She couldn't keep any food or water down, so we tried home IV therapy, but even that isn't an option anymore because her veins have completely given out. Honestly, clinging to some imaginary miracle isn't doing me any good either. 👎
So, as far as I'm concerned, my part in this discussion is over. There's nothing more I can do. Once again, I wish you all the best, and thank you so much for all the kind words and support. 😉

Best,

I'm sorry, but please, let your hope be the very last thing to die. 😢

Scott Davis32 said:My mom has these moments where she just reacts so strangely. You’d think we were trying to convince her to go to the hospital, but blood in the urine at her age isn't some minor thing you play around with—we all know that, except for her. She just brushes it off, thinking if she pops a pill and lies down, everything will be fine and she can just move on. I honestly don't know how to force her hand. The problem is, she's dealt with these issues for years now, and she's developed this mindset that none of it actually matters. I found out yesterday that she hasn't seen a gynecologist in fifteen years. I was just sitting there like, 😲 Mom, seriously? During the most high-risk years, through menopause and everything, how is that even possible? And she just stares blankly...
As for her primary care doctor, things have been a mess lately. Her regular doctor retired recently, and now she's seeing this young girl who basically just graduated from medical school and is making things up as she goes. It’s frustrating because the doc doesn't seem to know anything. We're hoping she gets her act together soon; we need to sit her down for a serious talk, because when things start acting up, my mom refuses to 😢
Anyway, thanks for the advice.

Look, if you don't force her to see a doctor, she’ll probably end up with sepsis and a massive fever, and then you'll be dragging her into the ER unconscious. This sounds like a severe case of cystitis—a bladder infection. Try explaining to her—and yeah, scream and yell if you have to—that if she doesn't get treatment, older people actually die from this.
All she needs to do is provide a small urine sample for testing, get some antibiotics, drink plenty of cranberry juice, and take a urinary antiseptic, and the whole thing will be sorted. She's being incredibly stubborn.🙄

The Truth?! You couldn't handle The Truth if it hit you in the face!
It’s a damn shame the script didn't call for a bullet to go straight through Tom Cruise's face, right in the middle of that little slimy snout.😍
He is absolutely terrifying in this scene; I am fully convinced he actually believes every word coming out of his mouth, so much so that even I, just sitting here watching, was sold on the righteousness of his seemingly brutal decision.

Here is Johnny Depp!😍

Look, even a perfectly healthy person is going to lose their mind a little bit after fighting through cancer and everything else that comes with it—so don't even get me started on someone battling Alzheimer's. Listen, Alzheimer's is a progressive disease; that's just the reality of it. The goal is to stay as vital as possible for as long as you can. So, relax whenever, wherever, and however you're able to. Treat yourself to something that makes you happy once in a while. You've earned it.😉
Amy Hayes28 said:Honestly, I don't even know where to start. It’s a long story, really—this whole rollercoaster of having everything and nothing at all when it comes to what's going on "down there." It's been like managing a tiny, chaotic little Zen garden that just won't stay manicured.😁
I’ve been dealing with this brownish spotting for about ten months now, which is driving me crazy because I haven't missed a single dose of my Pile regimen. At first, I just figured it was stress—everything feels off lately, and I've been dealing with these constant, sharp cramps. Honestly, given how much discomfort I'm in, sex is completely out of the question right now.😁
So, my ovary—which hasn't been doing its job for a while anyway because some cyst basically smothered it—has gone into hiding. Now my doctor is telling me things look weird on the scans and that my markers are up. Honestly, he says that doesn't necessarily mean anything sinister; those numbers aren't always a perfect reflection of what's actually happening down there. According to my doctors, a CT scan isn't the ultimate truth when it comes to the actual state of things "down south," so they’re looking at performing a laparoscopic procedure to just go in and clean everything out properly.
Alright, great. On top of all that, my liver is swollen. I've got an appointment scheduled to check that out on the 29th, and then I have to deal with the ovarian issue on February 18th.
It should be fine. Why would I actually want to nurture something inside me that serves no purpose other than causing pain?

Based on everything you've described, I think you're dealing with endometriosis. Welcome to the club.🙄 You’ll be fine, honestly. Just get rid of that stuff and focus on healing your liver. If you don't, you're just going to end up dealing with those ab pulses, which put even more strain on your liver while you're waiting to decide on having kids. Look, there’s an entire section of this women's forum dedicated solely to endometriosis. Seriously, as if you didn't have enough on your plate already.😳
Amy Hayes28 said:For those dealing with ovarian cancer—besides having elevated markers, did you experience any other symptoms? How did you first find out you were sick?
I'm heading in next month to have my 😁

pulled.

😲So what's your situation?
brightgardener8 said:Unfortunately, there’s no good news to report from our end today.😢
The MR from last week shows tumor progression, and a massive area of the brain is dealing with edema, post-radiation glioma, necrotic tissue...

I'm trying not to spiral too much because, like Angela Wright once pointed out, what we saw on today's scan is already physically there; the paper itself doesn't change reality.
The main thing is that Mom hasn't had any sudden, sharp shifts; those usually creep up on you slowly until they just become the "new normal."

I looked into DCVax, but I was told it isn't an option here in the States. There have been cases abroad—costing tens of thousands of dollars—but unfortunately, the outcome remains the same. I'm mentioning this regarding glioblastoma just so no one else here gets their hopes up unnecessarily.

George, I am so sorry for your loss.

casualpanther1, I really hope you guys can stay one step ahead of this glioblastoma!

😢 Have you guys considered talking to the doctors about palliative procedures like stereotactic surgery? It could help drain some of that CSF. That kind of thing is standard practice in most of the world, but our medical teams here tend to hesitate about it. It could relieve that intracranial pressure and at least neutralize the seizures caused by the edema for a while.
Hang in there, girl, and always remember how vital it is that you have each other!
casualpanther1 said:...

Serge, I honestly can't tell you how relieved I am to hear that the MRI results are still clean—it feels like I'm reading about my own mother. I'm truly sorry your situation hasn't cleared up yet, but look, maybe waiting for that less invasive procedure isn't such a bad idea, especially since you've had some downtime at home to recover.
Whatever is helping your wife, just stick to the plan and keep doing what you're doing, because from where I'm standing, it seems to be working.
Regarding that vaccine Amy Hayes28 mentioned being offered to her father out in Split—that has absolutely nothing to do with DCvax. Her dad doesn't have GBM; he's dealing with metastasis. That's where all the confusion came from.
Just stay strong and get as much rest as possible. Sending love to the whole family.😉

hiddenhawk10 said:If we're talking about that woman, she basically skipped town from the States with a massive fortune and is now playing big shot over in China.

And that lady Prophet, who goes by "Doctor" (even though the head of the American Medical Association confirmed she doesn't actually hold a medical license here), is likely in cahoots with her, raking in huge sums of money.

That’s why they were begging anyone with half a brain to NOT FALL FOR IT!

Actually, it wasn't just a quick getaway. From what I understand, there's an active warrant out for her arrest, not just here in the US, but in Canada too.
Well, if that's the case, then everything is crystal clear.😠

Come on, seriously, can someone who actually watched this tell me if they really implicated that criminal Shen Chi as the mastermind behind everything?😲 I heard some whispers to that effect earlier.

Regarding the link, I think Polly mentioned it works starting Tomorrow—it’s basically just a "click on the link" situation.
Honestly, I have no idea why I was being such a jerk. 🙄

As for everything else, I'm not sure how much I'll be able to write before Friday's checkup. Maybe I'll just end up venting because I'm losing my mind. Looking at the people around me—at work and in general—it feels like everyone is deaf, blind, selfish, and terrified. As long as things stay this way, there's no doubt the number of horrors like this will keep climbing. And other stuff too. 👎 Everything about this whole situation just leaves a bad taste in my mouth.👎

Look, fine, things aren't great, but this current era definitely makes everything feel even bleaker. What matters is how we carry ourselves and fight back against it all. I've been feeling pretty heavy lately, too.🤮 I can't wait for the sun and spring to actually show up. That's usually when my spite kicks in and helps me function better.
I hope your mom is still holding up well and still "spoiling" you guys.😉

Thanks for the heads-up regarding the mistake. I'm going to go fix that right now.👍

Melissa Booth56 said:I actually had my eyes checked about two weeks ago, and my cardiologist gave me the all-clear too—apparently, everything looks perfectly normal on that front. I have to admit, though, the idea of seeing a neurologist absolutely terrifies me. I’ve been doing my best to steer clear of it, but it feels like I might eventually have to face it.
Do you think these symptoms could possibly be stemming from my neck? I tend to slouch quite a bit while working at my computer, and I’m dealing with constant tension and pain in my neck and shoulders. I wonder if that persistent pressure could be causing this blurred vision?

It’s possible, though personally, I have a hunch it might be tied to your sinuses or your eyes instead. Look, a neurologist is just a doctor like any other. If there is something more serious going on, you really need to face it head-on sooner rather than later. Most medical issues are a hell of a lot easier to manage if you catch them early.

Melissa Booth56 said:I’ve been dealing with low blood pressure quite consistently lately. On top of that, my vision is pretty poor—I have a -7 prescription, which actually just bumped up to a -8, though I haven't quite adjusted to my new glasses yet. I recently went in to get some things checked out, including sinus imaging, blood work, an EKG, and thyroid hormone levels, and everything came back completely normal. I'm 30 years old.

Go get that eye exam done if it's been more than six months and definitely get your glasses sorted out. What did the cardiologist have to say about it?
At this point, you're basically just looking at a neurology consult.

Melissa Booth56 said:My blood pressure never seems to climb above 100/60, though I suppose I’d be pretty thrilled if it actually did... As for my sinuses, I’ve been dealing with issues for as long as I can remember. An X-ray shows permanent congestion, even though I don't really deal with the typical symptoms you'd expect from a sinus infection—like a runny nose or constant congestion—just this persistent pressure in my head. What worries me most, though, is this sense of brain fog; it just feels like my head isn't quite clear. I guess, besides sinus issues, what else do you think might be causing this?

Yeah, that is low blood pressure. Honestly, it sounds like a bit of everything hitting you at once, but that low BP is likely the main culprit. Are you on any medications? My mind also jumps to your vision. Do you wear glasses? If so, your prescription might have shifted.
You really need to go for a full physical—get those sinuses checked out again, get a complete blood panel, an EKG... a real, comprehensive checkup. Once you have those results in hand, a pattern will emerge, and then your primary care physician can actually start solving the puzzle or refer you to the right specialist.
How old are you? If you're over 40 and starting to drift into menopause, these kinds of symptoms are definitely on the table.

Things were stagnant. When my dad asked if she wanted water, she actually opened her mouth and drank from the syringe.
I couldn't bear to watch anymore, so I went to stay with my girlfriend. She passed away this morning.😢
Honestly, I don't know what to say. I'm numb.

Oh, John, I am truly, deeply sorry😢. Look, if we're talking about bile reflux, it would have been nearly impossible to pull her back at that stage anyway, but still—it feels incredibly cold and unprofessional that they didn't administer that IV. It wouldn't have changed the outcome, but it would have made her more comfortable. John, you did everything you possibly could with the knowledge you had. If the medical staff dropped the ball somewhere, that’s on them, not you. Don't let guilt eat at you or carry this burden on your shoulders. We all knew from the start that our loved ones were facing something critical; often, it just boils down to trying, hoping, and clinging to any tiny shred of a chance we can find. Your mom passed away at home, surrounded by people who love her and stayed by her side until the very end, just like mine did. That matters. That’s huge. And please, don't let the fact that you went to be with your girlfriend instead of staying haunt you—I'm certain your mom would have wanted exactly that for you. It's good that you have someone close to lean on. My Gogo meant the world to me during his illness, especially when Mom passed.
Hang in there. If you need anything—advice, a listening ear, or just someone to vent to—reach out. I actually started a new topic in the psychology section when my mom died, so feel free to post there whenever you feel ready. It really helped me through.🙂

Have you checked your blood pressure lately?
It could be anything, really. Honestly, I’ve been thinking my sinuses might be acting up again.
Charles Newman said:I really appreciate everything you guys have done, but unfortunately, my mother passed away early this morning. I wish the rest of you a much happier ending.

Charles, I am so incredibly sorry.😢😢 Dear God, may she rest in peace.

I don't know if you even have the strength to type right now, or if it's even appropriate for me to ask, but if it is, can you tell me how things unfolded after those messages last night? Did you end up calling 911 again? It was honestly so frustrating watching them hesitate to start that IV drip immediately. I couldn't even sleep because I kept obsessing over it.😢

Timothy Perez86 said:Hey everyone, I’m checking back in. Honestly, I don't even know what to think anymore. A few days ago, they confirmed my dad had a stroke. That’s why his entire right side is paralyzed, even though he can still grip things pretty hard and move his left hand just fine. But all of this just makes everything more complicated, and I’m feeling lost. He’s already dealt with so many health issues. Because of this stroke, his third surgery is being pushed back, which means there's a real risk of that aneurysm rupturing again. He’s mostly just sleeping, though he is opening his eyes more frequently now. He still hasn't spoken. I’m terrified, and I honestly don't know what to do. I can't help but blame the doctors for everything else that went wrong—they refused to send him for an unknown scan after the first surgery, and even when he complained about having the same intense pain he had before the operation, they didn't listen. Poor guy is just exhausted; they're struggling to even find a vein for his IV... I'm only 15, and I feel like I have no one to turn to or talk to about this. On top of everything, school is driving me crazy because I can't focus at all; I'm just a total wreck. I don't want to dump all this on you guys, but I just needed to vent to someone. Wishing you all good health and strength in whatever you're fighting through.

Oh, honey,😢
Tell me, who else is helping look after your dad besides you? Which hospital is he at?
Look, complications like this can happen with an aneurysm regardless of how skilled the doctors are. So much depends on the condition of the vessel itself and his overall physical state. That’s going to dictate his recovery, too. Recovery from a stroke is definitely possible, but it’s a slow process. Once he stabilizes a bit, he’ll likely head to a rehab center in a place like Colorado for physical therapy.
I really hope your school is being lenient and showing some understanding given everything you're going through.
