A while back, I dealt with some pretty bad stomach pain. It usually started as this burning sensation, then just escalated into full-on agony. At first, it was just quick bouts, but eventually, it hit me so hard one time that I couldn't sleep for days. It turned out to be a gastric ulcer... I don't mean to scare you, I guess. I'm just suggesting you maybe start looking into treatment before things get even worse.
David Smith4 said:It might be hives... maybe an allergic reaction to some medication he was on... could you describe those spots better? Is it more like a rash? Are they raised above the skin level?
No—the surface feels smooth, it doesn't itch or burn, and it hasn't happened before... under a magnifying glass, nothing shows up on the surface—no pimples or scaling—so it's just these red, round spots...
So, I’m dealing with an issue regarding my 9-year-old. While he was recovering from a sore throat, these tiny circular spots appeared on one side of his face. They look a bit like the marks left behind after a mosquito bite, but there wasn't any actual acne, roughness, itching, or burning on the skin itself. At first, I figured maybe it was just from a high fever, or perhaps a reaction to the antibiotics, but even a month after he fully recovered, the spots haven't faded. In fact, the affected area seems to have spread slightly. Our pediatrician prescribed some Geocortex, which we used for five days, but nothing changed. A dermatologist mentioned she hadn't seen anything quite like this before, especially since it's strictly limited to one side of his face and doesn't show up anywhere else on his body. We were given a cream to soothe the redness and told to use cold compresses. It’s been three weeks of following that regimen, and there’s still no change. The spots don't seem to cause him any physical discomfort, but they really do look unsightly, and he's already starting to feel self-conscious about leaving the house.
Has anyone dealt with something similar, or maybe heard anything about this kind of thing?
Since I'd like to get a second opinion, could anyone recommend a good dermatologist?
Charles Edwards8, thanks... though I guess it doesn't mean much coming from someone on the UN diet, since the weight would probably drop regardless... nobody really trusts that chemical stuff anyway.
I’m curious about this too. I actually asked on another thread—specifically the weight loss group—if anyone here uses it or has used it before. Any insights would be appreciated, I guess.
Is there much of an acting scene in NYC or LA? I've honestly never figured out how or where to actually audition for a series or a movie... do you have to sign with an agency first? I want to help a friend get her foot in the door... she's pretty talented, I guess.
Thanks for all the advice, everyone... I actually kind of like this. I've never been much for aerobics or those highly organized fitness classes. I suppose I could get into running, but I've been drawn to boxing for years now. I wasn't looking for any sudden breakthroughs since I'm probably too old for that, but more just for recreation and to blow off some steam. I've heard it's good for staying in shape, too. Plus, with my job and how much time I spend sitting around, I have a few issues—mostly posture stuff and some extra weight over the years.
First, excuse me if this is off-topic, but I see people are chatting so I figured I’d ask... I have an issue with my weight and was planning to start kickboxing. I like the idea of it, and I suppose I'm hoping to tone up a bit (I'm not one of those thin types who notices if they gain 5 pounds). So, what would you recommend? Maybe how many times a week, or how long each session should last... I'd be quite grateful for any advice. Best regards
Two of my close friends bake all the cookies for us—it’s mostly just for laughs and sharing, but it actually saves us quite a bit of money. I’d say we’ve saved at least $667 this way. And honestly? They were delicious...
