It definitely doesn't help keep your blood pressure down. 😁
I don't know if it's just me, but I've been having some really frustrating issues lately. First off, my browsers—both Chrome and Edge—keep logging me out every thirty minutes or so, which is just incredibly annoying when you're in the middle of something. And then, to make matters worse, the multi-quote feature just stopped working entirely. Now, it seems like even the basic quote function has completely broken down. I guess things are just breaking one after another at this point. 😁 I’m kind of expecting that they might actually trim things down to fit within the limits of an X post, where only the middle section of the content ends up being published. I guess we'll see, but that feels like a possibility.

I don't know about some grand cosmic message, I just feel lucky that everything hasn't completely fallen apart today, you know? Like, at least nothing major crashed onto the highway.
Jeremy Johnson18 said:All I can tell you is that you aren't alone in this. For me, it usually happens when I've been typing out a post for a few minutes, and then right when I go to hit submit, it just kicks me out. Now, I always make sure to copy whatever I've written before I even think about clicking reply. Just in case it logs me out, so I can just paste it back in later.
But it isn't really a true logout, either, because if I just do a quick refresh, it brings me right back to the forum and magically logs me back in. That's a pretty important detail, I guess. It's almost like the forum has some kind of login timeout where it momentarily forgets I'm logged in and then suddenly remembers again. 🙂
I haven't tried refreshing yet, but I usually just hit back and copy my text. Thanks, I'll give that a shot, though I am still wondering what on earth is actually happening... since there hasn't been any recent update across our devices that would explain it.
Over the last few days, the forum has been logging me out every couple of hours. It’s just constant. I’ve been logged in without any issues for years, so this is all pretty new. The weird thing is, it’s happening on two different phones, my laptop, and my desktop too—even though I always make sure the "keep me logged in" box is checked. I guess there might be some reason for this? Does anyone have an explanation for why this would happen?
No, I only cropped out the specific part you can see here. I didn't go as far as actually power cycling my AT&T router or anything. Honestly, I really don't think the issue lies with the provider or even the OS itself 🤷
It just lasted for a few hours, and then it completely vanished—it hasn't happened again since yesterday.
It honestly took me a good hour or so to figure this out. At first, I thought a simple page refresh might do the trick, then I tried double-checking the main address, but after that... nothing worked at all. Down at the bottom of the page—and it’s not even a pop-up, just part of the layout—it says I can shoot an email to the forum admin if I feel like I didn't actually do anything to trigger the block, since I usually follow the rules. And believe me, I really didn't 😁
I have a question for you all. Actually, I think I have two questions 😁 In the near future, I’m scheduled for a minor surgical procedure under general anesthesia. The hospital staff advised me to sit down with the anesthesiologist to make sure everything is cleared for anesthesia, specifically because I have Multiple Sclerosis. I guess I'm wondering what kind of specific MS details the anesthesiologist actually needs to know, and how those two things even relate to one another? My second question—which I might also post in the thyroid discussion group, but if anyone here happens to know—is about my thyroid. I need to get my thyroid checked before the surgery because there's a possibility that the anesthesia might not work properly due to thyroid issues. What exactly happens if I'm under anesthesia and my thyroid hormone levels aren't where they should be? Or, would it cause any problems if I'm currently taking Synthroid? Has anyone else here gone through something similar?
There's that white hotline available (plus email), and I suppose you could always try reaching out directly to the Department of Health and Human Services too.
So, I was wondering about this situation where you’ve been traveling to a different city to see a specific specialist for quite a while now. If I've been seeing the same doctor consistently, and they’re the ones proactively scheduling my follow-up appointments, will Medicare suddenly step in and mandate that all those check-ups have to be moved to the local clinics listed on my insurance card? Or is everything just going to stay exactly as it has been?
velvettrucker52 said:Start some threads, get talking... who's stopping you? If you feel there's a shortage of certain topics, don't look at the moderators. On the women's corner, aside from politics, nothing is off-limits. You can talk about whatever you want. Honestly, whining about how there are too many "this" types of posts and not enough "that" type of debate isn't going to change anything.
When my posts about my kid, my dog, or whatever else happens to be my life 🙏 manage to offend a massive crowd—much like what happened in this specific thread—then we can start comparing our levels of "venting."
Seriously, Jamie, do you really need to take these cheap shots? Look, fine, but I'm just not interested in dragging this out. I have no intention of continuing this conversation.
I wasn't even being snarky. I'm sorry if it came across that way, but what's your deal? 😕 I'm starting (or starting) threads, and I'm definitely not trying to belittle anyone else's topics, but looking at the first page, it's just a massive wall of threads about shopping, stores, plastic surgery, weight, girlfriends, where to buy things, and who to buy them from. That's all great, really, but that shouldn't be everything there is to talk about. Nobody is attacking the moderators because of the subject matter; I never said that anywhere. I was just stating my opinion—that there are just too many of us here for everyone to have the exact same taste in discussions. I mean, come on, we all live different lives, and I certainly don't expect you and me, to say nothing of everyone else reading and writing, to be interested in the exact same things. I mentioned the kid and the pets because that's how I recognize you here on the women's corner; am I wrong? I don't think that's a bad thing at all, truly, it's just that I don't see you actually participating in the discussions. Whatever the reason might be—whether you're just not feeling it, or you're busy, or you lack the will, or maybe you used to post on similar sites before—honestly, the reason doesn't matter to me—but I just don't see you engaging, aside from moderating. My only takeaway is that maybe this kind of stuff doesn't interest you right now, which is totally fine, but I could easily say that I'd write about other topics too. You said that the forum isn't the place for those kinds of discussions, implying that's not what the forum should be used for. I just don't agree. I really believe the forum is a place for conversation. I'm not sure why you felt insulted; that wasn't my intention. It's not like I go around insulting people normally; I'm just trying to show you how it looks from someone else's perspective.
velvettrucker52 said:Look, I’m sorry, but this forum isn't really intended to be used for that. At least, not in this particular way. If you're just looking for a place to vent and lash out at everyone, go find another hobby. If your only goal is to pick fights and turn every discussion into a forum brawl, then stop wasting our time. The sheer number of reports coming out of this thread makes one thing crystal clear: most people involved in that outburst didn't find it nearly as entertaining as they thought they would.
Look, if you ignore the warnings and the polite requests to stay on track, locking a thread is a far superior option than handing out yellow cards or jumping straight to a ban. We’ve gone three days now without any interesting contributors because of this approach. Locking a topic for a few hours gives people a chance to cool off and reset; it ensures that by tomorrow morning, we're dealing with people who are seeing blue instead of seeing red. Personally, I find this much more appealing than what we're currently stuck with.
Let me say this one more time: ZK cannot function without full moderation. It simply can't. Period. Neither the owner nor the admins would ever allow it to operate that way. We’ve tried to soften his stance as much as possible, but we’ve hit a wall—there isn't much more we can do. At the end of the day, this forum is private property, and the owner wants it moderated.
I’m honestly at a loss for what else to say about this topic. I mean it. We feel like we’ve hashed out every single possible angle over the last few months, but the idea of the women's corner acting as little more than an emotional pressure valve is a concept that remains incredibly difficult to swallow. I’ll leave it to the mods and admins to weigh in. At this point, I really have nothing left to say.
The whole point of a forum should be actual discussion. If I wasn't being clear enough before, let me try to be more precise. I mean real discussions. Real debates, with arguments and actual back-and-forth. I get that mods have to hand out warnings and bans—and yeah, I felt bad when Xena's status changed, but then I read later that she had just accumulated too many points, so okay, fine. Maybe for you, finding a topic and just venting about your kids or your pets counts as a "discussion," but please, let me suggest that it isn't everyone's idea of high-level debate.
Regarding the moderation itself, I don't really have anything to say. Things are just really heated right now, people are getting emotionally invested and arguing quite fiercely, and at the end of the day, there are less than 10 days left until those petitions wrap up, so this won't stay relevant forever (at least the part about the referendum request). So, I guess I'd just hate to see the whole thing boil over.
velvettrucker52 said:In the women's corner, a massive amount of stuff is allowed to pass through without any consequences. And it absolutely does.
However, when the mods step in and tell you to tighten things up because a thread is about to face stricter moderation—which isn't something we issue every single day—it would be reasonable for you to take that to heart. We typically drop those warnings when people start hurling nasty insults, or when participants or even just lurkers begin reporting posts for being offensive, blatant trolling, or simply being aggravating in other ways.
The women's corner is loosely moderated, but it can't be completely lawless. It just can't. Not if Anderlon has anything to say about it. Absolutely not. You can get away with a lot more in the women's corner than in any other sub-forum on this site, but even there, you need to know when to pull back once you've been warned. I'm not suggesting you should tuck your tails between your legs and start writing like choirboys and choir girls, but the nasty insults and the trolling? That needs to stop.
To put it simply: for threads where we announce stricter moderation, we expect you to behave with the same decorum you’d use in any other part of the forum. The relaxed nature of the women's corner covers the banter, the occasional troll, the heated debates, and the general nonsense, but certain things are unacceptable even here. When a thread catches fire and everyone starts losing their minds, the moderators have to put down the drinks and step in. 😁
Oh, please. I mean, I guess this is probably the first time in months where we haven't been spiraling through endless debates about urban decay, swapping out bras every five minutes, or deep dives into eating habits, haircuts, weight, childbirth, breasts, or cellulite—you know, those threads where nobody ends up in a fistfight just because someone claimed an angel descended from heaven, sliced their breasts off live on camera, and showed off their cellulite while wearing a bra for two days straight. The reason we aren't issuing warnings about stricter moderation for those topics is simply because there's never a thread where people get *this* worked up over, say, whether a dining room looks more chic or basic, or which big-box retailer we prefer shopping at. Everything got so heated because, after what feels like forever, a massive wave of people decided to jump in. The view count is absolutely insane—we're sitting at 35,611 views right now—and suddenly, everything is intense and high-stakes.
So, how exactly are we supposed to calm down when the pressure valve has basically been shut off? And honestly, people need this outlet. Seriously, I've been reading posts from people I had almost forgotten even existed; folks from other subreddits have been popping in just to join the fray. Because it matters to them. And yeah, we don't agree, and most people actually had solid points to make.
There hasn't really been any extreme drama or whatever, so I'd say it was just spirited. Everything came out in the open, sure, but why shut the whole thing down? People are writing, a huge crowd is reading, the owner is happy, and the revenue is flowing in.
Did you guys seriously ban Xena? Honestly, she was just taking shots at herself, for crying out loud. I mean, sure, things might have gotten a little heated, but she didn't say anything that actually warrants a ban. What happens now? Is she just supposed to be treated "equally" within the thread?
An avatar is just as important as the username itself. Honestly, I knew it was you right away—and it didn't even cross my mind to think you were trying to hide, mostly because you aren't exactly subtle about it. Of course, you have every right to stay anonymous, but maybe don't use an avatar from your old handle, otherwise, it makes it way too easy for people to connect the dots.
I feel like I really ought to share a positive experience here. A few days ago, things just went south fast—within about ten days, I had several bouts where I felt absolutely terrible. Nothing seemed to help, everything just kept getting worse, and I honestly thought maybe the devil himself had decided to play a cruel joke on me. I eventually hopped in my car, drove straight to the ER, and knocked on their door. They all swarmed to help me immediately. It was a weekend, and well past ten at night. Now, I realize my story isn't exactly the norm, but I was just so pleasantly surprised by how kind and professional everyone was, from the doctors down to the nurses. They kept running various tests on me until, within just a couple of hours, we had covered pretty much everything possible in that moment. That included having blood drawn while lying down, since I’m a little 🙄 when it comes to needles—which I did mention—so the nurse actually led me over to a couch, drew my blood, cracked a window for some air, and just gave me whatever time I needed to pull myself together. I truly believe the quality of care depends so much on the people on the other side of the desk and just how heavy their day has been. Maybe I just got lucky because there weren't many other patients around when I arrived. Or maybe I just looked like a total wreck (my blood pressure was through the roof, and my pulse was sky-high); or perhaps it was just that I wasn't expecting nearly as much as I got. Mostly, though, I'm trying to see things from the other perspective. Like others have mentioned, and as a couple of my friends who work in hospitals and ER departments tell me, not everyone is the same, and sometimes people show up without any real reason at all. As for the paramedics who respond to calls out in the field, I sincerely hope I never have to rely on them. From what I understand, it's always better to call them because then the patient goes directly into treatment, whereas if you drive yourself, it isn't quite as seamless. I know of some tragic stories in New York City where young people passed away because it took the ambulance far too long to reach them. I wonder why they don't establish some kind of traffic control for those kinds of emergencies. When new highways are being built, why isn't there always a dedicated center lane specifically for emergency vehicles? When I look at the traffic in New York City, constantly stuck in gridlock with cars honking incessantly, I really have to hand it to those drivers who manage to weave through the streets to get where they need to go.
I don't know, I find that fresh pork has this really strong scent to me, so I tend to eat very little of it🤷 Generally speaking, I'll stick to beef or something else... I just can't bring myself to eat anything that smells that way to me
Regarding the question in the title, I think it’s totally understandable why you’d feel the need to tell a doctor about things that have truly shaped your life. Things like your medications, specific therapies, any allergies to antibiotics, past pregnancies or miscarriages, even surgeries. I actually just finished up an ER visit recently, and they poked and prodded me about everything—every single medication I take and why, my entire medical history, my diet, my lifestyle, birth control... basically everything. It didn't really feel like they were trying to write a biography about me; it felt more like they were just desperately trying to figure out what was going on with my body. I'm well aware that in smaller towns, there's this tricky issue where the people working in hospitals or clinics pretty much know everyone. If there's something a patient is trying to keep private, there's always that nagging possibility that information might leak out. If that happens, please, report them to the medical board. Don't go thinking nobody actually reads those complaints. You probably aren't the only one feeling this way, and honestly, maybe a review board is just looking for a legitimate reason to get rid of someone incompetent or an absolute idiot, and your complaint gives them the opening they need. Use every tool the law and the government provide you. As long as abortion remains legal here in the US, there is absolutely no reason anyone should have to justify whether they had one or not.
