Isn't it pretty obvious why you're acting surprised? You showed up just to pick fights and talk trash to the girls—so when it finally blew up in your face, you're actually shocked 🤷

If we’re being totally honest and actually sticking to the rules here, everyone who jumped in to back up your posts should have been banned along with you. And honestly, you know that's true.

I love reading your comments, don't let it go to your head though, just keep doing what you're doing.
You've got my full support!

Honey, I think you've got me mixed up with someone else—that's just not how I talk. I left that kind of vocabulary way back in my teenage years.😁

Does anyone else feel like we've heard this one a thousand times already? Or is it just me? 🍿

And honestly, you just dig your heels in and stick to your guns like you always do, acting like nobody else's input matters one bit...

That’s exactly the point—you’re stuck in your own little bubble, and anyone who dares to point out a flaw in your stats or your logic gets labeled as ignorant, uneducated, or whatever other insult you can come up with. Not to mention, on this the topic you've latched onto now, you were being quite condescending toward every woman who doesn't fit your "normal" idea of childbirth 🙄

To make a long story short—I think you've managed to annoy pretty much everyone who's typed a single word in that thread 🤣

rustydrifter10 said:The thing is, the search function actually has this awesome feature where you can search specifically through PDFs so you aren't sifting through the entire forum at once. 😍 Plus, you have the option to search within individual threads separately if you want to be precise. 🙂

If the built-in forum search isn't cutting it for you, don't forget there's a Google search bar right there in the top left corner of the forum—it works like a charm. 🥳

Strebs Quote🙂

Brian Edwards6 said:Good grief, you all are going to ruin the only person left here with any actual backbone.🙂

I’m reporting this post.🙂 I took personal offense to that word "bit."😁

So, what you're saying is you're actually quite tough?
😬

I honestly can't tell which one of these I am lately... 🙈
crimsonsailor7 said:Man, this is just too precious... talking about the emojis, I mean 😁

Thanks 😍

Nah, it won't crash, but everyone who actually hangs out here all the time gets pretty burned out having to answer the exact same thing a hundred times... especially when the answer is sitting right there just a few posts up 🙂

Look, there's already a thread for those kinds of questions and I put the link right there... we don't need two separate threads, and it’s also not helpful to merge a new thread into an old one when the question about personal penalties has already been answered a million times over. If people could just try to see the bigger picture once in a while, things would be a lot smoother for everyone... 😉

As for everything else, it's all been covered, especially regarding the search tool, which by the way, you can use within individual threads (just use the 'search this thread' option in the top right corner) and like rustydrifter10 mentioned, you can even search through specific PDFs...

So yeah, I think we've covered all the bases now? 🤔

Man, this feels like a total slap in the face.

What really gets under my skin is when someone drops a super specific question—say, about a cable package subscription—and she just brushes them off with: "just scroll through the thread." But there are a million pages of junk there 🙄take the annual plan and deal with it🙂
or "just use the search bar"🤣

And honestly, what the hell am I supposed to type in there?😂

To wrap this up:
You aren't necessarily bad at this, you're just being too rigid—maybe just loosen up a bit and everything will be fine. It’s not like the server is going to crash if someone asks the same question more than once.

Is every single option just worse than PBS? 😬

Brian Edwards6 said:The issue isn't actually with the server. The real problem is that when someone posts under "Specific Questions," they’ve usually already been answered five times in the last ten pages. It’s just exhausting for those of us trying to help to keep repeating the exact same advice over and over again. I realize everyone feels like their particular situation is a unique crisis, but you really need to put in at least a modicum of effort to search for the answer yourself before you start whining.👍

Pri post u temi je: "I have a quick question regarding a ticket I just received. I was pulled over around 10:00 PM because I didn't have my ID on me. I went ahead and paid the fine immediately, but everyone I've spoken to since then is claiming that if this was my first offense, I should have just been given a warning instead of an actual citation. Is there any truth to that, or am I just being told what I want to hear?".👍

What does this have to do with the Detroit forum? Let me be clear: the fact that her friend didn't have her headlights on has absolutely zero bearing on her initial question. It isn't even the subject of this discussion; it's just being used as fodder for people looking to mock her.🙂

As for whether this thread actually belongs on the Legal Board, there’s already a dedicated section just for ID cards, not to mention the specific thread for filing formal disputes. Honestly, she shouldn't have even had to ask; if she’d bothered to scroll through just two or three pages, she would have found everything she was looking for right there.👍

For the most part, crimsonsailor7 absolutely rocks.😁

She just registered, she's got a couple of posts, and it's pretty obvious she hasn't figured out how to navigate all the features this forum offers yet. 🤷

Even if that search tool is kind of questionable—I mean, try typing in something like "spider" 🤣 ...you'll end up pulling up every damn PDF on this site, from kids' toys and nature stuff to legal documents... 🤣
It's like what was said above regarding those long threads—just take a vacation and read through them. But no, she needs the answer in an hour. 🤣

I mean, I didn't see anything like that on the first two pages, and honestly, how am I supposed to know what belongs in a group thread when I only end up visiting that part of the site maybe once a year? 🙂

And you could probably take it easy just a little bit too, 😁
If I messed up—then move it, merge it, or whatever needs doing... the point is, you guys are where you are for a reason. You don't need to jump down my throat and slide into my DMs immediately over every little thing. 🤣

hollowtinker18 said:It’s telling, honestly. I don’t even bother looking at the PDFs anymore—it's just too expensive, like paying for ten overpriced NFL games just to get red-carded. I truly feel like moderator Katrin uses inquisitorial tactics that have nothing to do with actually running a forum... so I haven't even had the heart to appeal (because when the judge is also the prosecutor, you might as well not show up)

That’s the truth right there. Every single time I’ve stuck my nose into that section, I’ve ended up getting burned for it myself. 🤣
If nothing else, you’d expect a simple warning. I mean, I started a thread without even realizing it had been categorized under a group topic... and well, I just took the hit. 🤣

I’m totally with you there. Honestly, I just feel bad that things have already reached a boiling point—and we know better than anyone how that happened, seeing all the emojis you guys had to push through 😍

Is there actually a way to set some ground rules for discussing bans and warnings without the whole thing devolving into a massive shouting match of personal insults?

dustycrane8 said:I don't think the thread should have been locked in the first place. Why? Just so the people acting civilly could be punished too? 🤣
Well, maybe we should've just taken the warnings and left you lot to chat away on your own. 🤣

The only thing I’m truly against is having posts deleted. I’d want the world to see exactly why I got flagged. Let everything stay out in the open.
Let others learn from my mistake.

I don't see why everyone shouldn't face some consequences, since we all played a part in creating this mess and keeping it on life support for Taylor Swift long. 😳

Besides, would you really leave me all alone over there with Mulica? 😲
🙂

So, are we just going to keep messaging each other like this until doomsday, or is someone "from above" going to step in and tell us if there's any actual point to this? 🙂

Douglas Gonzalez4 said:I said I didn't have much to say regarding an appeal to one's sense of humanity. It felt wrong to me, and if you look at the quote, it seems pretty obvious. I have no idea why Voden would drag things like that into it.

I know exactly where you're coming from—you wish she could go after the mods or the admins too, but she simply doesn't have the authority. That's just how the system works, and you've known that since your very first day here.

Is it normal to me that they get away with so much more than we do?
It is.
And you're ignoring that part.
You can think whatever you want about me because of it, but as you said, the beauty of our thread was that we were all so different. And personally, I think that's a huge plus.

Africa shouldn't punish someone they technically don't have the power to penalize, but there are people who absolutely have the technical means to do so. Similarly, those at the "top" shouldn't give themselves a pass just because they can. It isn't right.
And I truly don't understand how you can justify them being forgiven more often than us. Why? Are they somehow better than a regular person like me or you, so they get extra leeway? Did they get some superpowers from a new color in the rainbow? Is that it?
Look, it's impossible to control every single little thing, and obviously, moderators aren't omnipotent or infallible, but when someone repeatedly makes the same mistakes, you can't just claim they woke up on the wrong side of the bed. Just because someone isn't performing their job well doesn't mean we should indefinitely tolerate their constant errors.

But you guys said that in the wrong place!
And that's why nothing was achieved except for everyone turning gray... damn it. 🙂

If you're going to argue that everyone is entitled to their opinion, then respect ours—we believe this should have been handled differently and in a different venue.

The grays and the remaining blues all agree that the venue for expressing this opinion wasn't appropriate. That's just the rules.
But again, I'm asking you: where else should it have been said?
Right here, where everything had already been posted and subsequently closed?

We tried, Kiss, we tried doing it differently and in a different place. And yet, nothing. We gave it a shot. If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. We wrote what we wanted to write in a thread that meant something to us, and that's that. They'll unlock it, and whoever wants to post there will post; there's no need for a scene.

I don't want this to turn into a debate about Gutanje or arguing over which three women are more in the right. That's completely irrelevant.
What matters is what was written in the introduction and what sparked this whole thing in the first place.

Man, at the end of the day, we’re all just going to end up circling back to the same spot anyway.🤣

Alright, look, it shouldn't have been done there, the way it was—on that, we’re all on the same page!
If it's really that important to you that moderation be discussed in specific chats, then hey, throw out a constructive suggestion so we don't turn into exactly what Mortišin's topic became yesterday. Let's try to move forward together... where's the harm in that? 🤷

Eric Newman75 said:That actually doesn't change your point about whether a discussion could have happened—because clearly, it couldn't. What’s the point of starting a thread if it just leads straight to an (expected) ban?

And seriously, you want me to comment on something that hasn't even happened to me yet?🙄

Eric Newman75 said:That just doesn't fly here. Tyndall already closed the thread and made it crystal clear: anyone who keeps pushing this is getting banned. 😉

So, has anyone else noticed what’s been happening with the last few posts around here? Seriously, what did this place even turn into?
It’s pretty obvious that a certain group of people—the ones who clearly make talking nonsense their main hobby—just clocked out of work, hopped online, and started dropping those gems of theirs. And, well, we all know how that ended. 🙄

It feels like it was only for a little while that we could actually have a normal conversation here without someone jumping in to shut everything down...

I’ve actually started this exact same thread about LJES and his moderation style twice before, and honestly, nobody jumped down my throat. I didn't get called names, nobody told me I was being an idiot, and nobody just shut the whole discussion down without warning. You’re more than welcome to go check my profile history if you don't believe me. 😉

As for the comments regarding friendships and the moderation team, I have nothing to say. And your take on MelodyNine's post doesn't belong here either.
We don't share a collective intellect, and thank goodness we don't all think the same way. That exchange of ideas is exactly what the Gutanje discussions were about, though it seems you're missing that point.
This isn't about taking sides; it's simply that a certain group of users has reached their limit. Some of them hang out outside of this space too, so what?

There was a thread right here on the USA with a specific problem. It was presented appropriately and backed by arguments. And the result? "Idiocy."
That was the response.
So, the fact that the core issue was raised in the proper venue has been proven once again.

I'm not advocating for insults. Calling the moderator Peter stupid or incompetent just because he deleted three posts regarding Tonson isn't something I'm pushing. I don't see why I shouldn't be able to mention that Peter was banned for trolling, but that's a separate matter entirely. If the rule is that we can't discuss moderation decisions in passing, fine. I'll accept that.
But only on one condition: that there actually exists a place where I can express my opinion and comment on how the moderators operate. These "idiocies" are showing me once again that such a space doesn't truly exist.
Another thing mentioned during this so-called "defiance," as you call it, was the equal application of rules to everyone. Whether you're a regular user or someone tasked with keeping order, the rules should apply to everyone regardless of their username—even if those names are patterned in purple elephants.
If you think otherwise, I'm sorry, but I can't help you. No one has the right to call you stupid, even if you were insisting the sky was brown.

And there's no need for insults just because you don't understand something—or rather, because you don't want to. I know you could make the effort, but if you choose not to, that's fine. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Way to go, Africa, following the rules to a T.
Is that better now?
Frankly, I don't care how she feels when she has to issue a penalty to Melody. She’s a moderator, isn't she? It’s her job to flag posts that warrant it, period. It makes absolutely no difference to me whether the post subject to discipline was written by Person A, Person B, or Person C. If we can't handle that level of objectivity, then we have a real problem on our hands.
A problem that is clearly present, even if you are stubbornly choosing to ignore it.

So, what did you all actually gain from this?
Herp just made you all turn red, the thread is locked, and now you all look like a bunch of hysterical women who just got worked up over nothing—honestly, none of us gained a single thing.😢

Nothing, it's not like we didn't already know that. We said what we had to say, and that's that.
I am sorry if all you see is a group of women making a scene, but fine. As I told Karen Rodriguez3, everyone is entitled to their own opinion.

Sure, but on the flip side, you've got Voden over there calling out Africa, asking where her sense of humanity went—and look, I’m sorry, but what does that actually have to do with anything?
Was that okay to say to her? The woman was just doing the job she was hired to do here 👎

I think I know what you're getting at—you wish she could hand out cards to the mods or the admins too, but she just doesn't have that authority. That's just how the system works, and you've known that since your very first day here.

They made it clear that anyone bringing this up again is going to face consequences, whether it’s over on the USA board or any other corner of the site.
The whole point of the USA section is to give people a space to voice grievances or hash things out with the mods and admins.

It wasn't really about the USA moderators; honestly, I have to hand it to Herp. 🙏

It's more about certain problematic individuals. 🤣
I'm honestly not sure why you're struggling to grasp what these girls are actually saying.
Look, I mentioned bans in the chat and ended up getting a warning. I'm not complaining—I broke the rules, plain and simple.
But the issue lies with that comment you made about how you'll be able to do whatever you want once you become an admin.

The people tasked with enforcing the rules should probably be the first ones to follow them.

Is it Herp? Or is it Africa?
Did anyone else here take note of how she was actually feeling today when she had to go ahead and ban those girls?
Do you really think Herp wouldn't pull something like that off?
I honestly feel like this whole thread should have been locked down ages ago...

Call me stupid if you want, but I’m still sitting here scratching my head. I honestly don't get what the goal was with that whole thing. What were you all actually trying to achieve there?

So, what, you guys aren't a fan of some of the rules around here?
It feels like nobody around here actually closes a thread when someone lays out a smart argument or offers something genuinely constructive. Everyone just lets them sit there. And honestly, whether there’s any actual benefit to posting this stuff or not... well, I don't think you're going to change anyone's mind by continuing down this same path you started on. 🤷

So, what did you guys end up getting this time?
Man, they really just shut us down. The thread is locked, and honestly, we all look like a bunch of old hens who got all worked up over nothing—especially since, let’s be real, we’re all just acting a bit high-strung here. In the end, none of us actually walked away with anything. 😢
