YEP. The Flaming Lips. 😍
Kyle Jackson54 said:That whole Kevin Drew Presents: Indie Rock Scene thing was honestly the worst. And they actually took it on tour, too—I actually caught them live back then. I think it was sometime in October 2007.

Edit: My apologies, let me rephrase that... Indie Rock Scene Presents: Kevin Drew - Spirit if...

Yeah, I have to agree, that album wasn't really my cup of tea either. ☕

As for Feist—I highly doubt there's anything happening there, since she was just starting to get serious about working on the album and I don't see any tour on the horizon. 🤷
I honestly think *You Forgot It in People* is one of the greatest albums ever made, period. 😍
...it really put me in such a good mood. 🙂
..I honestly don't even know how to put into words how absolutely thrilled I am that they actually managed to scrape together enough cash to book Massive Attack by the eleventh month. 😍

Ditto. Honestly, that was my very first thought when I caught wind of this news. 😢
I have a nagging feeling that Interpol might be out of the running for the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, especially since U2 just announced they’ll be opening for them on June 27th.
I mean, I really don't know what the odds are of them playing a show in America just four days after performing in Europe, right? :zany:

So, if you ask me, the real heavy lifter here was definitely Anna Kendrick. I mean, don't get me wrong, Clooney is predictably excellent—he always is—but honestly, that "standard greatness" felt a bit insufficient during the opening act. It wasn't until Anna actually stepped onto the screen that the movie finally found its footing, gaining this much-needed weight and momentum, in my opinion. What I find quite clever is how the film presents itself as being rather shallow at first glance; it sort of tricks you into thinking it’s a light romp, when in reality, it’s digging into some pretty deep themes regarding the subjective perception of what constitutes a "normal" versus an "abnormal" lifestyle, and that whole idea that you're essentially a god or just a beast depending on how isolated you are.

Anyway, those bird's-eye views of the cities are absolutely stunning for 🙏, and that opening sequence? Pure 🙏.
It's a really solid film. 😍
So, Phoenix just dropped a snippet of their tour schedule, and it looks like there's a bit of a gap right around the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival 😉

06-20 Bonnaroo

I mean, sure, there's talk of a new album dropping early this year, but that’s really all we have to go on—and honestly, who knows how accurate those release dates actually end up being anyway.

And on another note, these topic starters can be such absolute gluttons! We get one massive headliner, which is great, obviously, but what about the other forty acts on the lineup? Where are they?

Well, Interpol is gearing up for a tour this summer, and if you look at their past touring patterns, it’s pretty safe to assume they’ll be hitting the festival circuit, which means Coachella is definitely on the table.😉

I suppose it’s a safe bet that A Star Is Born will definitely land a wide release if Jeff Bridges manages to snag an Oscar.

Actually, scratch that—I'm just going to go see it this Sunday. I honestly can't wait. 😍

I was looking through the AMC promotional flyer for "Month of Love" (🤣) and I noticed they translated the title as "Neither in Heaven nor on Earth."

At this point, it feels like Reitman is the only one actually investing in screenplay awards, while Farmiga, Kendrick, and Clooney just somehow "lost out" to everyone else. Honestly, if you ask me, aside from maybe Jeff Bridges, Clooney doesn't stand a chance at an Oscar nomination this year.
Good grief, if they actually announce my favorites first, we might just have an incredible lineup on our hands. 😍

I’m aware that this was actually based on a true story—or rather, some memoirs—and I mention that because, in my humble opinion, the filmmakers managed to steer clear of that heavy-handed, over-the-top drama that stories like this so easily slide into. 🙂

I suspect our local translators might have botched the title for "No Way to Treat a Lady." 🤣

Anyway, I am honestly counting down the days until I can finally sit down and watch it. 🙂

I found the movie to be absolutely stellar, mostly because it doesn't pretend to be some profound, deep masterpiece, which is honestly such a relief given that we're talking about a story centered on a sixteen-year-old girl. I think I’ve just reached my limit with all that pseudo-intellectual teenage babble, so I felt the entire context of the plot was actually quite well-suited to the reality of 1960s Britain.

Alfred Molina, Carey, and Peter Sarsgaard were all fantastic; I have to say, the latter really caught me off guard with his performance. 🙂

...honestly, my version of Ys is just stunning. 😍
So, I think Lady Gaga is set to perform at Madison Square Garden in October, right?

And Muse too, I suppose? Yup. 🙄

Honestly, it wouldn't even surprise me if they actually ended up taking the stage after all this talk. 😢
Wait, I’m pretty sure I already shelled out for my ticket during this whole "second round" thing $117 back last year.
Prices have jumped by $13, which feels a bit much when you consider we've had a full year of absolute luxury and peak living standards.
Then again, I can't shake the feeling that something massive is brewing on the horizon.

😍
I mean, Radiohead has already turned down Coachella a couple of times now, so I suspect we won't see a different story this year either. If they ever decide to grace us with a performance in America, it’ll probably be in San Diego, especially since they seemed pretty keen on that area whenever anyone bothered to ask about them playing in this part of the world.

Word on the street is Portishead is currently in talks for Coachella. Then there's Arcade Fire, who really should have headlined the opening of Michigan State University back a few years ago, so it feels almost certain they'll be in negotiations for Coachella this season—especially with that new album dropping in May. Honestly, though, if I had to place a bet, I think an Interpol set is actually our most likely candidate.
restlessranger30 said:If my memory serves me right, the lineup was actually pretty decent last year.

Personally, I wouldn't mind if at least half of this year's Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival crowd showed up. 😍 Or maybe we could get The xx, Julian Perretta, or even Thom Yorke... I don't know, I'll probably go regardless, though I really hope there’s at least one band on the bill that I actually adore.

And there’s been quite a bit of chatter lately about Arcade Fire, hmm.

Well, Interpol and Arcade Fire are touring next summer. Portishead is too.
