Walk Among The Tombstones (2014) in Movies ·
Caught this at the theater a few days ago. It’s a decent enough flick, probably right in line with the rest of those Neeson movies. I kind of enjoy watching him, especially when I'm not really in the mood for something super heavy or deep. I wasn't huge on the ending, though—I guess I was expecting a bit more from it, but honestly, it fits the overall pacing, which is pretty slow. It’s a little unusual, I suppose, but Liam doesn't just go on a rampage through ten different bad guys like he usually does. Which, if I'm being honest, I actually liked.

7.5/10

I got exactly what I expected out of it. I might have even bumped it to an 8, but there were a couple of clichés that just didn't quite land for me.

I wouldn't exactly call this a super film, honestly... there's just way too many clichés and plot holes everywhere.

The Dark Knight / Avengers / Crazy Joe - 2013

I guess it’s kind of weird that nobody started a thread for this yet. I put a double title in there just so it's easier to find since it's listed as Hummingbird in some places, Redemption in others, and apparently even Crazy Joe elsewhere.

It's basically Jason Statham in another action flick filled with endless punching and kicking. You'd probably assume that's the case for pretty much any Jason movie, especially since it pulled a score close to a 7, which is about what most Statham movies get.
But, maybe this one is actually different. I won't drop any spoilers, but I'll just say it feels more like a drama and focuses way more on Statham's character than just mindless violence.

It's definitely worth a watch; I was honestly surprised by this kind of role from him. Though, I guess that might just be me talking because I'm such a huge Statham fan. Even if the cast isn't massive, Agata Buzek is incredibly good in her supporting role. 🙂

Anyway, check out Statham in a movie that leans more toward drama than pure action. It really worked for me, and it's easily one of my favorites from this summer (which hasn't been exactly packed with hits).

8.5/10 (probably a bit overhyped, but like I said, being a fan of Jason, I can't help myself 😁 )
briskhound2 said:What do you mean "faded"? The guy is everywhere—literally every series I flip on, there he is. And honestly, that Terminator role wasn't even his big career breakout; he really hit it big much later. He was basically just riding high after that, because he didn't really follow it up with anything legendary...

And let's not forget that macho role he had in The Sopranos 😁

Has anyone actually messed around with an Educa loan from Bank of America?

The terms look pretty solid on paper, I guess, but I’m wondering what it’s actually like to deal with this thing in real life 🙂 Banks always seem to have some kind of catch hidden somewhere.

Her face just totally rubs me the wrong way. I don't know why, but I just can't stand looking at her.

She was in that Twilight movie I watched recently, playing this super arrogant character, and combined with that annoying face, I honestly couldn't stand being in the same room as her.

It’s kind of hard to even talk about talent these days, I guess. I feel like you can't really call someone an actor just because they show up to a set for a few months and film the same scenes over and over again. Anyone could do that, really—even those mindless celebs who pop into movies and basically just go through the motions like actual professionals.

SPOILER:

I'm kind of wondering how Eddie actually dealt with the whole pill situation? Like, did they figure out the formula and fix the side effects, or did he just find something that provides a permanent fix? I'm also curious about how he handled those three murders in his apartment—I didn't quite follow the part about the previous tenant. And what about that bit with the hands in the safe? I guess he probably assumed someone would try to break in since both his old place and the one from Verna got hit.

ABOUT THE MOVIE:

It was a fun watch, though I guess the trailer might have looked even better than the actual movie, even if they didn't cram everything into the teaser, which was a good call. It’s probably one of the better movies I've seen this year, and I honestly felt pretty anxious right along with 🙂. I don't really see the point in making a sequel, personally. 9/10.

I mean, I laughed during the first part, but probably not enough to call this my all-time favorite comedy... I guess the movie is just kind of overrated.
Green Zone (2010) in Movies ·
Just watched the movie, honestly incredible. I don't know what to say, it wasn't just mindless action, which is wild because it feels like this totally flew under the radar... probably one of the better things I've seen lately, I guess.

The ending left me feeling like I was stuck in a SAW I scene, especially that part where the guy stands up and the music just hits you :P

I guess we might get Mirrors 2 after an ending like that, though I didn't totally wrap my head around it... so if anyone could maybe explain it to me :P
