Look, Angela Wright, take a look at this. 😢

If you look right here, it states they are currently in Phase 2 clinical trials (there are four stages total, though some consider the first one purely preclinical). It honestly seems like that’s the bottleneck—they haven't reached the stage where they test if this can actually help patients already undergoing "standard" treatment, or how it might interact with existing protocols. It sounds discriminatory, almost idiotic, considering there's nothing left to lose when you're fighting glioblastoma, but that's how these protocols work. At the end of the day, there is massive money moving through these channels, and plenty of powerful people have skin in the game.
Anonymous said:I just got an answer, and apparently, they can't include anyone who's already had surgery or prior therapy because they supposedly take samples during the operation??? That sounds ABSOLUTELY INSANE!!! So, Elizabeth Gonzalez55 and Amy Hayes28, were you guys actually offered this if you'd already gone through surgery and treatments?

😲That is just brutal.😢 Where did you hear that?
Look,🤔 my guess is it's simply because the trials aren't fully wrapped up yet. Everyone who "gets" the drug counts toward the study quota, and for the data to actually mean anything, patients can't have undergone other types of treatment. If they had, the final results would be a mess because you wouldn't know what actually worked... I'm just speculating here.🤷
How can I gain weight? in Health ·
You should probably get your thyroid checked out. With certain types of dysfunction, sudden weight loss can be a major red flag.
Anonymous said:Does anyone know if clinical centers actually store patient tumor tissue samples? Because they need a sample for this, but if her tumor was already removed, where on earth would they get one from?

They definitely keep them, though I have no clue how long they hold onto them. We actually managed to get my mom’s samples through some "internal channels" because we had them sent over to the States for a specialist—her dad's cousin, a well-known neurologist.
I'm guessing if they aren't using stored tissue, they're likely performing stereotactic biopsy—basically drilling a tiny hole in the skull to snag a little piece of tissue, like they're conducting some high-stakes PhD research.
Elizabeth Gonzalez55 said:This is basically a whole new protocol for cancer treatment. We’re heading to Mannheim the day after tomorrow to start the DCVax. We travel tomorrow and stay for a week. I'll keep you guys posted on the results!

Good luck. Please share every single detail; we're all incredibly invested because this represents a total paradigm shift in how tumors are treated.

Alex Mendoza2 said:First thing I'd try is adjusting my diet to include stuff that actually helps circulation, then maybe look into medication later on. Does working out actually help dilate blood vessels and get things moving better?

I'm asking because I feel like the blood flow is pretty sluggish in certain parts of my body... if you remember my previous thread, you'll know exactly what I'm getting at 😁 plus I've got a feeling the circulation in my legs is pretty weak too.

I mean, I’m just assuming here. Look, if you listen to the World Health Organization, they all point toward the Mediterranean diet as the gold standard for healthy living. We're talking plenty of fish, tons of veggies, whole grains, fruit, lean poultry, olive oil, and plenty of Omega-3s. Toss in at least 30 minutes of daily exercise—enough to actually break a sweat and get your heart rate up—and you've got the blueprint.
Taking Aspirin will definitely help protect you—guaranteed.
It’s really not that deep. No need to overthink it.
Look, just take a breath and stop stressing out so much. Summer is right around the corner, so you might as well make the most of it. Get out there, soak up as much sun as possible, hit the beach, and get moving around your local neighborhood.😉

Alex Mendoza2 said:Can anyone give me a rundown on which meds, foods, or drinks help dilate blood vessels versus what actually constricts them? Just throw out whatever comes to mind...
I’m also wondering if things like working out, going for walks, or running make much of a difference when it comes to widening those vessels?

Taking Tylenol 100 and Aspirin thins your blood, which ultimately helps get things moving better through your system. I take one a day just as a preventative measure against cardiovascular disease. The only real difference I’ve noticed is that Tylenol is a bit easier on my stomach compared to Aspirin, but when it comes to the actual effect, they do the exact same thing.
Why on earth would that be any of your business?

😕Well, I guess that's basically all the movie actually offers.
Karen Fox36 said:Hey there, my fellow fighters,
I heard today from a woman staying at the hospital with her mom about using wild cyclamen root. Apparently, there’s this old guy named Luke over in Mexico who provides these roots to be brewed as tea or used as compresses on the affected area starting on day 21. Just to be clear, this guy isn't out for profit like everyone else; he only asks for enough to cover the costs of harvesting the roots. I’ll try to dig up some more concrete details in the next few days and let you all know. On a side note, my mom is doing great. I honestly think that remedy from Cetinje she’s been taking for four months is really helping. I see people here complaining about high blood sugar caused by corticosteroids; my mom’s sugar is at 7, and that was after she polished off a whole bowl of grapes last night....

Their blood sugar is largely being spiked by heavy doses of dexamethasone. I assume that isn't the case with your mother, or am I mistaken?
It's fantastic that her sugar levels are within the normal range.👍 Regarding that formula from Cetinje, we actually heard about it from someone in Townsville. That stuff practically brought him back from the dead. Sadly, it seems like after a year of remission, he suffered a relapse that just spiraled out of control way too fast. My mom tried it twice but gave up because she couldn't stomach it at all.
Amy Hayes28 said:While digging through recent research, I stumbled upon DCVax(R) immunotherapy. It’s basically the cutting edge of what’s hitting the market right now—it can triple life expectancy while being way easier on the body than those brutal standard chemo rounds. Honestly, this is the only real breakthrough worth discussing when it comes to treating brain tumors!

Exactly. That's precisely what I was thinking, and vpavi actually brought it up after she spoke with a specialist from the Mayo Clinic back this summer.
The story of Jane Austen (Becoming Jane) in Movies ·
The movie is actually quite good. You can really see how she pulled certain scenes straight from her own life and woven them into her novels. It’s got a bit of a heavy ending, though—kind of a somber look at the end of her life.

self-suggestion and those herbal remedies—teas, supplements, whatever—before jumping straight to therapists or psychologists😉 if I actually find myself in a spot where I can't fix it without an expert (though I'm really hoping it doesn't come to that)
thanks to everyone for the advice so far....

Apparently, things like yoga and Tai Chi are great for unwinding.
I need some help in Health ·
It’s totally possible to see some spotting right around ovulation. If that’s what happened, you might see your period hit in about two weeks, though it could show up sooner. Your hormones seem to be a bit of a mess right now. Have you actually gone in to get some bloodwork done to check your levels?
Time to unwind... in Health ·
The only time I actually feel truly relaxed is during the summer when I’m out climbing and jumping into the water. Everything else is just pretending to be chill.
I love sipping some mint tea in the evening; it knocks me right out.
Oh, and nothing beats a solid massage to work out those painful muscle knots in my back.
Anonymous said:Angela Wright Any updates on when that new General Motors drug will be available here in the States? Wasn't that supposed to roll out at the start of the year?

Amy Hayes28 mentioned her dad was actually offered those injections. I'm betting it’s that immunotherapy I brought up before. Her dad turned it down, though—partly because of the cost and partly because he just didn't trust the process. I tried to get the specific name from her, but she couldn't catch it because her doctor is one of those types who barely says a word during a consultation.
So, there's definitely a new procedure in play; we just haven't pinned down the exact name yet.
Bottom line: if anyone has more intel on this, please speak up. I'm going to reach out to a few contacts to see what I can dig up.
Sorry everyone, we're spread thin here. There are so few of us and the workload is massive. We have to pull together as a unit, so the second anyone hears anything, please post it immediately.
I've been hit hard by illness today. My immune system is basically non-existent. Maybe I pushed myself a little too hard.🤷

jadesailor14 said:Unfortunately, most people just stick to their own 🤷
regardless of how much good advice you try to give them.

Does everything seriously have to be labeled a "bad idea" around here?
Beyond that, there have been plenty of times when someone would post about a health issue I’ve actually dealt with myself—like when I shared what my doctor prescribed and how it worked—only to get shut down by a moderator claiming I wasn't qualified to offer suggestions (it was regarding a fungal infection on my hands once). I ended up posting the exact same sentiment you did above after getting scolded myself. Isn't the situation being discussed here way too serious and complex for us to just sit back and withhold helpful input? I honestly thought these rules applied to all health-related topics across the board.
jadesailor14 said:Why? Because it bothers you?

And why are you all acting shocked that a duck would head to a lake just because someone felt like doing it?
People do much stupider things than this all the time.
This scenario is totally plausible.

Besides, let’s keep this thread open for the sake of anyone else who might mistakenly think they can fix their problems by swallowing handfuls of pills.

Also, Angela Wright, maybe dial back the attitude and work on how you talk to people.😉

It isn't just me who's bothered; plenty of other people in this thread feel the same way. This isn't about being "surprised"—it's about what this entire discussion has devolved into with all these random tangents. We already established the girl was immature and likely panicked, which led to her making a dumb mistake. But we shouldn't let this continue, and honestly, those "advice" posts suggesting she should just go buy more meds to fix herself ought to be deleted. In my opinion, leaving posts like that up is incredibly irresponsible regarding public health. It's been clearly explained to her multiple times—assuming she isn't just trolling—that the right move is to see a gynecologist and handle this professionally.
I don't see any issue with my communication, so what exactly are you implying?🤷
My temperament isn't something I can just switch off; it's in my DNA.😉
Alexander Lewis said:Why is this user under the handle "IvanicaPec" attacking people on this forum? She’s calling the author a troll (what does that even mean?), and then acts like she knows everything—I guess she’s reading from a crystal ball or something?

To me, what's being described sounds like a desperate attempt at a RU486 effect; she’d be better off getting actual medication instead of poisoning herself with these lies.

🙄
Troll-trolling: writing specifically to bait someone into an argument (Google works wonders, or so my crystal ball tells me)😛

I don't need a crystal ball. A little experience on this board is enough, and if you want to start, just read the rules and try to act like a decent human being for once.☕

jadesailor14, please, just lock this thread before more original posts flood in with these same tired ideas. The more I dwell on this topic, the darker it feels, which is weird because I'm actually pretty liberal on stuff like abortion, but this is just straight-up beyond anything...🤮
Maria Murphy76 said:Go ahead and prove that 200, 300, or 400mg of progesterone is actually toxic or that it puts the liver at risk, leading to all those endocrine issues and diagnoses you've cooked up. Instead of drawing little fairy tales here...🙂

Look, lady, I’m personally taking Yasmina, which has one of the lowest hormone concentrations out there—and trust me, if I didn't have endometriosis, I wouldn't touch it because it hits my liver hard. Some people handle this stuff perfectly fine, while others can't stomach it at all. Since everyone's biology is different and in medicine, 1+1 doesn't always equal 2, you actually need oversight from professionals rather than people acting like they're experts without a clue. You want more finger-painting projects😉?
If you're actually curious about the science, go ask your gynecologist. I'm sure they'd be happy to explain it to you, so maybe check with a real doctor before coming in here trying to lecture us with your version of medical "facts."
Maria Murphy76 said:hold on, let me get my word in before this thread gets locked 🙂

Angela Wright, I drink bourbon to heal my wounds—I’m basically Chuck Norris 😉

My point wasn't suggesting someone should just "chug a whole pack to fix a miscarriage." I was saying if someone actually did swallow a whole pack of birth control pills, it wouldn't be the catastrophe some people are panicking about. Think about the math: say you take 10mg of progesterone times 21 pills, that’s 210mg in a day. Do you have any idea how many women are on hormone replacement therapies involving 400mg of progesterone daily? It's not going to kill her, so this attempt at trolling is a total failure from the jump
🙂

😳
Look, why don't you go finish med school first, then come back and try to lecture us on this topic.☕ Did you even bother reading what wiredpuma5 wrote?
The way you phrased this, combined with the logic and analogies you're using, makes you sound like Chuck Norris playing a doctor in a bad comedy sketch.🙄
Honestly, all this talk about dosages and counts... please, keep writing, it's pure entertainment.🙂 Oh, and why don't you head over to the teen forums in your best professional tone so those kids know exactly what to do when things get messy.🙂
