aboutthoseunconscious artists I happily dance to whenever the mood strikes: the Sugababes. Gold Dubs. Alice Cooper. Kuzma and Shaka Zulu. Shabani. Beyonce. Šo!Mazgoon. Iron Maiden. Criminal Activity. Miroslav Škoro. UB40. And all that junk. 👋

True! 👍 But that's just it... you have a conscious relationship with them.
You love them and they get you moving... they make the jerks hit the dance floor... but somewhere deep down, there's no real respect there. Why? Because they're just fluff.

Nicholas Perez33 said:so if it wasn't calculated beforehand, how did it even reach us?

I didn't mean to frame that as a negative when talking about the Ramones, I don't want anyone getting the wrong idea. But fine... "calculated" might be too strong a word. Let's go with "intentional."

What didn't happen? Beats me. Ask kriv, he’s always going on about how things are spontaneous or unrefined or whatever.

Alright then, name a band you’ve danced to lately that lacks "awareness." ☕

The Ramones are a completely calculated project and concept. Some people see that, and some people just refuse to. 😉
Let's be honest, we're all just snobs. 🙂

@ Kevin Chavez3

There’s "stupid" and then there’s just plain idiotic.

It’s like comparing the ramblings of a toddler to a masterpiece by an abstract painter. Visually? Maybe they look similar if you're standing five feet back.

But one actually has intent behind it. That’s the whole point.

Look at how this slang breaks down barriers among kids

But now we're just trolling them in the comments. Calm down—just ban them or delete the posts. 😘

The American people have made their stance clear.

Zachary Bishop82 said:The Comiti would have been great, but the whole performance felt more like a vaudeville act or some pre-war experimental theater troupe.

As for those other guys... in a theater, actors actually act. Bands don't. Unless you're listening to Eagle Death Metal of Russia. 😉

I have to admit, I expected more from Russia.

The silence was perfect. Pure hate. 😍

They ended up getting wasted at Limb. I hope they found some Pepsi. Just a drunk guy stumbling off into the dark. 😳

Look at that... that building left of the Engineering hall. 😁

Who knows... She just passed some exam about verb tenses at her university recently, I guess. 😁

So.. here’s how they describe themselves, take it for what it's worth:

'' Sounds like The Misfits getting drunk with Elvis, listening to Social Distortion, driving down the Sunset Strip with Iggy Pop behind the wheel! ''

Gave it a listen. It's not bad.

Closest thing I've heard to Distortion. That kind of sound, roughly.

I think they'll make it... enough to make me swing by. 🙂

That one’s pure gold, while this is total trash. It's night and day.

Kevin Chavez3 said:I just saw a rumor floating around another forum about some group called The Meenies from England playing tonight. Apparently, they're doing a set for free? 😕 Does anyone know anything about this? Also, could someone head over to their MySpace and give me an earful of how they actually sound? In this capitalist hellscape, I'm not exactly allowed to go checking for myself. 😳

Check out the profile for The Meenies over at MySpace: http://www.myspace.com/themeenies

EDIT: I see he's wearing a Real Kids shirt. Now I know I'm in the right place. 🙂

People say they aren't worth the trip, but I figured I'd stop by anyway...
I'm going to go listen now, then I'll get back to you.

I’m with stormyviper11 on this one. Honestly, there’s no point in whining about the good old days...

Yeah, true...

6.3. The Beatles (RUS/D)

Now this is a solid band... pure talent. It's not just some manufactured junk like 98% of what's out there now. 👍

It's pretty rare to see something like this posted on IEEE.. hopefully enough people show up..

As for everything else.. it is what it is. 🙄

Things will turn around eventually, I hope.

Prof.

Too late. I’m already too far gone. Though in the final chapter, they use this sharp, clever example to show it’s never actually too late. Did you make it out? 😬

Wow, what an incredible band bio... really brightens your day. Their sound is pure ear candy. Honestly, the rhythm section is what really grabbed me...

Haha, quite the sight when they were leaving... a long line of cars parked along the riverbank, and every single one had a flyer tucked under the wiper. Something like 'Eminem' or whatever. Skimmed through it before hitting the sack 🥱

I'm with you on that.

I'll post an update once I hear something else..

Where did you even hear about that setup?

Gonna go do some more digging..

I heard it straight from an insider.
It doesn't quite make sense to me either. 😕 You couldn't even call this a Mother.

Here’s the email from Tounijev, trimmed down and cleaned up a bit 😉

.... everything you wanted to know:

Pogreb - great punk set. They played Sonic Reducer, and even though Satan was there, he ended up playing a lot of Pogreb tracks. The original bassist will be singing since EVERYONE else in the band is gone.

Užas - basically a funny cover band that could actually shine when they played their own stuff (like "One-Eyed Girl" or "Perverted Hermina"). Matakovic will be on bass, twenty years later.

Pest Antun Band - the only ones who actually knew how to play. This guy discovered the best guitarist in the local scene, Marina Pokrovca. They had some good original songs, like "I Don't Want to Know What the Writer Meant!", but they're much softer now. Antun is the only multi-instrumentalist around; he taught a lot of people how to play.

Majke - will be performing without Bareta.

Spilsul - also features Matakovic.

Karambol - they played soft punk/rock. Just three former high school kids who were big fans of Vibrators and Damneds. Only one remains from the original lineup.

Ultimately, Duspara ići is behind the whole thing. The venue holds about 250 seated and maybe 100 standing. I doubt it'll be packed, especially if there's a snowstorm, but everyone who loves this stuff will show up.

Kevin Chavez3 said:Seriously though, are people actually going to sit down, or what? I'm worried about the crowd at the theater... :theater audience: 🤮 😢

I wouldn't sweat it if I were you.

That's just how things go in Indianapolis, man. People stand or jump around even at a venue like Šćelkunčik.
