I actually picked up two tees and a button-down from their plus-size line a few years back. They weren't cheap, and while the shirt was alright—kind of mid—the tees were pretty rough. The color washed out almost immediately, and they stretched wide but shrunk short. Total mess.👎 Maybe the quality's better now? Who knows.
Anyway, I'm thinking about selling some stuff I have lying around. It's mostly stuff I ordered online that didn't fit right, so it's never really been worn. Just washed it and tucked it away in the closet... because, you know, maybe I'll lose weight, or god forbid, gain it. It goes how it goes.😵 Since I've never really sold anything or bought stuff this way before, I'm kind of lost on where to even post this. If you guys have any tips, let me know. I'm looking at US sizes 18/20, depending on the cut.
DM me if you have any tunics or pants in a size 20.🙂
Charles Kern28 said:^^ @ Jonathan Perez88 - People say Mango's sizing is all over the place—like, totally inconsistent, even if you're ordering your usual size. It feels like a bit of a gamble. I might just hunt for a different dress in this size, maybe for you too. Sadly, their plus-size line is online-only... So, I think I'll stick to New Look, ASOS, or Evans. I've never had a bad run with them.
Ugh, I mean, Evans and New Look definitely have some cute stuff, but the shipping costs? Absolutely criminal. It's just way too expensive.
Charles Kern28 said:Ladies, they just cleared out all the plus sizes from the KIK here in my town! 😳 I’m talking specifically about those "plus size" labeled racks. Honestly, I'm pretty bummed because I used to find such cute stuff there, especially during sales, and their Janine sleeveless tops and leggings are actually top-tier quality. I even asked the clerks if they knew why everything vanished, and they were totally clueless—it's not like people weren't buying it; if anything, it was flying off the shelves. They just got an order one day to clear it all out. I'm wondering how things look in NYC—did they pull the stock there too, or is it still available? Just want to know before my next trip. 🙂
EDIT: Oh, looking back through the previous pages, it looks like they started pulling stuff in NYC about six months ago :-/ Around here, it only happened around New Year's...
Do you guys shop at ASOS or Evans? I just ordered my latest haul, it arrived a few days ago, and it is seriously so good. 🙂 I've been shopping there for years; you can always snag something amazing on sale.
KIK is a total joke. They pulled the stock in NYC a few months back too.😠 I was absolutely livid because I bought several amazing jackets and shirts... for practically nothing... I mean, seriously ridiculous prices. Even the cashier told me she had no clue why, since sales were booming... Idiots!!
What you bought there is lovely, especially that black dress... just adorable. What size are you? I think Evans has some great pieces, but it isn't exactly cheap and the shipping costs are a killer... so I haven't pulled the trigger yet... I wear a US 20-22 🙂 though I am currently shedding some pounds.🎉 My biggest struggle is pants... I wear a 22-24 and finding a decent fit is nearly impossible... it's a nightmare. If anyone knows a good spot... besides C&A... please let me know... just looking for classic black dress slacks or maybe some casual sporty ones, just nothing in denim... I don't really do denim.
I’m honestly quite conflicted about which topic to tackle here 😁 1) Is there any way to actually back up—or even just copy—emails from Gmail? I run my own business, and practically all of my professional correspondence lives in my inbox. We’re talking roughly 1,000 emails at this point... and frankly, almost every single one matters to me. But I can't shake this nagging anxiety that something might go wrong. You never truly know when a server might fail or an account gets compromised.😛
2) On another note, I’ve sent out somewhere between 50 and 70 emails recently—mostly business proposals sent to various companies. Most of them were directed to general addresses like info@....... Is it possible that my messages are just getting dumped straight into spam folders? It’s been over four weeks and I haven't received a single response.🕺 ?!?! Most of these businesses are located elsewhere in the USA... different states and such...
I think I have it filed away with my accountant. You really think it’s a hardware issue with the printer itself? Honestly, I suspect I might have botched something myself. I was trying to format an invoice so it would print vertically, and in my frantic clicking through all those settings, I must have tripped over something... haha. Now, it won't even give me the option to toggle between color or black and white printing. 🤦 I've been wrestling with this printer all day long. I actually called tech support, and the guy just told me to try uninstalling the driver and reinstalling everything from scratch if nothing else works. I haven't gotten that far yet, though, haha. I'm going to try calling a friend of mine who definitely knows way more about this stuff than I ever will.
Help me!!!! I just swapped out the black toner for the first time, following every single instruction to the letter, but that color test page won't print. Now, whenever I try to print or even just make a copy, I get back a page that's practically blank 🙄 though you can barely make out the text if you squint I am at a complete loss here... It’s an HP 1515 printer and honestly, it’s been working flawlessly until now since it's basically brand new The estimated ink levels show that the black is at 100% full with a checkmark next to it... What on earth should I do? I even followed this video tutorial step-by-step 🙂
So, I had some blood drawn on day 10 of my cycle. My periods aren't exactly predictable—they tend to drift anywhere between 30 and 40 days. Now I'm sitting here wondering which "phase" I actually fall into: am I in the follicular, ovulation, or luteal stage? Thanks.
Infertility treatments are available at several hospitals: Mercy Hospital, Holy Spirit, and St. Peter’s... plus there are a handful of private clinics out there. The causes? Honestly, they're endless... stress is a major one, poor diet... and of course, there are plenty of other factors to consider.
Thanks, ladies! I know, I know—I really need to drop the weight. But honestly, I’ve been fighting this battle for years. Back when I hit 250 lbs about a year ago, I managed to nudge it down a bit, but lately, the scale just refuses to budge. It’s like it’s stuck. My cousin over in the States is a perfect example; she’s had four kids and has always been on the heavier side. She actually gave birth to her last two children while weighing around 265 lbs, and everything went totally fine. She tells me that over there in America, it isn't treated like some massive catastrophe. Sure, a doctor might give you a little warning to watch your health, but she tends to hold onto water weight, and she swears she was barely eating anything—just strictly avoiding fats and sugar.🙄 It's true, even when she isn't pregnant, she's probably sitting right around 220–230 lbs, though she is quite tall, about 5'9". I don't even know what to think anymore. Five years married, and I'll be turning 31 before I know it...😲 ugh! Anyway, I'm heading to the elliptical now just to try and find some motivation. Catch ya later!
Alice🙂 if you don't mind my asking, how far along were you when you actually conceived? I ask because, frankly, I feel like a complete mess right now. It’s just one thing after another—hormones, thyroid issues, PCOS... it feels like my entire system is working against me while all I want to do is have a baby🤷.... The reality is that I am hovering uncomfortably close to triple digits on the scale. I'm 5'7", and I desperately need to drop at least 35 pounds, but progress is moving at a snail's pace. It is incredibly frustrating.😢
So, here’s my take on what happened with Smith and Huber.
Back when I saw Smith about five years ago, I was mostly sipping on this tea—honestly, it was fantastic for digestion and acting as a diuretic—and sticking to fruit in the mornings, lunch mid-day, and then meat or fish with veggies for dinner. Basically, kept the glycemic index pretty low. I managed to drop 4 pounds in 40 days... but then I lost my job two months later, so obviously, I stopped going.
Then there was Huber last year. I went for two months and lost 10 pounds. Of course, I gained 7 of them back within two months. I was heading in about six times a month for $17. I wasn't starving; I was eating meat, cheese, vegetables, salads, just a little fruit... Since it was vacation season, she actually suggested I try a single pill of Prozac—which isn't addictive, mind you—just to help me get through those two weeks without the need for acupuncture. And honestly? It really helped. Now, I suspect there might be some "off-the-books" stuff going on, but look, nobody is forcing you to walk through those doors. The food portions aren't strictly regulated, and you don't *have* to take the pills if you don't want to. She didn't even give them to me directly; she just told me to go talk to my primary care physician. When I explained the situation to my doctor, she gave me exactly one box to cover that period. I’m not crazy enough to sit there popping those things for months on end... I did like the doctor, though. She had stories about people losing 90 pounds in a single year and whatnot. Of course, plenty of people end up right back where they started once the weight creeps back on. She admitted herself that it's impossible to eat nothing but meat and vegetables for the rest of your life. But when those first couple of pounds come back, going back for a session of acupuncture can help stimulate things and maybe dull the appetite a bit. I have no strong feelings either way on acupuncture. These days, I’m just hitting the gym in the zone, and I’m happy with it. Good luck to everyone.👍
When is actually the best time to get an ovarian ultrasound done? I’ve been dealing with PCOS, and my endocrinologist is demanding some paperwork to get a clear look at the "situation." Does it matter which day of the month I schedule this for?? thanks🙂
Oh, thanks!! Honestly, they all seem to be cut from the same cloth... I can already see myself stuck in an endless loop of walking between different clinics and waiting around at various labs... I’ve got some test results from back in June... I'll have to take a look at them soon enough. Apparently, Koršić is supposedly top-tier, but even then, you’ll be fighting through a massive crowd just to get seen.
I have an appointment scheduled with vineyard endocrinologist Dr. Bečejac. Has anyone here actually seen him before? I’m trying to get a sense of his expertise—is he truly a specialist worth the trip?
The Montignac diet approach and the Zone diet are both quite decent options. For me personally, the Zone diet can be a bit of a headache to manage, but it certainly delivers results (I saw this firsthand with a friend 👍 ).
