He actually called off his US tour anyway, so our decision doesn't even feel that bad.😉
Look, I’m sorry guys, but our rule is we don't put on shows if we have to charge more than $40 (it used to be capped at $33, but everything's gotten so expensive lately that we had to bump it up a bit). For Bob Dylan, we'd practically have to double the price just to break even, and that feels wrong. It's the same reason we passed on Anthony back in the day—even though we knew the theater would sell out and tickets would be $83. We try to keep things affordable for students first, then everyone else, which is why we stick to this pricing policy...
There are bigger promoters out there, though. From what I hear, that Bob Dylan show in May is pretty much a done deal 😉

He used to rock that golden Grand Cherokee back in the day... honestly, I have no clue what he's chasing now.

Ethan Cook81 said:Back when I used to haul amps over to KSET, the place was actually pretty well insulated in every direction except for the roof. It was just some cheap shingles and panels that didn't hold back even 2% of the sound inside the walls. You couldn't even blast the TV on the 4th floor of the Empire State Building without someone noticing, even with the windows shut.
That’s facts...
There’s actually a funny story from when they did the noise inspections after the neighbors reported us to the authorities, which ended up shutting down our club for the second time...
They were measuring the noise in another guy's apartment too, since he was one of the people who signed the petition to shut KSET down. They set it up so someone would call from that apartment to let them know they were ready for the measurement so they could crank the speakers...
So this guy in the apartment says, "Turn it on," they wait, but the meter isn't showing anything... he goes, "Turn the sound on," still nothing... "Are you guys gonna turn it on or what?" ..."Yeah, we turned it on," comes the voice from the other side...
And then the professor doing the measurements (the same guy I saw getting roasted last night near KSET before he headed home) tells him: "Stop messing around, you morons."
Then the poor guy started making excuses about how he was just trying to be fair to everyone else and stuff... poor guy.

Drew Adams58 said:Man, I tried reading this review all the way through but just gave up halfway. Like, seriously, does this mean I’m actually gonna see the Pope and some random guy from a local gang hanging out in the same spot this Monday?
Holy crap, you really packed a lot into just two sentences, huh?😬
Anyway, are you high or something?

😂

After that kind of review, I guess Kset might be a little too big for you guys 😲

Just gonna say what I said on the other forum earlier—the album is killer, and "The Life You Wanted" is easily the best post-hardcore track I’ve heard in a long, long time.🙏
Think Nick might join the promo tour? It’d be about time.

urbannomad30 said:Oh yeah, Jesse Sanchez60, how many people were actually there? CNN said maybe 20k, while the local news was claiming 15k. Hard to tell when we were all spread out everywhere.
The local paper was guessing around 10-15k, the evening news said 15, and the morning news probably pumped up the numbers a bit... I'd say 15k is a solid estimate.🤷
I don't know, I see Depeche Mode packed a stadium in Budapest and sold out Madison Square Garden—they probably could've sold out another night too. A festival with such big, current headliners can't even come close to those numbers... I just don't get it.🤷
Looks like having it over a long weekend is the main culprit... I'm the perfect example. Family and my kid's international festival in San Diego take priority.

sweet, looks like it won't rain in Miami 😬
Honestly, I still can't wrap my head around how a festival with this many massive headliners and such a killer lineup sells fewer tickets—especially at a cheaper price—than a single Depeche Mode show. I don't know what people in this country are thinking. 🤷

That free jazz drum and sax duet in the middle is killer... I wonder what orange says about it 😁

heard some Klaxons tracks playing at Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival... supposedly they're hitting the stage there soon too...
If those are just flyers, then whatever, but if we're talking actual posters, I feel like it's kind of a bummer that the organizer's program name is the first thing you even see 🤷
Jose White23 said:Man, it’s like the world just couldn't decide between FF and Killers. Honestly, I feel like this is basically the same lineup we saw at Coachella last year—totally played out. But hey, if people are digging them and they've got a fresh album dropping, I guess it's fine. Moving them down my list of favorite acts, though.
I don't really get why the fact that they already played a big show in NYC is an issue. If a band is still relevant, and FF definitely is, then bring 'em on. Especially right after a new album drops, it's always a good move...
This could actually be a killer festival... more indie vibes 😉
mistyhound75 said:Honestly, this beats South by Southwest any day. That other thing people call a festival? Total joke.
Yeah, I'm with you on that. 🙂
Man, I feel so stupid... I seriously thought this stage at Coachella was just some kind of joke...
