Just to add a little more to that definition of a railroad:
A railroad is actually a complex assembly of the track structure itself—both upper and lower components—along with signaling, safety systems, telecom, electric traction gear, equipment for grade crossings, signals, markers, and the right-of-way including the airspace up to 40 or 45 feet above the rail for high-voltage lines.

Unlike standard railroads, streetcar tracks are double-tracked.

Not necessarily. If my memory serves—and it usually does—the new line in Indianapolis is single-tracked.

As far as I know—regardless of where you actually live now—you have to head back to your place of birth to pull those citizenship papers and birth certificates.
