Movie Trivia - Jeopardy! in Movies ·
David Price5 said:What kind of brain is used in the Movie Young Frankenstein?

Oh, right, I remember. That hunchback—the one whose hump can switch sides—was supposed to break into a brain museum to steal an Einstein brain, some big intellectual type. But the container breaks, so he ends up with a killer's brain instead. Is that it? 😁
Movie Trivia - Jeopardy! in Movies ·
I know there are already a few Jeopardy! threads going, but none of them really appeal to me. Unless the admin decides to delete this or move it elsewhere, we might as well keep going.
The questions will focus on specific details: production years, casting, titles in different languages, or obscure trivia within the plot... Get it? Here is a sample:
1. What was Ash's own hand trying to do to his owner?
2. What is the name of the movie starring William Shatner that was filmed in "Esperanto"?
3. Who said, "The Americans are coming!" and where?
4. After his acting career, Mickey Rourke moved into...
5. Which Tom Cruise Movie is named after a flower?
6. What was Tarantino's first screenplay?
7. In which scene does Peter Jackson appear in Braindead?
8. Name the actor who plays the truck driver in Duel.
9. List every single actor (and I mean all of them) who has played Batman.
10. What does an Alien have instead of blood?

See what I'm getting at? The rules are the same as any other quiz: once someone answers, they earn the right to ask the next question. Unanswered questions have a three-day window (there's a complaints thread somewhere on the forum), after which anyone can step in with a new one. If the previous asker answers their own question but fails to post a follow-up within 24 hours, the same rule applies. No hints, no paraphrasing, and no plot summaries—just short, direct questions. Unless absolutely necessary. Come on, you cinephiles, let's see what you've got...
And of course, just one question at a time. Someone answer one of these and post the next.
P.S.
If the moderator deletes this (perhaps I've earned it...), at least I tried.

Does it feature blood, sex, violence, robots, anime, monsters, zombies, or vampires?🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

Ethan Perez97 said:Just realized I picked The Punisher instead of Hulk... damn it, what a mess.

The Punisher isn't bad. Honestly, nobody cleans up the streets quite like him...

And where's Spawn? What happened to the Fantastic Four? Or Iron Man? Captain Orgasm?

I went with Batman. He’s always been my favorite.

Justin Patel said:Saw, The Grudge, Brokeback Mountain, Village, War of the Worlds, Hustle & Flow, Fahrenheit 9/11, any second involving Tom Cruise (not actually him, just how they treat him), and pretty much everything else...

You also forgot to mention Scary Movie 2...

Douglas Cooper said:I don't know about you people, but back home, we (meaning women) grew up watching nothing but horror movies. Nowadays, the issue lies with the films themselves—modern horror is a disaster—not with the women watching them.

😘 Exactly what I'm saying. Modern horror is absolute garbage. They lack that twisted sense of humor, the gore, the actual talent in the cast... Give me things like Evil Dead, Bad Taste, Braindead, House, Hairy Monster, or The Thing...🙏 🙏

Douglas Cooper said:Exactly. If you strip away that pseudo-moralistic messaging, all you're left with is macho posturing. That’s why I won't bother listing cheap horror flicks or action movies. And honestly, which idiot actually labeled Dirty Harry a "manly" movie?

That was Joseph Edwards86. 😎

I still think movies like Braindead, Evil Dead, and Bad Taste fall squarely into the category of masculine cinema. Women are largely sidelined in them, and let's face it—very few women are into horror. You'd have a better shot finding acting talent in Paris Hilton or Mariah Carey than finding a girl who genuinely loves horror...

Friday the 13th series—women just don't seem to get where the fun is in these movies...😬

Joshua Bennett4 said:Please, "Kill Bill" is an entirely female film. The protagonist is on a mission for classic feminine vengeance against some male pig, demonstrating female strength and power fueled by perfectly healthy hatred in every possible way. A beautiful film. 🙏 🙏
👍

Go Bridge, go! 🙂

True. But it's irrelevant. We always have Reservoir Dogs and grindhouse flicks.
And yes, movies starring Bruce Lee are also considered male films...

Deuce Bigalow, Die Hard, Animal—honestly, any flick starring Rob Schneider (some people just need a lifetime ban from ever stepping near a camera, much like Uwe Boll)—these are all just movies for guys. Women get more offended by them than a preacher during the Inquisition...
Once upon a time in the Wild West—there was exactly one female character, and she was a prostitute...
Basically, almost every western out there, except for Kevin Costner's Wilderness (which would’ve been a woman's movie if not for that final action sequence) and North with Jack Nicholson.
Hard-Hitting Blockbusters in Movies ·
Catch Carter starring Michael Caine—this is a guaranteed blockbuster for the guys. 🙏 🙏 🙏
Conan the Barbarian is for men; for women, there’s really only Red Sonja.

Morgan Ortiz91 said:It really makes you wonder how many women you've actually met in your life. Or more specifically: how many women you know have ever sat down to debate anything regarding Conan the Barbarian?😍

What is there even to contemplate? Conan is fundamentally a movie for men. Slaughter, violence, machismo, Schwarzenegger, blood, carnage, muscle, swordplay... Did I mention the violence?

Jose Chase2 said:The *Evil Dead* trilogy... 🙏

You're mistaken. Most of my female friends and even my ex love watching that movie. It’s got Bruce Campbell... were you actually doubting that?

Dirty Harry... John Woo — if there really is a woman out there who loves that movie, I’ll eat my hat... 🙏 😬

Look, we all know the old cliché about men being from Mars and women being from Venus. I suspect the same logic applies to cinema. Which movies do you think are strictly for the guys?
For instance, Die Hard—is there actually any woman out there who genuinely enjoyed that one?
Or maybe Mad Max...
P.S.
This isn't meant to be a discussion about discrimination. 😬

Benjamin Reed49 said:I think KRAMER VS KRAMER is absolutely brilliant... it’s such a fantastic piece of cinema that it’s practically a cult classic. Not quite on the level of Hollywood, but still...

Read the book instead. It'll hit you much harder than the movie ever could. And I honestly don't see what Hollywood has to do with it? Are you thinking of Lolita?
The Island of Dr. Moreau in Movies ·
Good grief, I thought we were discussing the original version starring Michael York. That version featuring Marlon Brando is absolute garbage—just a collection of mindless scenes. It had all the potential to be a genuine horror film, but instead, it plays out like some bizarre comedy. Personally, I prefer the book; War World is far superior to Spielberg's dull adaptation.
There’s one place you simply wouldn't visit: Texas. And that’s even after sitting through the Texas Chainsaw Massacre. Honestly, after seeing that place in Liberation, I wouldn't dare step foot in a forest alone... 😬
waxwork - I’ve been thinking about visiting one of those wax museums filled with horror monsters, though I'd probably need to be extra careful not to end up becoming part of the exhibit myself...
rapidbison42 said:Any movie starring Kate Beckinsale is a winner... regardless of what these mindless forum critics think!

Finally, someone with some sense. I found Van Helsing to be excellent entertainment, too. It’s pathetic how much some people complain about the lack of realism... honestly.

It doesn't matter, Nickname, at least you aren't like Milk.
