2014 Monaco Grand Prix Recap & Discussion in Formula 1 ·
stormybadger8 said:He completely overlooked the subtle Maestro... his performance was so unremarkable it wasn't even worth mentioning.

But there's another point that's quite fascinating: Hamilton just showed us exactly what kind of character he has...
By all accounts, he’s an even bigger crybaby than Alonso. Honestly, it's unbelievable how he can tear into a team that handed him such a beast of a car—a car where finishing 3rd in any race this season would be a miracle, let alone winning the title. Failing to secure the championship after all that would be an absolute embarrassment...
Most importantly, though, he's proven that he only demands "equal status" within the team when he's clearly the No. 1. But the moment he finds himself somehow relegated to No. 2, suddenly everyone needs to be equal again so he can remain the No. 1 and dictate the strategy.🤣

He's been acting so out of line over the last few days that I'd actually love to see Rosberg take the title, even if it happens through some messy technicality...

He's become "The Whiner."
As this season unfolds, certain things about Hamilton's past are starting to come into focus. Specifically—that 2008 season.

He's my favorite driver. Exceptionally attractive, incredibly fast, a massive talent... But if he keeps this up, people won't remember the talent; they'll just remember the whining. And he really doesn't deserve that.

Consider it done.

ruggedfox28 said:just let him be... you can see he's just rambling nonsense. Any decent media outlet you read online, or even the sensible voices on the forums, all agree that Obrvan drove an underwhelming race, yet somehow walked away with a solid 4th place. It’s the same story we've seen throughout his career—just scavenging the track and opportunistically capitalizing on other people's misfortune (or if we're being honest, other people's mistakes).

He's blinded by it... maybe even more than his own mother, which explains this post.

..and that really shows the true nature of Obrvan's fans. They accuse all of Kimi Räikkönen's fans of grasping at straws like they're finding drops of water in a desert, yet they fail to realize they are doing the exact same thing with Obrvan. They cling to internal team battles that are completely irrelevant and marginal in the grand scheme of the championship, but for them, it's the only source of joy left... because honestly, they don't have anything else to celebrate.🤣

So you didn't miss much, really.😁

Fair enough, that's your take.
But for those of us who actually follow the details, the Practice sessions matter—especially Practice 1 and Practice 2.

I guess making a good first impression on a thread is apparently vital.😁

Of course I missed the first two Practice sessions. Why would the OP actually include such crucial info in the opening post?

If someone were to make a mistake that massive, would I even bother participating in the discussion? Not if I were following principle.

Since this opening isn't really up to the standard of this sub, I suggest William Bennett53 starts a fresh thread instead.

But honestly? Not happening.

If there’s one track that suits Nico Rosberg better than Lewis Hamilton, it’s the Monaco Grand Prix.

He consistently puts in stellar qualifying sessions here, and this is where he’s pulled off some of his career-best results.
Last season, he went from pole straight to the win; the year before, he climbed from third on the grid to second in the race.

Over the last few seasons, Rosberg has regularly outpaced Hamilton in qualifying at the Monaco Grand Prix... so I’ll give him a slight edge this time. Given that the forecast looks dry and sunny—Rosberg is my pick for pole.

As for the winner? That will likely be decided by the man in the silver Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG. Or rather, the reasons for his exits—Pastor Maldonado, Romain Grosjean, Kamui Kobayashi, Jean-Éric Vergne... or just some random chaos from the back of the pack.

ruggedfox28 said:Just like most of their debut season, the Brawn GP duo absolutely ran the show last year. Jenson Button, who went on to take the title, grabbed the win, while his teammate Rubens Barrichello secured second. Kimi Raikkonen rounded out the podium in third.

If you're going to copy someone, at least read what you're pasting.

Unfortunately, I had the misfortune of sitting through all of Focker from start to finish, along with bits and pieces of that nonsense involving Mr. Magorium.

It’s either those soft, sentimental little romances—think Pride and Prejudice or Love Actually—or she’s just part of some endless Pirates of the Caribbean franchise. That's pretty much the spectrum.

I’d also throw in Angelina Jolie's role in that Rudanicin flick, maybe another Hanging performance, or anything else starring Keira Knightley. 😳

Just look at the link title, you heathen. 🙏🙏🙏🙏

She wouldn't be hot even if you tossed her into a blast furnace.

Bad actor? Dustin Hoffman. Every time I see him, my digestion kicks into gear.

Thomas Martin4 said:I just saw an article claiming that the new fuel will give Red Bull a 0.3-second advantage per lap. Is that even realistic? Why doesn't everyone else have access to the same stuff?

Everyone uses similar fuel, sure, but it’s never exactly the same.

The whole "three-tenths per lap" story came straight from Helmut Marko. He basically argued that Ford was untouchable in China because ExxonMobil supplied them with upgraded fuel.

What can you even say to that? How do you even respond?

I just hope all this focus on aerodynamics isn't coming at the expense of the power unit.
Because let's be honest, aero isn't what's actually holding Ford back.

The biggest room for improvement lies within the power unit, and that's where I’m looking for gains.
And we need those gains to be significant.

Expect plenty of debate and conversation in just under twenty days.

It’s finally the first race where every single team will show up with upgrades—some of them quite significant.

Well, if we're going by the latest research— Do women, men with a bit more weight are more attractive. Is that just me?

I feel the exact same way. I’ve watched two seasons—not sure if there are even more out—and aside from those ridiculous office romances, I have zero complaints.

Looking at their careers so far, isn't it clear that Rosberg has been the constant? While Lewis was always all over the place.
