Doing business with USA member states in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Jack Young said:That’s awesome! You'll have to give us the lowdown on what they teach you. 🙂

I’m looking for some info too, mostly because there’s zero budget for professional seminars, so we’re all basically left to figure things out on our own as best we can.
Thanks in advance for any advice.
IRS and Tax Filing Issues in Business, Accounting & Taxes ·
Just wanted to let you guys know I finally sorted this out. I gave my contact over at the IRS a call, and he knew exactly what was going on immediately. I ended up mailing him the completed form along with a detailed breakdown of how everything was calculated, and that did the trick.
That’s actually how I handled it last year, so I honestly assumed they had streamlined the process by now.

To make matters worse, the folks handling the online tax portal actually replied to my email just to tell me they only deal with technical glitches, not actual calculation issues, so I didn't get much help from them at all.

I have a question regarding the City Hall form

Basically, I’m dealing with multiple income streams, which means I have several different tax percentages to calculate. Does anyone know how to handle this through the IRS e-file system?

Last year, I just mailed the form directly to my agent because I was in the exact same situation. It took them until this year to actually process it—and even then, only after I had to call them out for the fact that the credit wasn't showing up on my statement. I’d really like to avoid that headache this time around.

I tried emailing the IRS, but I haven't heard back from anyone.

Jason Fox2 said:Huh, gotta admit that’s a first for me, since basically everyone I know (including some folks who bank with Chase) just uses their standard debit card, and you can pretty much plug in a reader from any major bank.

For me, neither FIN nor Chase works if I have both plugged in at the same time. They warned me right away that having Chase active interferes with everything and I need to unplug it. Basically, if both readers are inserted, it glitches.
I constantly run into issues when using Chase...

I haven't tried swapping out my cards, so I'm not sure if that's what's causing the headache.

This is my second attempt today. At first, it actually let me submit, but then it told me I needed an upgrade—which I couldn't get to work no matter what I did.
Now, I can't even load the homepage. 😕

By Thursday, I was absolutely losing my mind. I called their customer service line, and some woman kept me on hold for half an hour just to walk me through clicking things on my screen, only to eventually conclude that the problem was "just my internet connection." I won't even dignify her arrogance and blatant attitude with a comment—it’s like she expected me to be a software engineer just because I don't know where every single setting is hidden in the interface she's describing.

Then, around 3 PM, the site finally started working again so I managed to send the report, only to have them call me on Friday admitting it was actually their mistake all along. As if that wasn't obvious from the start! Seriously, it's not like my computer suddenly decided to change its own settings overnight just to spite the IRS website.

Look, they need to function properly for at least four days out of the year, and right now, they're failing me.
Chloe Hughes2 said:Hi there,

Since the semester kicked off, I’ve found myself doing a lot of observing and thinking. To be honest, the lecture halls on campus get incredibly stuffy sometimes, and it really gets to me. I find myself just "checking out" because I can't focus, and more often than not, I end up with a headache once the class is over. It’s interesting, though—some students seem to struggle with the heat and lack of air just like I do, while others always seem to be freezing. Those guys will stay in the lecture hall even when the AC is cranked up (I usually have to step out into the hallway just to grab some fresh air), and they seem to function perfectly fine, even in those heavy, oxygen-deprived environments. Or at least, they think it doesn't bother them😁.
I've actually hated cramped, stuffy spaces since I was a kid...

What's the deal with this? Is there any way to make dealing with stuffy rooms easier?
How do you all handle being in spaces where the air feels thin?

I totally feel you!
I deal with the exact same thing at work. There are five of us in one small office—I'm the youngest, and we're squeezed around six computers. The heat cranks up to like 95 degrees, so you're sitting there in short sleeves, sweating, and it feels absolutely suffocating. And heaven forbid you try to crack a window for even a second, or the older ladies start complaining about the draft—one's complaining about her head, another about her feet. By the time two hours pass, I'm so frustrated and sweaty that my productivity hits zero.
I'm also wondering how to deal with this miserable atmosphere.
Car loans in Banking, Insurance & Loans ·
I’m looking at taking out an auto loan for just under $16667 through Ford financing, and my bank is JP Morgan Chase.
Now that I'm looking closer, I've spotted three specific line items:
-a 2.5% loan processing fee
-a 2.4% credit insurance fee
-and interest accrual during the initial period.

Is there any way to dodge or at least lower any of these costs? I already know about the interest accrual—I realize I have to file a request later since you're essentially paying for fewer days.
My main concern is the credit insurance cost. For instance, if I were to use a guarantor or a co-signer, would that change anything?
