Digestive issues or something else? in Health ·
Dana Cruz3 said:Yeah, whatever... I talked to my GP and a couple of other people—they basically told me I just worked myself up too much and that it hit me right where it hurts most...
They suggested some Xanax, maybe some minerals, vitamins, and said everything would be fine eventually....

Your family doctor isn't going to diagnose you with IBS. You're playing games here, and health isn't exactly a hobby you should be messing around with.🙄
You don't treat IBS by popping Xanax whenever you feel like it.
Do some actual research and think about what you're doing.😉
Lentils in Health ·
For the checkup, you'll want to have your contacts in—the doctor needs to see how they're sitting in your eye and if everything's staying healthy. But for the actual exam, you gotta ditch them for seven days beforehand.

I’m on Total too, but honestly, I’ve started skipping that cleaning solution regularly—it just doesn't sit right with me. My eyes end up feeling super irritated in the morning, and my lenses look all cloudy. To be real, I don't even notice when I skip it; I'd much rather just toss in one of those weekly tablets every seven days. 🙂

Bump this thread by at least a kilo and tell them to pack everything in bags.😬

My friends are telling me I have anorexia... 🙄

So, what am I even supposed to be then? (5'9", 125 lbs). Everyone’s always telling me I’m skinny, but they aren't saying it like I look sickly or anything—I actually look good. My weight is pretty much exactly where it needs to be; I've still got curves in all the right places. 🙂

but since you're such a pro in the kitchen and I can barely manage a bowl of cereal... 😬

👍you're practically my landlord at this point!

Betty Rivera14 said:why is everyone obsessed with age?

Because let's be real—an outfit that looks totally fine on a 17-year-old might look pretty out of place on an actual adult.

I'm about 5'9" and 176 lbs, and honestly, I think my age matters too, so I'll toss 26 in there for good measure.
I’d love to hit 158, but it’s a struggle—I go through these cycles where I'm either overeating or barely eating anything at all.🙄

Sean Nguyen4 said:Where can I grab those droppers? Like at a drugstore or an eye doctor's office?
If I bail now, I’m probably not gonna get back into contacts anytime soon, and $200 all that effort will just go down the drain.

Check your local eye doctor or CVS-$13

Sean Nguyen4 said:Quick question for the contact lens crowd: How long did it take before they actually felt normal and you could wear them all day without thinking about it? I just started wearing hard lenses two days ago, so I'm still in the "adjusting" phase.

Hey! Honestly, getting used to the shape and that feeling of having something in your eye happened pretty fast for me. I grew up wearing soft lenses, so the whole putting them in and taking them out part was easy. Hard lenses aren't too bad to put in, though I still rely on a suction tool to get them out—once you get used to it, you don't really feel like messing around with your fingers to pull them out.
As for them being totally comfortable? It comes in waves. Some days are perfect, other days they irritate me a bit, so I end up taking them out, cleaning them, and popping them back in a few times a day. Since it’s always so windy here in Chicago, I basically live in sunglasses to keep the dust from blowing into my eyes. Plus, your eyes definitely get more sensitive to sunlight when you're wearing contacts, so the shades make everything way more comfortable. Good luck!👋
Itchy water blisters: what could it be? in Health ·
florijan said:Hey everyone.

I’ve got these little watery blisters popping up all over my hands. Not sure how else to describe them. There are quite a few and they itch like crazy.
I'm guessing it's some kind of fungal thing.

Anyone know how to get rid of this?

Probably just an allergy. I get those whenever I wear cheap jewelry with nickel in it.
Just head to the doctor, grab some cream, and smear it on.

boldeagle3 said:Is it even worth it for my knees??🙂

Look, you can't really suggest long hikes or living off the land to someone who rolls out of bed at 7 AM, hits the office, and doesn't get home until 6 PM.
Nature? Yeah, right.😛

My knees have been acting up since I was a kid. Sounds dramatic, I know, but I’ve just learned how to live with it. Plus, I’m trying to stay off meds as much as possible. I deal with ulcerative colitis, so I already have enough pills to choke on every single day just to manage that. I’d rather not add more to the pile.😉
As far as the whole "getting back to nature" thing goes, I totally get that it’s usually impossible for people like us, but it’s the one thing I keep reading about that actually helps.😢

Joining the club 😳
Headaches, nausea... plus my knees (and lately my hip) have been clicking like crazy. As for meds—just taking a few Tylenols a day and rubbing warming gels on my neck, but nothing for the knees yet. 😎
I read somewhere that the real cure for weather sensitivity is just spending more time outdoors. I tried that this year while I was down in Florida and didn't feel a thing! But yeah, the coast is different. Out here in Oregon, it’s way too rainy to even think about heading out, and the mosquitoes this year are absolutely brutal. 😠
now what?!!! in Health ·
I don't know, those three months of you guys being together just feels a little thin to me. And yeah, I know that’s separate from the whole kid situation—maybe I’m just being selfish—but honestly? At the end of the day, what *you* want is the only thing that actually matters to me.👋
Best swimming goggles? in Health ·
You seriously have to try them!! My boyfriend bought me some Speedways, but I haven't actually used them yet—he's totally pulling my leg here. I’ve never really gone swimming with them, but I was dying to finally solve my contact lens struggle at the beach. (I have semi-hard lenses, so I end up stuck wearing glasses all summer long, which is just gross.)😉

jadesailor14 said:If you get the chance, grab some omega 3 and 6 capsules while you're over in Austria. I can't remember the exact name right now—they're those softgel things.
It’s way, way cheaper there.

Or maybe check out Canada—I haven't messed around with omega supplements much, but most other meds are a lot more affordable there.👋
Common Cold in Health ·
I don't really take anything, honestly. I might drink more of them, but then I’m constantly running to the bathroom 😁. Maybe it's just because I'm always freezing—it takes like 90 degrees before I actually feel normal 😎
Melissa Price6 said:Grab some rewetting drops for your contacts🙂
They work for basically any lens type.
Whenever something feels off, I just pop mine out and rinse them right in my palm.
😎

I actually have some😉 , but honestly? I’m a total wimp about it—it usually makes things worse. If even a tiny speck of dust or a stray hair gets in there, I lose it. Then it’s the whole ordeal of taking them out, scrubbing them, and putting them back in. I'm just high-maintenance like that.🙂
gentlecanyon92 said:😕 First time I’ve even heard of those tablets 😁

Nobody ever pitched them to me, and honestly, I’ve been fine for eight years without them... I've just been using Allstate for the last few years and haven't had a single issue.
I've worn soft contact lenses for all eight years. I swap them out every couple of years if my prescription changes, let them soak overnight in solution, and give them a quick clean with some solution before that... simple as that.
And look, if I'm feeling lazy, I can even nap with my contacts in if I really don't feel like taking them out.

Must be nice. I actually tried showering with my contacts in this year—but my eyes start stinging the second any water hits them 😎. Maybe it’s an issue with how we women do our eye makeup 😕
plus, whenever something gets stuck in my eye, it drives me absolutely insane until I can get it out. 😁
