Not really, though. The cutoff is usually 5, so a 7.3 means there's a little bit of inflammation going on somewhere.

Give the ICRP 84 PDF a look—it covers pregnancy and medical radiation exposure.
So, I’ve got a bit of a situation. Usually, my immune system is pretty solid, so this caught me totally off guard. It started yesterday morning with some light stomach issues—I quickly jumped on it with activated charcoal, tea, and a strict diet. Honestly, I just figured it was stress-related since the last month has been an absolute nightmare. This morning, I skipped my usual breakfast and coffee just to play it safe and avoid any more bathroom trips triggered by nerves. Everything seemed fine, so I finally grabbed a sandwich and a coffee at work, and—surprise, surprise—it hit me. It wasn't even much, just a quick trip to the restroom, but after taking that charcoal earlier, the nausea kicked in hard. My boss sent me home, and now here I am venting to you guys. I’ve had to head back to the bathroom again; nothing major, but that constant, nagging urge won't go away. My temperature is hovering around 98.6, my throat is a little scratchy, and my head feels all foggy. The nausea comes and goes, but I’m not really someone who can actually throw up—I’ve only done it twice in my life, and both times were from serious food poisoning.
Right now, I’m sticking to a super bland diet. For lunch, I had some brown rice and a little bit of lean chicken cooked with barely any oil. I also made some light chicken broth that I’ll have later. I'm sipping on tea and haven't taken any more charcoal since this morning. Just trying to rest as much as possible, though it's tough because I live alone and don't have anyone to whip up meals for me, and I'm honestly starving.🙂
My question for you all is: how do you deal with this crap??

Thanks
In Columbus, you can just pay for it through the medical school, so there might be a similar setup at the university clinics in Cleveland too.

Maybe it's just a hangover. Ever thought about cutting back?
Jokes aside, though—could it be because you're hanging out in smoky, stuffy places with zero airflow?
Rebecca Thomas said:I don't know... I doubt it's just the season because it happens way too often... at least where I live.
Give me a definition of "too often" 😁. At this rate, we're all going to end up obsessing over the weather forecast like it's our full-time job.

drink more water, eat a bit more salt (don't go overboard), and get moving.
if you're in an apartment building, take the stairs instead of the elevator...
eat clean and maybe have a glass of red wine😛
I can handle pretty much anything else, but this workout stuff? Not so much😉, ugh. I actually took today off just to try and clear my head, but clearly, I’m useless without my laptop stuck to me.
Rebecca Thomas said:I don't know... things just feel blurry for me... and it's been going on for almost six months now. I honestly think if it were epilepsy, it would have gotten way worse by now.
Is your blood pressure okay, though? I'm feeling pretty rough today—dizzy, vision's all fuzzy, and my BP is sitting at 88/57. This heatwave is absolutely killing me.
Look, man, you can smoke if you want, just don't touch cigarettes 😉
Low blood pressure??? I get something pretty similar, though mine is a bit milder. It usually hits me during my period or whenever there's a massive storm rolling through—my pressure just tanks. I’ve had it drop down to 90/60 before, and honestly, I start wobbling around, feeling this dull ache at the base of my skull and my vision gets all blurry. It most often happens about an hour after lunch; once my digestion kicks in, my blood pressure just takes another dive.
hit them up in the DMs—they’re way cheaper there

The thing is, my CRP keeps creeping up a bit every single time. A normal reading should be somewhere between 0.00 and 5.00.
My latest results came back at 8.76, whereas last time I was right around 5.00.
Does this actually mean something is up, or is this kind of expected?
Thanks for any insight.
Just some mild inflammation somewhere in your system.

Yeah, me too. I’m just not the type of person who sits there waiting until I feel completely empty 😬. Honestly, I’ve always wondered how people manage to get everything done in one single go. Half the time, I can't. My takeaway? Most people probably spend 30 minutes tied up in there, but for me, it’s a five-minute job max. I do what I can, then if I still need to finish up later, I’ll just head back. 😬
It seems pretty obvious that things get worse when you can't make it to the bathroom fast enough. It's likely more of a psychological thing, honestly. You might think some calming meds would help, but pills aren't the answer—they just slow everything else down too much. Activated charcoal helps with bloating, diarrhea, and that whole mess. No real side effects, aside from turning your stool dark, but you shouldn't use it constantly since it doesn't distinguish between the good stuff and the bad stuff in your gut; it just grabs everything
For me, it’s basically the main staple in my home medicine cabinet right alongside Advil 😉
Maybe give activated charcoal a shot
Nah, you gotta do lenses first, then the makeup. Seriously, let me see you try to blend eyeshadow or slap on mascara without getting gunk in your eyes if you wait until after the lenses are in 🙄. And about the water thing—sure, you can rinse a lens with water, but you absolutely have to soak it in solution (the big bottle) afterward. That tiny little saline squeeze bottle isn't meant for soaking, only for rinsing, so don't mix them up
.
As for getting used to them, just go by how you feel. Don't stick to whatever schedule some doctor gave you like it's gospel. If they start feeling scratchy and you know there’s nothing actually stuck in your eye, that’s your body telling you you've hit your limit for the day 😉
Rachel Brooks63 said:Maybe 2 or 3 times a day, pretty loose, but honestly not that often. Yesterday morning I basically just survived on dry toast and tea. I picked up some Linex (thanks, Brandon Thomas89 👍) and some activated charcoal, so I thought I was totally fine until I actually tried eating some real food later in the day.
Needless to say, I was glued to the toilet by 2:30 PM. 😁
So, look—stick to the diet, keep knocking back the activated charcoal, drink plenty of tea, and just forget about "real food" for a few days. Once things start settling down, you can slowly bring in stuff like plain porridge, plain rice 😬, or other light snacks. Just think of it as a literal internal detox. 🙂
ps. Forget dairy exists for now.
