Raymond Ortiz89 As I was saying: What is there actually to analyze here? This season has been nothing but a string of disappointments—bad, bad, and just plain bad. And don't even get me started on the pit crew. Their pit stops have become completely unreliable, which is frankly unacceptable at this level. When you're operating at the top tier, you expect precision, but right now? It’s a total mess. ☕
With key figures like Jean Todt and the leadership from Mercedes moving on, there’s been a massive reshuffle behind the scenes. So many roles have shifted that the old synergy just isn't there anymore. It doesn't feel nearly as synchronized or well-oiled as it used to be. I suppose it’s just one of those things where you have to give it some breathing room; it'll take a little while for everything to settle into its new rhythm and for the team to find its footing again.
Edward Howard2 said:this thread actually holds the record for most posts—it’s officially the busiest race discussion we've seen all year. No other racing thread has even managed to break the 700-post mark. 👋 It’s even more impressive when you consider this thread only popped up on Friday during free practice, whereas some of the earlier topics were getting started nearly ten days before the actual race. 👏
you clearly weren't around back when the VN SAD 2005 was happening ☕
Daniel Price23 said:Can someone please walk me through what happened to the Ford pit crew? It used to feel like they were winning races right there in the pits, but lately, it seems like they're just creating their own headaches. 😕😕😕 😕 😕 😕 😕 😕 😕 😕
It’s actually quite straightforward when you look at it. Between being let down by the "traffic lights" on a couple of occasions and taking unnecessary risks that just don't pay off... that's really where they're losing ground.
wiredseal7 said:I can certainly see that point. Rosberg put on an impressive performance, but then again, Alonso looked incredibly sharp once he managed to pull away from truo, if I recall correctly. Later on, Hamilton mentioned he didn't want to take unnecessary risks, though my impression was that he just couldn't quite find a way to stick to Rosberg's gearbox. Since we're talking about Williams and Renault here, this kind of track really highlights the difference between a truly elite F1 driver and someone who is simply being carried by a fast car in other races.
Williams (and likely Renault as well) seems to have excellent mechanical grip, which explains why they were performing so well today and why they usually do well in Monaco. Unlike most other circuits, aerodynamics aren't nearly as decisive here.
It's actually for that very reason that I suspect these two teams will make the biggest leap forward next season. 🙏🙏
wanderingdriver7 said:Exactly! We didn't see much of that during the Schumacher era unless the weather went absolutely haywire, but I have to say, having a three-second cushion per lap while everyone else gets stuck behind a slow driver is a massive advantage in Formula 1. If Rosberg could have just held on for one more lap, he probably would have walked away with the win.
I think Morgan Murphy7 was actually talking about Alonso 😛
wanderingdriver7 said:I’m honestly struggling to see what was so legendary about Rosberg’s drive here. I mean, credit where it's due for the result, but when everyone else is stuck grinding behind Fisichella and that absolute wreck of a car, of course he’s going to pull away. It’s almost like he was just making up for that penalty he picked up earlier.
He simply executed better than anyone else on the track. ☕
Look, I’m not planning on touching this thread unless it becomes necessary, but if this turns into another flame war where everyone is just throwing insults instead of actually talking, I will step in, lock it down, and start handing out bans ☕
rapidtinker45 said:The guy who started this thread is basically a pro at trolling and popping off these kinds of topics, so I just wanted to flag his latest nonsense for the mods. As for my comment about IQ, that was just my own personal take (like it says at the end), especially considering all the evidence I already laid out 🙂
If you're feeling that way about it, there's always the report button to alert the mods ☕
a) we've actually covered this several times already... b) it’s basically just an open invitation for trolls, flame wars, and pointless spam. ☕
And honestly, I think mistybear87 made a great point earlier—if you have something specific to say to me (or anyone else on the board), why not just send a direct message? There’s really no need to start a whole new thread for it.
Just a quick heads-up for next time: please take a moment to think before hitting that "new topic" button. It helps to check if someone else has already started a similar discussion in the last few weeks, or if what you want to share could easily fit into an existing thread, like our gossip or news sections.
