Look, even though this flick is a blast, it’s easily one of the weakest bloody Sam
movies out there. Honestly? The only thing I'd rank lower is Killer Elite.

Honestly, I still think the Western Trilogy is the peak. It’s sitting right up there with Il Grande Silenzio and Once Upon a Time in the West
Maybe throw Faccio's Faccio a faccia in the mix too—it's right in that same ballpark.

I feel like some of the magic would just vanish. I mean, once you've seen it a few times... though honestly, if they had gone that route, it probably would’ve been better.
In Peckinpah's movies, it would've been pure SIN—kind of like an Oates or Borgnine flick, or something with Dustin Hoffman or Kristofferson. And especially with Susan George and Isela Vega: SLINE:

Walken vs. Duvall... man, I gotta go with Walken. XD

This would also be the perfect thread for Rourke and all those legendary roles he passed up🤷—he probably would've absolutely crushed most of them since he was at his peak back then.

Gary Oldman instead of Guy Pearce in Memento—he just needed to mess up his hair and level up
but that’s why Pantoliano is absolutely essential in that flick

Val Kilmer over Slater in True Romance—even if he’s mostly just playing the narrator/Elvis role there. Honestly, I’ve never been a fan of Slater anyway

Michael Madsen instead of Charlie Sheen in Platoon. The badass chemistry between him and Charlie Sheen would’ve been next level

Charlie Sheen instead of Tom Cruise in The Color of Money—the guy just needed four months spent practicing pool

If you swap out The Shawshank Redemption for 12 Angry Men and keep that order—honestly, I'd bet my last dollar on that lineup being better.

Look, I get the attention to detail here, but skipping over Lee Tamahori and his Once Were Warriors (1994) as one of the massive wins for the Australian feature film back in the nineties is a pretty huge oversight.

And this is another missed opportunity right here

only Neill was actually born in Ireland... spent his childhood in New Zealand and then crushed it in Sleeping Dogs—so he went from the land of kiwis to the land of kangaroos before heading back to the States eventually.

Honestly, Americans are probably second only to the Danes when it comes to cinema—I've just always had a massive soft spot for the Ozploitation vibe.
Man, I loved Mad Max when I was a kid—that first one still hits with that crazy, schizo feeling of extreme violence.
Wake in Fright is easily in my top 20 movies; it's a big one for me.
Long weekend and dead end drive are also absolute geniuses.
