The Hold Steady were actually pretty sweet 😍, and everyone who told me "you're gonna love this" was spot on. They totally pegged me as a total redneck 😬

Later, a buddy of mine—who didn't even bother watching them—asks me:
- So, how were The Hold Steady?

- What do they even sound like?
- Just, you know, rock and roll
- Oh god, no (he makes a face)
(I'm sitting there trying to think of a way to describe the vibe using a comparison, and I'm just about to say it felt like being at a Garth Brooks concert, when my friend cuts in: )

I think Jinx is a solid band and I dig most of their tracks—but honestly, I have no clue what people hear in Yaya Veceras' vocals. The woman sings as flat as a pancake.

Honestly, that was easily the highlight of the show. There were a few moments where the volume was actually decent—not saying it was terrible or anything—but what do I know? I wasn't exactly losing my mind with joy. And the sound quality? God, it was like a total wreck. (I mean, I’ve got a cold that's kicking my ass and my ears feel plugged, but I don't think that's the only reason).
And truthfully, I’d actually be worried if every single concert I went to knocked me off my feet 🙂

Honestly, I wasn't feeling it. As far as the gigs go—I would've been better off staying home... maybe giving my husband some electric shocks instead. 😬
But as a night out? It was great. Good vibes and good company.
