FIA, please, just make a final ruling already and let us move on...

You've got a point there; *lock, stock, and barrel.*

The starting lights ignite from that single housing positioned right above the grid, though I suspect there might be others tucked away back there as well. 🙂

It’s an interesting question when you step back and look at the trajectory of their careers at that time.🤷

Jason Campbell70 said:The FIA really needs to be held accountable here. Isn't it frustrating when the officiating feels this inconsistent? It seems like they’re being far too quick to wave those red flags, and frankly, it feels unjust.☕

One really has to wonder if we should be asking some tough questions here—or perhaps even holding Charlie Whiting accountable. After all, he’s the one ultimately responsible for the light signals, isn't he? ☕

Is there any way we could put together a single page that lists all the technical terms alongside the specific translations used in this volume?
I just think it would be incredibly helpful when we're digging through an English text; it’s much easier to grasp the core concepts when you can see exactly how they map over to our terminology.

So, here is a little bit of trivia for you: the McLaren MP4/2 never actually competed in a Formula 1 race, yet it showed up at the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb back in 1994 and absolutely shattered the track record immediately. ☕

Computer simulations have since suggested that this specific machine was a full five seconds faster than anything on the grid from 1985—essentially making it several years ahead of its time, especially when you consider how much more powerful those turbo engines were compared to a standard Chevrolet V8.

Even Jones himself—who spent the 80s working with the modified McLaren MP4/2 models—got behind the wheel to test it at the IndyCar circuit, where he ended up breaking the record there too. The car launched off the line like a rocket without any wheelspin whatsoever. Interestingly, the engineers had this rather "wild" idea during testing: in wet conditions, they decided to fit slick tires to the rear axle, reasoning that the front and intermediate tires would leave just enough of a dry trace behind them to provide grip. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

Of course, after seeing how the McLaren MP4/2 literally tore through the competition during the winter testing sessions of 1982/83, the Elizabeth Hughes stepped in and implemented a rule limiting cars to a maximum of four wheels. 👎

I wasn't entirely sure about the Ferrari situation myself—why on earth are they acting so high and mighty? 🙄

Tyrrell’s "two front wheels" concept was brilliant. So brilliant, in fact, that even the top teams ended up copying it.👍

It was such a successful setup that they actually won races with it before the regulations were changed to ban it. They eventually introduced a rule mandating just four wheels per car to shut that down.
williams was playing around with four rear wheels once, and I've heard rumors that Ferrari tried something similar too.

There’s absolutely nothing wrong with sharing your own observations, is there? I've always felt that everyone has a unique perspective to offer, and stepping up to voice what you see is perfectly fine by me.
Is it worth getting worked up over? I don't think so. Arguing, being fake, or just outright trolling... none of that is really what this should be about, is it?

On the other hand, if Renault's mass damper is being labeled as a movable aerodynamic device, I find myself wondering why there hasn't been any significant pushback regarding these engine covers yet. It makes you wonder, doesn't it? Or was there perhaps some level of politics at play behind the scenes? ☕

Arthur Doyle70 said:Is this evidence actually based on objective engineering standards? Or is it just based on the word of one of the most disorganized and legally ambiguous organizations on the planet?

P.S. And the boss is a neo-Nazi sadomasochist.
🤷

I’m genuinely curious.

I have a suspicion that the people in charge of technical scrutineering were all recruited via Craigslist under the "Miscellaneous" category.

Look, you know as well as I do that there isn't really any room for interpretation during measurements. If the reading falls outside the permitted limits, it's illegal. Period.

And your argument about disorganization doesn't really hold water for one specific reason... any rule that allows for even the slightest bit of wiggle room will eventually be bypassed by someone, one way or another. The only way to prevent that would be for the FIA to hand every team a rigid blueprint and forbid even a millimeter of deviation. But then tell me, would you actually want to watch a Formula race where every single car was identical?☕

Jason Campbell70 said:Oh my goodness,😢

Here is a little bit of light reading material just for you.👍

Did you catch the Grand Prix of Spain?
I assume you did. If so, you surely noticed that the rear wing is moving. It vibrates and shifts from side to side. Honestly, I don't care about the underlying cause. Is it due to engine vibrations, oscillations traveling through the suspension, or perhaps some telekinetic power possessed by a driver's pet? I DON'T CARE.

The fact remains that any movable aerodynamic component is strictly PROHIBITED under the F1 technical regulations.☕

By the way, this movement is even more pronounced on the Red Bull, which is exactly what I pointed out during the discussion regarding the Grand Prix of Bahrain.

Can you both just calm down a little bit? Peace and love, please!

The FIA conducts its own rigorous testing to check the flexibility of wings and other aerodynamic parts.

All this chatter doesn't mean anything until the FIA actually steps in and declares a specific bodywork design illegal for one reason or another.

Until that moment, we have to treat it as a legal modification, and frankly, I have no desire to listen to any more childish bickering over the subject.
Consider yourselves warned.☕

Don't worry, we all know it by heart. ☕
It’s just the right time for someone to kick off yet another debate about whether it was Schumacher or Senna, or perhaps more talk about Schumacher's podium finishes—or whatever else comes up. ☕

I stumbled upon this on an old forum, but nobody 🤷 seems to care. Does anyone actually get why they presented the spoilers for Kimi and Mass differently for the VN Spain😕

? Is there some logic I'm missing here?

It’s just a flexi-wing, 😬really.

Arthur Doyle70 said:I remember reading somewhere that the green light actually triggers the moment they pull the fuel hose away—just some kind of sensor mechanism. 🤷

But what happens if they haven't finished putting all the tires on yet? 😬

Well, I assume the car would still be up on its jacks in that scenario, but wouldn't it be quite the sight if a driver floored it and sent a mechanic flying while they were still tightening a lug nut? ☕

Just because they aren't putting it on display doesn't mean the talent isn't there. It’s much like him—he didn't really reveal what he was truly capable of until that very last race, wouldn't you agree? 😬

darkmarlin16 said: I’m honestly just captivated by that defensive driving at Monza. When Schumacher was halfway through the race and still had a car that was a full second faster per lap ahead of him... you have to respect that.

I remember that race like it was yesterday. For me, that stands out as Alonso's greatest victory. It isn't easy holding off a car that's a second faster for thirteen whole laps—especially when it's the same Msch that Pilatus claims is the greatest of all time, haha. My heart was pounding, my hands were sweating, and when he finally crossed that finish line, I actually shed a tear of pure joy.

If we're looking at races in that same legendary tier, you've got his first win in Canada, that home victory in Spain, and those two races in Brazil where he clinched the World Championship.

Wait, wasn't that actually at Imola? The very same Imola where Schumacher pulled the exact same stunt against him a year later? 😬

It's truly incredible how you "fans"—whether you're rooting for Alonso or Schumacher—seem to have such incredibly selective memories. ☕
