Maybe I’m just reaching here, but I just realized the guy booking basically every single set at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival was doing those sketchy, broken social scene shows in Russia and PJ Harvey in Poland just a couple weeks before. 🤷

I don't know what the deal is lately, but my guess is Dead Moon just burned out because their drummer couldn't stay sober...

Look, I made sure to clarify that I didn't even think about hitting the show after hearing how that new guy sounds... so I wasn't hating on the concert itself, just the fact that Mike gathered a whole new crew under the old name and went full Iggy with this new Stooges record...

But whatever, I guess I should give this new album a listen. Didn't even realize it was out yet...

Honestly, OPO doesn't even come close to the band that used to keep us all hyped up ten years ago... I know they've swapped members before, but this feels like if Black Francis decided to front a new version of the Pixies without any of the original lineup... We all know he was the backbone, just like how Nicholas was for OPO, but imagine if someone else was singing Gigantic instead of Kim Deal. 🤷
It’s actually way worse here because Dragan's vocals were basically the band's entire identity. I don't know, I just couldn't bring myself to head down to The Fillmore for their show, even though some people say it wasn't that big of a deal...

Honestly, why do you think we had to source everything ourselves back when we were dealing with M Ward? Man, when you try to pull an ATA Carnet in the United Kingdom, those fees are absolutely insane... I remember back when Caribou was heading out to deal with it and ended up getting hit with a massive $370 bill. We just decided it wasn't worth the headache, so instead, I just drafted a formal statement under criminal and material liability, basically guaranteeing all the gear would be out by noon the next day. Honestly, that seems to work most of the time lately...

On the flip side, concert promoters over in Canada managed to cut a deal with their customs office through the Ministry of Culture like ten years ago. They’d just fax the specific border crossing on the day of the show to let them know exactly when a certain band was rolling through... It just goes to show you can make things happen if you're dealing with people who actually make sense...

Truth is, people usually only stress about the Carnet here in the States, but even the folks in Switzerland can be total pains sometimes—even though they're usually pretty chill and mostly only ask questions about the merch, like CDs and shirts, that bands bring in to sell...

As for The Mission concert, look, if a band rolls up in two full-sized buses and you don't force them to use an ATA Carnet, any trouble you run into at the border is entirely on you. You can always talk your way through with a single van and a customs agent, but trying to pull that stunt with two buses? Good luck with that...

Fleet Foxes got an invite to Coachella, but since their tour doesn't kick off until summer, I doubt they'll be hitting many dates after Barcelona. They've probably got their eyes on the big festival circuit in July and August instead...

If you don't snag them now, don't sweat it—we'll have some available at the door. We aren't overstocking too many since we don't want to hit capacity at the venue, but they should be there until about 11 PM.
