See?
Even in Malaysia, there weren't tons of overtakes, but almost every single one we saw was actually worth watching.
Switching lines, outside moves, or sequences of overtakes carried through several consecutive corners.

Very little DRS usage, and none of those sudden performance drops from the tires either.

stormybadger8 said:Look, Australia only saw 29 overtakes this season, and Malaysia might even be lower—we don't have the full data yet. Last year, we were averaging about 52 per race. That's practically double.

Last year, those weird Pirelli tires were a factor too.

But in these last two races, even the Mercedes drivers didn't run into any tire issues at all. 😁

swifttiger75 said:I’m worried that Mecca might get complacent and start catching mice. They still have hidden cards up their sleeves, and the car is built so well that their current lead could become untouchable by the time anyone else catches up.

Sure, it’s only the second race, but honestly, what would it take for Mercedes-Benz to lose this?

We saw during pre-season testing that the car is incredibly reliable and consistent.
Now we're seeing in actual races that they are easily a full second faster than the rest of the field.
That massive tire degradation that plagued them last season? It clearly isn't an issue for them anymore. (Actually, it's not an issue for anyone, apparently.)
With a car this dominant, it feels harder to find a driver who wouldn't win the title with it rather than the other way around.

Like someone already mentioned— and so be it, Lewis earned it.

Though, I find myself with nothing particularly noteworthy to praise; a genuine disappointment...😢

But what else is there to see?

"I had some damage after that, so we lost some downforce because the tyre damaged the floor."

My apologies, really.

But the main thing? He clocked his fastest lap on lap 36.
Sounds like some pretty nasty damage.

He made it back to the pits, swapped out the tires, and fixed the damage.

And then he finds himself stuck behind two drivers who have never even scored a single point in their entire careers—both driving for teams that have yet to see a podium finish in their history.

Listen. UnknownThat damage in the second lap hit him hard, but he didn't let it break him. He just kept fighting, dropping his lap times lower and lower as the race went on. By lap 36, he finally brought that Ferrari home.
Just about the damage.

What exactly was torn up on Kimi Räikkönen's car? 🍿

Jason Campbell70 said:So, tell me, darling... what kind of damage on that Finnish fraud's car are we actually talking about here? 🍿

Unknown, at the exact same time.
Unknown.

Come on, honey, what kind of damage are we actually talking about with this Finnish scam? 🍿

In terms of the overall standings? It’s completely irrelevant.

Are you actually being sincere like Jack in certain situations, or are you just a persistent troll? Regardless, I think I'll go back to ignoring you for now.

I won't go as far as ignoring you. Honestly, some of the nonsense you drop in your posts—given that you’re such a dedicated troll who somehow manages to steer discussions toward being constructive—is actually worth following. Your obsession? It's something I can respect. I'll just sit back, read your stuff, and have a good laugh.

That’s all there is to say about the damage to Maestro's car and Shellov's driver. :roz:

Modding every single thread? You know what that means. Pure panic among the Alonso fans. 😍

Panika?
Two races in, and Maestro is sitting just one point behind the season favorite for the driver's championship. Can he close that gap?

Almost panicked. Almost. 🙂

Sure thing. We'll see how it plays out in today's race. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

brightwolf48 said:Yeah, if they had actually had enough time during qualifying to swap parts out and avoid that kind of damage, things would be different than when something like this hits you mid-race...

The bolid was completely uncontrollable after hitting Kvjat; the front left wheel was basically detached from the steering system.

They patched the bolid together fast, though according to Alonso and Domenicalli, the handling was still shot because of the impact.

The crew didn't have the window to replace the entire steering rack—they just swapped the linkage connecting the rack to the front left hub.

And with a car in that state, the Granda maestro pulls off a Finnish heist in just over a second. Specifically—1.2 seconds. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

By the way—why haven't I put you on my ignore list yet?

brightwolf48 said:Sure, he got caught up in a mess during the first lap through no fault of his own, potentially damaging the car or the suspension—something neither of us can truly know. But instead, people just pile on him. No one mentions how he pulled off that brilliant start, only to have to lift off the gas to avoid putting his teammate in danger. Can we get a little objectivity here?

The maestro managed to qualify on the second row despite driving an identical car with much more significant damage. ☕

Honestly, they've been leagues ahead of everyone else for the last decade. Is there even anyone close? If you look back, the only car that truly felt superior was the Ferrari 2004.☕

Yeah, true.☕That will certainly add some weight to all that rambling of yours. 😍

Lewis Hamilton opened the race today, clocking in just over a second faster per lap. Is that enough to stay ahead?
Wasn't Vettel pulling laps that were two and a half seconds faster than everyone else at the start of races last season? 🤔

stormybadger8 said:How easy was it for Nico Rosberg in Australia and Malaysia? And just how effortless did he make it look?
Aren't you one of those people who claims that...

Wasn't it Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello who used to run circles around the entire grid back in the day? They were in a car that was only about half a second off the pace from the rest of the field.
Even Massa struggled with less than that.

Honestly, they’ve been way more dominant than any other car on the grid over the last decade. If you really think about it, the only machine that truly rivaled that level of supremacy in recent history was the Ferrari 2004.☕

Wasn't it just Jenson Button and Rubens Barrichello absolutely dominating the field back then? They were running a car that was barely half a second off the pace of anyone else.
Even Massa could have done it with less.

Even Massa would have struggled with that.

Patrick Bailey4 said:We shouldn't be overhyping Lewis Hamilton, just like we didn't for Nico Rosberg last race. Any driver on this grid can cruise to a win when they have an obviously dominant car.
That said, he’s certainly earned the right to sit in a car like that given his career so far. I can't argue with that part.

Absolutely, my friend. Absolutely.
