Wasteful? 😕 Honestly, I was expecting a somewhat more substantial response from someone holding such a high-level position—but oh well. I suppose you can just close the case then.
Thanks anyway!

Good day to you all.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank you in advance for granting me just a few extra minutes of your attention.

First—regarding that "controversial" snippet that sparked such a massive debate over my post on the Chicago Cubs forum—it was merely a tiny fraction of the entire thing, so I truly cannot fathom why the whole post was purged. Did you honestly interpret the entirety of my writing as hate speech, or was this simply a reaction from those who seem to wish they could see me burned at the stake? *Off with her head!* Truly, what is the harm in a bit of classic cartoonishness, if you insist on labeling it hate speech (even though, naturally, I see none of it here)?

Second: let me be quite clear—this was neither foreign propaganda nor did I have any intention of speaking against anyone based on their nationality. That specific part of my post served solely as an illustration of how collective hatred and condemnation are manufactured. Perhaps it was a poor choice of illustration—and I did admit afterward that I am not above being mistaken—but there was genuinely no reason to delete the entire message. I had no desire to incite further off-topic, politically charged bickering, nor did I attempt to engage in it. The heart of my post wasn't about some ethnic conflict; I simply chose one of those current, widely known issues as a passing example. Does that bother you? If so, then please just delete that, specifically that portion. By the way, I was actually one of the rare voices pointing out the very core of the subject, yet even that was scrubbed away despite having nothing to do with the minor controversial segment. So much for democracy, I suppose.

Third: if we are going to discuss hate speech, perhaps you should consider deleting that baseless, paranoid headline used by the thread starter. I am not spreading propaganda, whereas that particular forum member has repeatedly emphasized on this site how her blood boils at the mere mention of a certain group—and clearly, she couldn't resist doing it again this time. Furthermore, I find this fragmentation of my post to be absolutely unacceptable, especially since the original version can no longer be found. Does its very existence on the forum bother you (as you claimed), or does it not? I suggest you make a decision: either delete it entirely or stop playing this game of "yes there, but no here." 🤣

It is a good thing no one asked me to produce my birth certificate; I imagine some people would be terribly disappointed to discover I am not from that side of the pond. 🤦

Thank you!
Tight-fitting shoes in Fashion ·
Kill me now, but I couldn't find the right thread.

So, here's the situation. I picked up these blue velvet loafers, but the top edge is digging into my feet—it’s just so tight. I stopped by Walgreens and grabbed some shoe stretching foam (the Benefit stretch product from Leder und Schuh), and since this whole "foam" thing is a bit new to me, I was wondering has anyone actually tried this before? Specifically, since they are suede, you can only apply it to the inside, which makes me a little nervous because I have no idea if I'm going to end up with permanent stains if I'm not incredibly careful. Should I just go grab some rubbing alcohol at the drugstore instead, or is this stuff perfectly safe?

Anyway...

Shake the foam, spray it on liberally, and let it sit for a few minutes. For patent leather, crocodile skin, or suede, apply it only to the interior.

Composition: propan-2-ol: 10-25%
, or C3H8O—better known to us as isopropyl alcohol. Is that the same old devil my mom used to use on shoes back when I was a kid, or...? Well, unfortunately, I can't exactly ask her, seeing as Mom doesn't know what isopropyl alcohol even is, and frankly, neither do I—I'm not exactly a genius. 😁

I hope someone understands what I'm getting at. 🙈
Thanks in advance! 🙂
Need help picking the right sports insoles in Health ·
(Wow, what an incredibly fertile topic for discussion... 🙏)

I am looking to have some high-quality, comfortable orthotic insoles made, so I would love to hear any recommendations you might have beyond the ones already mentioned. Also—just out of curiosity—has anyone ever tried designing their own custom insoles using Microsoft? If so, how was the experience?

To be honest, I’ve already been burned once by a podiatrist—the insoles they provided were completely ill-suited to my needs; they were so incredibly rigid that I couldn't even squeeze them into a single pair of shoes. It was such a massive waste of money that I haven't even worn them once. So, I'm a bit hesitant to just throw cash at something else only to end up wandering aimlessly from one specialist to another, wouldn't you agree?

Specifically, I am struggling with Achilles tendonitis and plantar fasciitis. What I really need is something featuring a supination wedge—to address my pronation and flat feet—along with a slightly elevated heel and material that provides decent shock absorption. I would truly appreciate it if anyone who has dealt with similar issues could share their advice.

Thanks so much in advance! 🙂

What an absolute nightmare. 🙂 You honestly probably got off easy in the end. 🤣

A while back, I actually went to some recordings over at Cavke's—though, goodness knows if they still accept Medicare referrals, so you might want to give them a ring and check.

And what about Rib? Did you ever get a chance to ask them about that? 😕
Simply wonderful. 🙂

Do you happen to know how much more expensive this is compared to a standard Pap test? And I wonder—do any private practices actually utilize this method yet?

In any case, I am truly hopeful that we will see at least some of the private clinics adopting this technique in the near future. 🙂

Elizabeth Gomez3 said:Does anyone know where I can find something slightly more formal in larger sizes here in Omaha?

I have weddings to attend and absolutely nothing to wear. Any ideas? Just please don't suggest dresses or skirts... those are completely off the table.😁

Ugh, I don't know, but I’ll probably be in the exact same boat—only my situation is in Chicago, because I have these weddings looming over me this summer. I’ve put on a bit of weight lately and just can't fit into anything nice from my wardrobe over the last few seasons. Besides, I live in athleisure and casual gear almost constantly, so I don't really have a "special occasion" backup plan. T-shirts and tops aren't an issue, but finding decent, dressy trousers? That feels like a mission impossible. To be honest, half the stuff I see wouldn't have looked right on me even when I was thinner, let alone now that my options for stores carrying my size feel so limited.

And I absolutely loathe wearing gray. I really don't want to deal with the headache of hunting down the perfect cut or specific fabric. Good grief, it has been ages since I’ve been to a wedding! I truly am at a loss for what to wear that looks sophisticated but actually feels comfortable. Comfort is everything to me—I am definitely not one of those people who insists on squeezing into something they never wear, just to end up struggling to move or worrying about how to sit down properly. Or, heaven forbid, forcing myself into uncomfortable shoes. 🤣 I was thinking perhaps a tunic or a nice top paired with some slim 3/4 length or cropped pants, but that sounds easy to imagine and incredibly hard to actually find. Maybe I'll just cave and buy one of those trendy maxi dresses? It might actually suit me better since I don't do high heels, though I still think I'd feel much more secure in pants.

The funniest part? I personally love wearing white, but that is a bit awkward for a wedding, isn't it? There is always that one person who points a finger at you, and since I don't know the bride well enough, I have no idea if she would find it offensive or not.

And sandals are another nightmare. 🙂 I have foot issues—I'm seeing a physical therapist for them—so if I try to buy something as flat as a pancake, I end up in absolute agony. Modern footwear is just terribly uncomfortable, even those designer sandals that go for $200 or $300.

I think I might actually pass out if someone accidentally asks me to be a bridesmaid. Okay, okay, that’s drifting way too far from the topic... 😬

What a total ramble this post turned into. What I actually wanted to ask was:

Do you guys know if Macy's ever has good sales? 🙂
Donna Williams12 said:We thought we should jump in and say hello. We are a small company with top-tier products and genuinely good intentions—we simply wanted to present our lineup and answer any questions you might have.
Rock bottom? To introduce ourselves, provide information, and offer support to the people on this forum who are facing
challenges that our products might help alleviate? Honestly and truthfully?
It was actually our customers' feedback that prompted us to step up as the Silverex team. Our goal is merely to share information and exchange experiences.

Best regards,

I understand perfectly—you want to make sales, you pay for the advertising, and the ad itself is legitimate. Everything follows. But I think there was a misunderstanding: my criticism was directed exclusively at the administrator, or the moderator, or whoever handles that side of things. In the post that was deleted, I explicitly noted that it wasn't my intention to slander or discredit your company—even though, truth be told, I certainly share some of the same impressions as those who have commented here regarding your presentation style. It just seemed more logical to me to direct my critique right where it belonged—on the actual, live topic—rather than through messages, wishes, or side comments. Though, I am fully aware that I made an error; by engaging in somewhat tasteless off-topic chatter, I likely unnecessarily cluttered a thread that someone paid for.
Regardless, I hope the admin was keeping an eye on this thread. Thanks and goodbye!
Angela Wright said:How on earth am I supposed to interpret my own deleted post? It’s quite a conundrum, isn't it? One moment there is a coherent thought—well, as coherent as my thoughts usually get—and the next, poof! Gone. Vanished into the digital ether. Does it mean what I thought it meant, or was I perhaps being too... exuberant? One wonders if the subtext survived the deletion, even if the text itself did not. What do you all think?😕
If debate and differing perspectives aren't actually welcome here—if they’re just seen as an inconvenience—then why not simply lock the thread and go ahead with your little advertisement in "silence"? Is that really too much to ask?

I truly regret that I didn't simply copy my previous post and move it over to the main forum—that is where it actually belongs, after all. And now, I find myself in this rather awkward position: how am I supposed to determine if I’m even permitted to advertise my Voodoo dolls, despite them carrying an official certification from the International Voodoo Association? I shall merely reiterate my point—it is frankly the absolute bottom of the barrel when health legitimacy is being validated via an advertisement on a PDF. Is that really how we operate now? It seems far more appropriate to have a legitimate, responsible, and officially approved advertisement than some random person's one-off promotional post—which, let’s be honest, nobody is going to take seriously anyway. This entire approach feels incredibly irresponsible and rushed, don't you think?

Not too long ago, one of my threads was actually deleted—apparently, it was flagged for potentially turning into a "top-shop" style promotional hub—when my only intention was to provide better information and foster a genuine exchange of experiences among fellow PDF users. Is it really such a crime to want to share knowledge? I truly just wanted us all to be better informed!

steelwalker86 said:Of course, that's easy to say when you're buying Replay and other high-end brands.
Some people simply don't have the budget for those labels. Regardless of the topic, you're constantly bragging about what you picked up at Replay or wherever else.
I know you're a moderator, but give us a break. 😠

"I'd much rather head to a farmers market."
A farmers market is also a terrible place, isn't it? Shame on you.

🤣 🤣 🤣

Well, if it's such a terrible place... 😬 I mean, goodness knows about the quality of stuff you find at those stalls, but let’s be honest—clothing styles intended for larger sizes usually don't sit nearly as well on a body, and frankly, they often don't even look particularly appealing when they're just hanging on a rack. 🤷

Personally, I don't have this obsession with Replay—nor do I have money to burn, for that matter—so I wasn't even looking to spend anything at that Kik store; the items I spotted right in front of the entrance were more than enough for me. 🤦 😢

As far as clothing goes, I actually quite like Gerry Weber—especially their jeans—even if the price tags aren't exactly friendly unless you catch them during a clearance sale.
At Peek & Cloppenburg, you can actually find some decent pieces if you're a size 16, maybe a 18 if you're lucky (brands like Gerry, Christian Berg, Jake's... oh, and there's that one brand, Marco Pecci, or Mario Pecci, whatever it is... it's nothing spectacular, really. And one more thing... gosh, I remember trying on these absolutely stunning jeans there, but I can't for the life of me recall the brand—I've never even heard of them before!).
granitewalker17 said:I haven't sent anything through the mail this year, so I was wondering—what's the best way to ship a perfume?
Should I use a box as a package with a declared value, or just an envelope as certified mail?
I'm fairly certain it weighs less than 250 grams... and the value is $23....
What would the price difference be between the first option and the second?

Thanks! 🙂

Oh, I wouldn't dream of sending that in an envelope. Honestly, when it comes to packaging, I’m a bit of a neurotic mess—I feel like the only thing that could actually destroy my shipments is a literal bomb. 🤣 If you try to shove a perfume bottle into a standard envelope, you simply don't have enough room to give it the extra cushioning it needs. Even with those bubble-mailers they sell at the drugstore, it feels risky.

You should probably check the USPS website for their specific regulations. I'm not entirely positive, but if I recall correctly, liquids can only be shipped as packages—and they absolutely must be properly insulated.

The minimum declared value you can list for a package is $27.
As for calculating the shipping costs, you can find all those calculators right on the USPS website.
- Magnesium is generally beneficial for the body—of course—but I don't think it’s going to be the magic bullet for this specific issue.
- To be safe, you should really consult a professional orthopedist. Not because some private clinic is going to try to upsell you on overpriced insoles—though, heaven knows, they might—but simply so you can get a clear, objective view of what is actually happening with your gait.
- It sounds to me like you likely need footwear that offers more structural support—perhaps something with better arch support or a stability wedge? You might even want to look specifically into the "motion control" category. (If you're looking for specific models, Google is your friend, or you could check out those specialized running forums where people discuss this constantly). Furthermore, you probably need improved cushioning—something responsive with a good amount of shock absorption—along with a softer base. However, one must be careful! If the shoe is too flimsy, you might find yourself saying goodbye to any meaningful support altogether. There are various athletic insoles out there—for instance, things like Superfeet Synergizer and similar brands—but I can't say for certain which ones truly perform. Do pay attention to the "forefoot cushioning" as well, rather than just focusing on the heel.
- Please, do be careful not to throw too much money away on insoles. And if you do decide to go the professional route, don't just wander into any random shop; not everyone knows how to do this properly. Often, they use materials that are far too rigid—which makes them incredibly uncomfortable to wear—or they make the positioning of the insole nearly impossible. (At least, that was my experience; I have a pair sitting in my drawer right now that I'd love to bite out of pure frustration, but they are simply too hard, and since I consider myself something of a gourmet, I just can't bring myself to do it...). If you do seek help, I would suggest finding a place that utilizes computer analysis rather than just taking a simple physical mold of your foot. On the various fitness boards, people mention a specific shop in Oregon that offers this service for free when you purchase shoes. Honestly, I have no idea what the standard is in our local American shops, nor how expert the staff might be. As for private orthopedists who perform these analyses, I've only ever heard of Kinematics, but I don't know their reputation or their pricing. Truthfully, I should probably have some custom made myself, but I'm hesitating because I have no idea where to go or how much they'll fleece me for, and whether I'll actually be satisfied with the result... I'd much rather solve this by just finding the perfect pair of running shoes.
- Stretching, stretching, and more stretching.
- For some relief, you could try massaging the area—maybe some rosemary essential oil or something similar—but let's be realistic: it won't solve the underlying problem.
- Whatever you do, do not push through the pain while running. I know how frustrating that is—believe me, I do—but if you absolutely must get outdoors, why not try brisk walking instead? And, as I mentioned before, focus on strengthening your calf muscles. And stretching. Stretching. More stretching. And rest. 😁

By the way, it would be quite helpful if you could tell me exactly what kind of shoes you are currently running in?
And regarding those athletic insoles—what kind were they exactly, and where did you have them made? (Feel free to send me a private message if that's easier.)
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
Last year, I actually went to Dr. Cavka’s private practice—he's a primary care physician there. Back then, they were still accepting insurance referrals, though I suppose things might have changed since then? It might be worth checking in to see what their current wait times look like if you're going through your provider's referral process. If you decide to just pay out of pocket, though—well, you can usually get seen within just a few days.

Medikola also accepts insurance referrals.

Looking for a specialist... in Health ·
I am currently on the lookout for an endocrinologist—specifically someone who specializes in adrenal gland disorders. I’m really hoping to find someone with a warm, approachable bedside manner rather than a cold, clinical type.

On another note, does anyone have recommendations for where I might go for physical therapy using my Medicare referral? Is there a particular clinic in town that people swear by?

Additionally, I’ve started needing to see a rheumatologist as well.🤣

Thanks so much in advance for any leads! 🙂
Sanitary pads vs. tampons: What are your favorites? in Women's Health ·
I mean, what is all this about now? There are already countless threads out there discussing pads and tampons—it’s not like you can't just Google them in five seconds. I don't really see why we need a whole new discussion on something that's been covered to death, right?

As for Bath & Body Works, I have to say, I'm not exactly thrilled with their stuff—it feels a bit overpriced for what you actually get. Personally, I much prefer sticking to the organic cotton liners from Whole Foods.

copperbadger36 said:It appears that the Bivacine—both in its powder and spray forms—has been completely phased out of circulation... leaving us with nothing but the cream version available now. Isn't it curious how these things shift? One day you're reaching for a specific delivery method, and the next, everything has changed!

If you find that you absolutely require more—and I mean truly, desperately need it—don't worry; I still have a bit of a stash of the powder left over. 😁

Ah, well—it’s certainly different when you aren't right here in the heart of the city! 😢 Well, I find myself contemplating a bit of a trade—is anyone else feeling the urge to swap some essentials? I am offering various vaginal health products—you know, the necessary supplies—along with some Target gift cards! Does anyone have anything interesting to barter? 🤣

Honestly, when I’m dealing with those cramps—and let me tell you, they can be absolutely brutal—I would much rather just sit there and suffer in silence than take anything at all. Is that crazy? Perhaps. But I have this lingering, slightly paranoid tendency to worry about how my body will react to medication; I’ve always been a bit hyper-sensitive to side effects, if you know what I mean. I'd honestly rather endure the pain than deal with the uncertainty of a reaction. 😳 Honestly—when I have somewhere important to be, I simply refuse to let a little thing like feeling terrible stand in my way! I just take some DayQuil and make sure to pack a few extra doses in my bag—because, really, who wants to face the world feeling like they’re fading away? Isn't it better to be prepared? 😁

My tea collection is easily my most vital resource—I’ve actually cataloged 24 different varieties now 🤣—we go through them quite rapidly, and there are always at least a few that serve a truly therapeutic purpose. 😍
A little bit of essential oils and some Tiger Balm.
Natural cough syrup. Propolis spray.
Those ear hygiene swabs we picked up back in the summer and still haven't actually gotten around to using.
Bepanthen and things of that nature.
An Ocean spray nasal mist that I really ought to just toss out.
Some Aktivin H that nobody ever actually touches.
Rhodiola extract, which I constantly forget to take.
Acidosalus, depending on the cycle—though it's a bit of an expensive habit to maintain it constantly.
Pepto-Bismol or just plain baking soda.

Adhesive bandages. I don't have any gauze, though I do have that first aid kit I keep in the car. 😁 I try to ensure we have rubbing alcohol on hand, but currently, I am without it; I only have those hand sanitizers, and as for disinfecting objects... well, I'm completely out.

I make every effort to avoid medications, yet it seems we have amassed quite a substantial collection. We tend to stock up all at once, only to discard everything when the expiration dates pass. On our current "menu" of classic junk, we have:

aspirin, Voltaren, Tylenol, Lupocet, and those lidocaine lozenges.
Imodium.
Amoxicillin that was prescribed just in case—it was never actually taken, it was just picked up from the pharmacy to have it on hand, heaven forbid—much like the Dalacin cream, the Gyno-Daktarin, and the Canesten vaginal tablets.
His blood pressure pills; aside from the analgesics, they are the only true essentials.
Some Betadine left over from a bout of tonsillitis back in 2008.
Beloderm cream, which is also destined for the trash.

And please, just spare me if you approach me regarding Jeremiah! 🙂 😁

Oh, it would be wonderful to have some Bivacin; I recently threw out the old stuff, and I can't even remember if it's still available for purchase—I recall there being some sort of shortage... 🤔 and that silver-based ointment for burns... but honestly, who has the energy to keep buying all this? Heavens, it's too much trouble...

If you want to do a bit of digging online, I'd suggest searching for the term "orthostatic hypotension."

It can actually be triggered by certain medications or other factors as well—it’s quite a nuanced thing, really.

By the way, if you happen to be fasting, please do consider stopping; your health is far too important for that.
