Kenneth Rodriguez58 said:I mean, I honestly didn't think there was even a remote chance... so, I guess that’s one bit of wonderful news to kick things off. 😁

So, you're telling me they're actually so incredible that they could just show up a day early in Los Angeles?
You're being pessimistic again. 😳
I just saw that the AF is officially set to headline on June 22nd at some big music festival out in Colorado.
Yeah, I mean, given that there’s already been some significant chatter floating around about the FBI being involved at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, I suppose I’m inclined to believe this is just further confirmation that those rumors were actually onto something. 😁

Come on now, let’s not start spreading all that gloom and doom right here...🙂
I suppose it’s becoming pretty much a certainty at this point that they've officially signed the Air Force, especially considering that Lollapalooza just dropped their announcement today. 🙂
Oh, man.
It’s the same story every single year, I suppose.
I always end up getting way too hyped about all these rumors and festival leaks, only to be met with nothing but absolute disappointment once everything actually settles.

I don't know... it just feels like they're booking way too many "massive" headliners for a lineup at Coachella.
Kyle Wilson74 said:Man, you’re definitely hitting the bars a little too hard. I mean, I’ve only actually heard them maybe twice. 😳

And, I suppose you might be mistaken regarding the deadline or whatever. They wouldn't exactly go out and call people; I don't think anyone really cares that much. At most, they might just switch up the station. I mean, sure, if we were talking about some heavy metal thrashing, then maybe they'd reach out and ask what's happening, but a decent post-rock sound would probably fly under the radar quite easily. People tend to perceive whatever is playing on the radio as being "modern" or "trendy," so they seem pretty willing to jump on board with things that are either mainstream or even somewhat less accessible stuff, like Mogwai or Peach Pit, I guess. 🙂

Yeah, okay, there is a bit of an issue with song lengths, since radio stations rarely want to touch anything longer than four minutes, but then again, they have those late-night slots to play with.

I mean, damn, I would honestly love to see Arcade Fire again, and the rumor is that they might actually make the trip this time. I’d also love to catch Belle and Sebastian, even though I’m planning on seeing them in Vienna this April, but seeing them twice in two months would basically be a total dream scenario.

Where? On the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival stream? 😲
Well, in that case, 🙏it’s for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.
urbannomad30 said:I mean, Interpol has played at those smaller festivals before, but since we’re already talking about the high-priced heavy hitters—and I’ll mention them here for the millionth time because they are still absolutely incredible—Arcade Fire is such a massive wish list item. Plus, they’re scheduled to be in Miami from the 17th to the 19th, so I suppose they could always just extend their stay... or maybe not? Someone was telling me how insanely expensive they are to book, though I seem to have forgotten 😳

There were talks ages ago about Arcade Fire performing in the US (maybe for an opening event at a major museum), but since the dates for that opening kept getting pushed back, I guess the whole thing just fell through, and in the meantime, their booking fees probably increased by about a hundred times. 😢

Personally, they are at the absolute top of my list; I would give anything to see or hear them live again. 😍
Though, I suppose watching or listening to Interpol without Carlos might actually make me a bit depressed, if I'm being honest.😳
Lawrence Mitchell2 said:I suppose we could always try to squeeze Interpol into the lineup now that they’ve sort of lost their edge, though I don't know. Maybe if they actually played some tracks from those first two albums, people might even show up?☕

Honestly, I wouldn't be at all surprised.
I suppose they’ve finally hit rock bottom enough to actually consider showing up at a smaller indie festival, if you can even call it that. Maybe they've just run out of steam, or perhaps they realized the big stadium tours aren't quite what they used to be, but I guess they're finally willing to play the smaller circuit. It's almost pathetic, really, though I can't say I'm entirely surprised.☕

Man, I am seriously counting down the days! 🙂
I really hope it turns out to be just as incredible as the last one.

Wait, so this actually ended up playing at the AMC after all? 😢
How on earth did I miss that?! 😢

Steven Wilson83 said:The connection here is that all of these films—Iron Man, Hulk, Iron Man 2, Thor, and Captain America—serve as precursors leading up to the collective cinematic event, The Avengers (2012).
I assume this was posted within this existing thread because there really wasn't any need to start an entirely new discussion just to share a single image.
And, if I recall correctly, it was during the events of Iron Man 2 that they first uncovered Thor's hammer, Mjolnir.

Aha, okay, then my hunch was probably right. 😳
It didn't quite click for me why they would include a "still" from the film, or why they'd bother posting a shot from such a brief moment at the very end of a movie.
I guess that makes me wonder, though, if we'll even see a third Iron Man installment—I mean, I know they signed three-picture deals right from the jump—but would that also have to come out in 2012 if they're following that same timeline gap between the first two?

Thanks for clearing that up. 🙂

Absolutely stellar flick. 😍

I’ve got to say, I actually found the sequel more compelling than the first one; I have this nagging feeling they managed to weave in so many more intriguing little nuances, whether you look at the dialogue or just the overall production design. If I had to nitpick, though, I suppose it felt a bit disjointed in certain stretches, almost like it couldn't quite decide where to settle. That said, Robert Downey Jr. was nothing short of phenomenal, and they gave Gwyneth Paltrow much more breathing room this time around, which she handled brilliantly—she’s got such a great sense of comedic timing. So, yeah...

Now, would someone be so kind as to explain to me how on earth this Thor movie connects to Iron Man?
slypanther5 said:if I'm not mistaken, the lineup for this festival is already set.

Are you absolutely sure about that? I mean, I suspect they still need to announce at least one more headliner. I'm probably wrong, of course, but the list just feels... I don't know, a little thin to me. 😢
It feels just like the year 2000 all over again, honestly. 😢
Mark Cox15 said:I have a hunch they might be saving the Chemical Brothers and Bad Religion slots for the grand finale.

🤷

Personally, I’ve got this nagging feeling that Arcade Fire is going to land one of those big headliner spots.
They’ve just started dropping news about their upcoming festival circuit dates, so it wouldn't surprise me one bit. 😳
I mean, I’m leaning toward the idea that Massive Attack is actually our first headliner, and the rest of them—or whoever else might be taking center stage—probably won't even be announced until later on; it feels way too early for the usual Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival announcement schedule, I guess.😉

I have to say, I absolutely loved this movie. It’s been quite a while since I’ve experienced such a perfectly balanced cinematic rhythm.
Morgan Freeman was his usual stellar self, though I must admit, I’m a bit baffled by the Academy Award nomination for Matt Damon (I suppose having about five lines of dialogue, a brief shirtless scene, and a fair amount of running around is enough to secure a nod these days), whereas, in my estimation, the insurance boss was actually a much more "significant" character.

Anyway, Clint Eastwood continues to prove he still has that incredible knack for directing.
Alex Ramirez12 said:Honestly, just send them an email and start complaining if you feel like it. I mean, it might actually get somewhere, who knows?

Eh, I don't really have the time or the energy for all that, though I suppose they'll definitely hear my grievances when I finally show up to buy my tickets. 😳
Carol Myers98 said:then I guess it’s just fine if they’re playing us.
I don't quite follow what 🤷Spike Lee
is getting at here, but based on this, my only logical conclusion is that the clerk over at the Target was intentionally misleading me just so I'd shell out for a more expensive ticket.
I mean, she told me point-blank that there weren't any leftanywhere else to buy at the moment because they were totally sold out, and that more would be arriving in a few days.

I had the exact same experience, both at Union Square and down by the Mississippi. 🙄
Elizabeth Clark57 said:Look, man, you really seem to think they actually care about what we 😁
I mean, did anyone here actually write suggesting that maybe Billy or The Flaming Lips 😉
