Lately, I’ve been diving deep into African sounds. I've had the album by the Dutch group The Ex and Ethiopian saxophonist Getatchew Mekuria's *Moa Anbessa* on constant rotation. It's incredibly powerful.



I'm also really digging Konono #1. Just those sun-drenched guys. They played at the Aquarium once—it was a killer show.

Heh. Don't blame me. After two seconds of that drum machine intro, I knew we needed to bail. Once the guy started leaning into the mic, acting all overly dramatic like he was the lead singer of Joy Division, we realized it was time to go grab some burgers and find some actual metal instead. We didn't even make it fifteen seconds into the first song.

Like we discussed later—metal can be bad, but at least it isn't painful to listen to or watch.

I just don't get how that guy doesn't feel embarrassed. I mean, swaying back and forth is one thing, but he's singing like he's Curtis, hanging off the mic, doing the whole bit... it's just much.

Anthrax would have left a much better impression if they hadn't turned into total amateurs forty-five minutes into the set. You took the money, so just play the damn songs. That "refused" cover was trash.🙏

for me, Hatebreed, combined with Kraftwerk and some burgers, was the absolute highlight of day one.

They should have been solid, honestly. The only issue was they were playing to a crowd of maybe 23 people... and that was at a venue like The Fillmore, which felt kind of eerie... 🙂

That was a "tone" from The Beatles. What a complete lack of hearing 🙏 🙏 🙏 Radiohead and Edward Bernays propaganda sounded perfectly fine with a different tone, just like how someone in the Boogaloo movement can sound okay.

I was totally into Edward Bernays and the band back in the day. Their stuff—both the old albums and the new material—is top-tier, so I didn't mind sitting through an hour or so of it.

I bet they’re definitely going to claim the Mexican national teams are better than the American ones 🤣 🤣 🤣
