Back in first grade, my teacher actually called my mom into a parent-teacher conference because she thought I couldn't read—apparently, whenever she’d ask me to pick up where we left off, I’d just blank. Turns out, I wasn't struggling; I was just busy reading *The Adventures of Tom Sawyer* under my desk instead. I don't even think I could read much before I was six, honestly. But once it finally clicked? I was hooked.

God, I could never say this in real life—it’s too cringe and nobody would want to grab a drink with me—so I'm just gonna let it rip here: I SAID IT! 😁
I honestly don't even know how I'm going to pick them up on Monday—but whatever, that’s my own damn fault. Who actually asked me to get married, have kids, and deal with all this crap just to finally get some peace and quiet around 9:30 PM? Anyway, I've got the updates now and I'm feeling pretty smug—my little geniuses are officially the smartest kids in class 😍 total teacher's pets, just like their mom 😍
I was out near the SC downtown for work today around 4 PM and wanted to grab some tickets for the show—but of course, that stupid agency closes at 3. Like, when exactly is a working person supposed to actually buy anything? :razjena baba:
I’m not exactly a huge fan of any FBI albums—but if I had to pick, the second one is better just because it’s less intense. Not that I know much about this stuff; I don't even care for Joy Division.
Like The Band – "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down."
You guys are all jerks—that was actually awesome. Those projections in the back were a vibe, too. Plus, I picked up Random Harvest, which is easily one of my favorite CDs on the shelf right now. Heading off to listen to it.
What is this, am I stylistically cosplaying as Hopey?
Nina is incredible. And honestly, Barbez was easily the most boring show of the season—the only highlight was Moose just yelling "Free Albanian people!" at the top of his lungs.
NP Penelope Houston - Pale Green Girl. God, what a track. 🙏

I spent half my childhood thinking those poor birds in the song actually burned up—it wasn't until I was like 14 or 15 that I realized they were just coming from the hill.
Thinking about all those great sci-fi authors got me digging through some old magazines—found this gem in alpha no 4, a story titled Simon Labelle ' Vomited the Preacher Dean's Cousin Mistress': they're listening to some Beatles cover, and the lyrics go: She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah She loves you, yeah, yeah, yeah And with a love like that what more could you possibly want, man!
Here’s what my roommate was blasting all last week:
1 Paul Simon 69 2 Lambchop 36 3 The Beatles 35 4 Fountains of Wayne 21 5 Yo La Tengo 19 5 Vashti Bunyan 19 7 Talking Heads 18 8 The Velvet Underground 15 9 Joe Strummer 13 9 Willard Grant Conspiracy 13
Yeah—I'm a real investigator, clearly. No shade intended.

Fred is legit—no question about it. It's a shame I can't blast Devendra Banhart at work; his stuff is a bit too intense for my roommate, and I’d rather not deal with that since he’s actually a great guy. Plus, Devendra feels more like a "stay home, late night, dark and quiet" kind of vibe—not exactly the background noise you want while grinding through reports and other bullshit.
np morphine - i know you pt.3 My roommate definitely got a taste of that one. Here’s what my Last.fm stats show—and I've barely been registered for over a month:
Top Artists – Overall 1 Morphine 235 2 Elliott Smith 85 3 Neil Young 80 4 M. Ward 67 5 Paul Simon 66 etc., etc.—won't bore you by copying the rest.
1 Elliott Smith 53 2 The Smiths 32 2 The Beatles 32 4 Lambchop 25 4 Fred Neil 25 6 Fountains of Wayne 23 7 Calexico 21 7 Air 21 9 The Arcade Fire 17 10 Ladytron 15
In my defense—I only listen to music on my computer at work (I actually have a real setup with a player and a turntable at home)—and I have to be careful not to annoy my boss, so there's zero chance I'm playing anything heavier than Buzzcocks.
Just realized I've got three ties for my top spots. What a mess.

Anyway—Siberian tigers are clearly the ultimate cats; they’d eat a snow leopard for breakfast. Other than those, spiders are probably the top tier animals.
My personal checklist for what a guy needs to actually get my attention: 1. Must be an adult 2. Needs to know how to keep a secret 😁
Nicholas King62 said:Yeah, misery isn't exactly romantic.
Actually, it is—romance just sucks. Morrissey - You're the One for Me, Fatty 🙂 Suddenly I'm in a great mood—must be the song. Honestly, I think I need to schedule a week where I listen to absolutely nothing, just to give myself a break from my own constant "overthinking" (copyrighted by yours truly), or more importantly, to give everyone else a break from me 😁 or maybe it's just the PMS 😁
