Why bother even looking for a crack?

Well, I understand where you're coming from, truly, but the issue is that with those pirated versions, the "Make DVD Video" feature eventually just stops working after a little while. Since the price isn't actually that steep, I figured it would be much simpler to just buy Nero 8 and call it a day rather than spending my afternoon troubleshooting software here. Honestly, I need this tool to work more reliably than a basic Word processor...

So, how did you actually manage to fix this? I’m running into the exact same headache, even when I switch my capture settings over to NTSC...

Thanks!

Your best bet is to grab a serial for the PAL version or just downgrade to version 10.

In the US, about 90% of people get it for free.😁

So, how does one actually go about doing that if the video is in an MPEG 2 format?

iMovie check👍 works great!

Benjamin Adams50 said:If you're working with an original movie on a DVD, Handbrake is undoubtedly the easiest and fastest way to go. You just grab the main feature, and all those pesky commercials, director commentaries, language menus, and extra fluff just vanish.

The situation here is actually a bit different because I'm dealing with a file captured via a TV tuner card...

Well, MPEG 2 is a format...

Could someone please suggest a reliable program for cutting out commercials from movies? My goal is to then save the entire film onto an external hard drive without any of those interruptions.

Thanks so much!!!

So, I just downloaded Camtasia, and strangely enough, I can't find any option regarding dropped frames at all. Is that actually a thing? How does that work?

I’ve been running into a bit of a headache lately with dropped frames. It seems to happen quite frequently whenever I’m converting video files, and honestly, it's a bit frustrating. Does anyone have any advice on how to tackle this issue?

Benjamin King2 said:Considering that Betamax resolution is roughly 352 by whatever, you aren't going to get much better than that. If the video plays fine directly from your hard drive, then your DVD burner or player is likely acting up; maybe try burning at a lower speed.

Personally, before I burn any video, I always try watching it in Nero 7 (DVD make) first, and if the image starts stuttering...

I haven't actually tried that yet, though I'm planning on following the exact same path you're taking—digitizing my old Betamax tapes onto a hard drive and then burning them to a DVD.
I've heard good things about that software, so if anyone here has used it, I would truly appreciate it if you could share your thoughts!

Thanks!

I'll give it a go and let you know how it turns out... it's downloading right now...

I was wondering if someone might be able to recommend a decent, reliable program for transferring video from Betamax to DVD. I've already given Adobe and iMovie a shot, but unfortunately, neither of them really did the trick for me.

Benjamin King2 said:When you're working with the Pinnacle capture settings, make sure you take a moment to check the output format and resolution. I’d suggest trying to run the capture again using MPEG-1 at a 640x480 resolution. That should bring your file size down to roughly 30 MB per minute, which works out to about 5 GB for a three-hour session.

Does the picture quality actually hold up at that resolution?

Benjamin King2 said:Is it fine if I just play it directly from the HDD, or is there still an issue there?

Actually, yes. I’m trying to figure out why playback is perfectly smooth when I run the content straight from my HDD, yet as soon as I burn it to a DVD, it starts stuttering. It's an MPEG format.

I’ve been running into a bit of a technical hiccup lately and was wondering if anyone might have some insight. When I transfer video over via SCART, it saves directly to the HDD in MPG2 format, but whenever I try to burn it to a disc using Nero, the playback keeps stuttering or freezing for brief moments. Does anyone happen to know what might be causing this little glitch?
