Man, finally a real festival in the States... I’d love to take Anja to this one, but since they’re the headliners, it’ll probably start way too late. Does anyone know if tickets are required for little kids?

I get what you're saying... some buddies were at a show in Vegas and they said Iggy Pop basically needs a full medical team just to stay upright. Apparently, he can barely even walk off the stage after the set is over...
It’s kind of similar to what a friend told me once. He was touring through Europe with his band when they opened for Red Hot Chili Peppers, and he said with guys like the Peppers, every single member has their own medic on standby. As soon as they step off that stage, they're straight onto an IV drip... man, those old-school drug habits from back in the day really took a toll.

Iggy Pop... man, this would’ve been an incredible show three years ago. Too bad the new Stooges dropped that total disaster of an album recently. Instead of playing all the hits from *Fun House* and the first record, they’ll probably just jam on the new stuff. Still, I'm heading 👋

And you actually saw Sonic Youth play just two days after their Washington, D.C. show? 😲
hollowseal33 said:Man, he’s gonna be in trouble, seriously.
He wouldn't be able to pull this off alone even if he tried, tbh. We're talking massive amounts of cash here 🤔 plus, it's just not cool to drop names and specific details online like that without any context.
You're wrong, he could totally organize it without breaking a sweat, but you've got a point. It wasn't right of me to call them out like that. At the end of the day, the fans are the ones who actually benefit, no matter how shady someone else's moves might be... my bad to any local guy if I caused any trouble...
Man, it’s awesome that both Interpol and Sonic Youth are coming, but honestly, if Banja hadn't mentioned they might show up to the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival, I bet those guys wouldn't have even thought about calling them. Like I said before, they probably hadn't even heard of them until now... but hey, that's just the cutthroat music business for you. People like our buddy often get used by the industry... you just gotta accept it and be happy that we're getting both Interpol and SY playing right here in Washington, D.C....
One thing still bugs me, though... SY could probably pack a decent crowd at a smaller venue like Madison Square Garden—maybe 2,000 people. The NY Dolls would top out at maybe 500, and Interpol might pull 1,000, even though they share the same fanbase as SY...
So now they're supposed to be the headliners for a massive festival set up for tens of thousands of people? It feels like it's gonna be pretty underwhelming if some huge superstar name doesn't jump in at the last minute...

Banjanin!!! This guy’s been dragging his feet for months, and the deadline was supposed to be August 29th. But since the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival is happening right around then, our buddy actually went to talk to the Coachella organizers to make sure there wouldn't be any scheduling conflicts...
It turns out, nope—Coachella is moving their dates up by two days, and apparently, the organizers never even heard about this! In the end, they clearly realized how much the younger crowd loves this band and basically just snatched them away from us. Honestly, it sucks.

I'm pretty sure it's actually the fourth one if you don't count the soundtracks...

This should be a killer warmup for the upcoming Thirsty Ear fest. We’re also keeping Howe Gelb on the bill for that same day—he's playing with his band and a gospel choir (they shifted the tour schedule, but we made sure to keep him in town). I'll set up some decent combo pricing for both shows at $22 per ticket during pre-sale...
Here’s the rundown for this crazy day:
April 24, 2007.
The Fillmore at 8 PM
Howe Gelb with the Voices of Praise Gospel Choir
The Bowery Ballroom at 10 PM

Nirvana and Metallica 😲
Alright, fair enough... personally, I find lighter stuff pulls me more toward Metallica, but that last Nirvana record? Not even close...

Just a quick correction on what I said earlier: we can actually listen to both Nirvana and Pan Sonic now 😈

so where is Pan Sonic playing?
At the gallery... they're working on a project, just waiting on some acoustic foam to arrive. Should be all set by mid-April.🥳

Just realized—and I honestly had no clue until a couple weeks ago—that April 20th is International Noise Awareness Day. Total coincidence that it lines up perfectly with our lineup... here's the schedule:
April 21st:
Zeni Geva
April 24th:
Nirvana
April 25th:
Pan Sonic

I gotta admit, it’s just pure Caucasian psychosis—or maybe just the effect of two IPAs hitting at once... I still have a soft spot for Troublegum for purely sentimental reasons, since back then, it was just me and my buddy tearing it up at Apple in NYC, playing those classic Waiting Room and Kerosene tracks alongside everything else 😈
Man, the nostalgia hits hard... just me and 😢

When I hit up the club at night, a beer was $7, but during the day it was only $5... I wasn't exactly hitting the books much back then 😳

I'll admit I totally dropped the ball on Nirvana back in the day—like, way back during the Houdini era, maybe 12 years ago?—but after they did that record with Jellyfish a few years back, I realized I was being an idiot...
So, for the first time ever, I'm actually gonna hit that "ignore user" button.

It’s honestly a crime that a band this legendary doesn't have their own thread on here...
And there's a pretty damn good reason to finally start one...
