My "typical girl activities" hit list: 1. Doing my makeup—even though I rarely bother since I know I won't have the energy to scrub it off later. It’s fun, though—I’ve always had a thing for bright colors and glitter. 2. Rocking high heels—as long as there isn't a massive amount of walking involved. 3. Talking endlessly. The stuff I absolutely hate: 1. Hair removal. Honestly, if I could change one thing about the world, I’d make hairy legs the trend. Forget solving global hunger or the oil crisis—I’d trade all that just to stop dealing with this. But, I don't exactly have the guts to just be hairy. 2. Shopping. It's exhausting, boring, and a total chore. 3. Chatting on the phone. I'm just not built for it—I can't focus when I'm talking into a device, and once the call ends, I usually have zero clue what we actually talked about. Sometimes I have to awkwardly call the person back just to apologize and beg them to repeat what we agreed on. 😳
What a bunch of traumatized people... honestly, I’ve spent countless hours at house parties, hanging out on beaches, or just chilling on park benches singing those "classics"—they’re actually some of my favorite memories. When you’re with your own crew, you just instinctively know which songs are total buzzkills and which ones get everyone hyped. We still do that today—and frankly, I don't care if anyone thinks it's "lowbrow."
One more thing I don't get—why do you guys even listen to the radio? Not being snarky or trying to act superior here, I’m genuinely curious. Are your roommates torturing you at the office? Do you commute on buses that clearly DON'T play classic hits—or maybe they just blast CCR all day?—or are people just forcing it on you at home?
Anyway, since we're talking about hating massive hits—take me, for example. I'm a huge Beatles fan, but "Yesterday" just doesn't do it for me. It's not even because it's overplayed (though it definitely is, but whatever)—it's just boring. Same goes for Stairway to Heaven; it has potential, sure, but the whole pretentious vibe totally ruins it for me.
Look, I love Hotel California and I dig Proud Mary—I get why some people find them grating, sure. But I HEARD IT THROUGH THE GRAPEVINE ??? How is that even irritating? Honestly, I’m just vibing and dancing along to the beat the second it starts.
Preferences are everything. Lora is fun, but I don’t quite get that game-selection variant—though I have my guesses. Honestly, Blanca is getting pretty boring. Pictionary is easily the best board game out there!
@Carol Jackson45/">@@Carol Jackson45: I was hanging out with friends at a spa resort over the weekend recently—and look, I feel the need to justify this: it was a gift, and the whole "wellness" concept usually turns me off—but they all decided I’m some kind of phenomenon because I couldn't shut up after about thirty minutes in the Turkish bath, which we entered AFTER spending half an hour in the Finnish sauna. I honestly have no clue how I managed to ramble that much under those conditions. And when I don't have anyone to talk to, I just get this manic urge to doodle. Clearly 🙂
Look, just as an example—Bob Dylan isn't exactly a mandatory requirement for every show. There are actually concerts where there's a real chance he won't show up at all.
My concert history started with the classics at Carnegie Hall—though Bob Dylan definitely wasn't the norm there. Is it just me, or was it way less than half the time back when I used to go constantly? Now I only show up maybe once a year, so my take probably isn't worth much—unless trends have shifted since then.
Onions are basically god-tier vegetables—every single variation is just perfection. I’m honestly thinking about putting a turnip on my family crest. Oh man... cabbage and beans / salty turnips and grits / that's the life right there.
Yeah, look—he put out a few solo records after leaving Pink Floyd, so it's not like he just vanished into thin air the second he walked out. I’ve never actually sat down and listened to those solo albums myself, but I'm pretty sure they aren't exactly impossible to find, download, or buy. So, really, Brenda Lewis2 could have easily kept up.

A year ago, I didn't even know what garlic was—now I'm practically burning through my salt shaker using it. 🙂
Don't take this personally, but this post is straight-up depressing. What, you've never had pot roast, cucumber salad, lentils, collard greens, stuffing, sauerkraut, or black radishes? I don't see how hippie parents factor in—mine weren't hippies, so they cooked all that stuff, and since I didn't care, that's just what we ate at home. For my last birthday, I actually asked for a 🙂 cookbook. It wasn't an idiotic gift.

that email was seriously shallow. other than that, PORILUK RULES
There’s no way that emoji works 😂 I get what you're getting at—really, I do—but my first thought is some kind of Godzilla-sized women. Fear of girls 🤣 like zombie girls breaking through the fog, stalking innocent young drunks, and extending their claws 😂
Speaking of flight attendants, if any redhead who worked the New York to Paris route last year is lurking here, please hit me up. 😍
Best juice flavors, in any combination or order: - grapefruit - pineapple - carrot - tomato
I can't stand anything sickly sweet—it's gross. I might deal with red currant, orange, cherry, or apple if they're super tart, but that's it. Sweetness is just nasty (not counting cocoa or whatever, strictly juices)
on raw food: you guys are nuts. seriously—I know because I learned the hard way. I finally quit eating raw pasta and all that other raw junk after I made myself so sick a few years back from overdoing the dry noodles that my husband actually wanted to call 911. Like, for real. Since then, I might sneak a bite of some raw sausage bits—I don't touch cooked meat at all—and maybe try some sourdough when I'm making it. Honestly, you’ve gotta actually taste what you're cooking 😬 where's that opossum guy gone? Is he on some kind of hunger strike?

Well, my family—mom, dad, sister, and me—used to take a beat-up old car from Indianapolis down to Florida... back in '76. That was then, this is now. By 2036, I’ll probably be wondering how I ever survived without a car featuring a built-in sleeper cab and a dining car. Long live progress!
You people are out of your minds. A car is meant for driving—not for staring at. I can only imagine owning a Peglica and having to actually drive it—and I’m not even that tall—plus trying to cram suitcases in there for a two-week family trip to Florida, not to mention messing around with installing a CD/MP3 player... :horror:
