Honestly, hemorrhoids are the absolute worst right now... just when I was feeling good enough to brag about them being under control, they decided to come back and kick my butt 😠 And looking ahead at the next three months until I actually pop this baby out... 😱 I have no idea how anyone is supposed to deal with this crap 😢
Michael Hernandez50 said:Honestly, the absolute best part of this whole thing is reading everyone's comments... I mean, what is with all this modern hand-holding and constant caution? Back in my day, we were out in the fields every single day, digging up potatoes and lugging heavy baskets on our heads right up until the moment we went into labor! 🙂
Yeah, and that’s exactly why there were way more spontaneous deaths, stillbirths, and sick kids back then compared to now. The staff at my local clinic gives me the side-eye because my doctor told me straight up that I don't need to sit around in the waiting room—he told me to just walk right in and see him immediately. 😍
Steven Barrett6 said:So you're just like me, you'd probably snap back if you felt like it but we're either too "nice" or way too "chill" to actually react
But man, I've told myself a thousand times already (completely separate from any pregnancy stuff) that I seriously need to change this for my own sake.
Same boat here 😢 And honestly, even when I'm not expecting 😢 I'll end up getting home and just playing the whole situation over and over in my head, totally unable to sleep... I feel like such an idiot sometimes 😠
Steven Barrett6, those people of yours totally give me "Malcolm in the Middle" vibes 😁 Honestly, we’ve got my husband's aunt hanging around our place almost every single day—and that's not even counting the rest of the relatives, kids, and grandkids who basically live here, though I really hope they eventually get the hint and back off 😁. She’s always pestering us and asking way too many questions; I actually think she goes around town bragging about how much money she gives us 😲😲 😠. Plus, she shows up with a nasty cold, sniffing all over the place, and leaves piles of bruised fruit on my counter 🙄... man, I just hit my breaking point, so I finally told my husband I've had enough of her! So now, we just quietly lock ourselves in 😁, and if she actually realizes someone is home, he’ll crack the door just enough to lie and say I'm visiting my parents or just catching up on sleep 😁 You should try something like that. Just fake being sick... tell her the little girls can't come over because you don't want them catching whatever you have 😉
Jerry Fisher3 said:Men who honestly believe they’re experts on pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum recovery, breastfeeding, and newborn care—more so than the average woman—really get under my skin. 😠 I’ll say one thing, and he’ll just stubbornly insist on the exact opposite. A friend of mine gave birth just twenty days ago—she hasn't even really stepped foot outside the house yet—and there he is, right in front of me, lecturing her about how "gross" it'll be for me because I'll be stuck at home during my sixth month. 😲 So, naturally, I told him that's out of the question. As soon as I feel up to it, I don't see why I shouldn't go for a light stroll with the baby. But no—according to him, we have to worry about what *might* happen to the infant, whether I'm "stable," or if I actually understand how much time a woman needs to recover 🙂 : It's like this with everything. The same guy who recently argued that an umbilical cord connects from the baby's navel directly into the mother's belly button. 🙂 What else is there to say? Honestly... :2up:
That part right there.... 😂😂😂 And man, I totally know someone like that too. Honestly, thank god I'm dealing with some medical complications right now so I don't have to run into him, but every single time we cross paths at work, he won't shut up about breastfeeding (I swear the guy is still stuck in the oral stage 😁). It seriously felt like he was trying to inspect me to see if my nipples were out or if I'd actually be able to nurse!!! 😲
So, I’m at this big family get-together today... and of course, the comments start flying immediately. "Wow, you got a little thick, didn't you?" "How are you doing, fatty?" Seriously, is there really nothing better to say to a pregnant woman? And here I was, feeling myself, all dressed up and wearing my favorite 😉.... Meanwhile, everyone else looks like they just rolled out of bed—total messes with overgrown hair, and honestly, half of them look like they haven't seen a dentist in years 😁,.... I swear, I was about two seconds away from telling the whole lot of them to just go jump in a lake! :2up: To top it all off, they were whining about when we were finally leaving, after I’d already spent two hours stuck on some hard wooden bench surrounded by a cloud of smoke from all the smokers 😠
Jeremy Thomas5 said:I have to say, I was quite irritated to see them lock the thread regarding summer babies! 😠
Same here, honestly. 😠 I was just sitting there thinking I’d finally get my life together and make this perfect little checklist with exact quantities and everything, but then—bam—everything went sideways. So, I was out picking up some stuff for the little one today feeling all good about myself, and now I'm back home trying to write this list—scouring other American parenting sites for those summer baby threads—but I am completely lost in this sea of onesies, rompers, and sizing charts... I mean, even Vakul couldn't tell you what the weather's gonna be like this summer 😁, let alone me knowing how big the kiddo is actually gonna be.
analognomad59, don't even sweat it. I actually got the exact same toxo results as you (not immune, despite living with cats my entire life, and they haven't exactly been pampered pets). I've got two male cats at home right now who haven't been tested either. Honestly, I’m just carrying on with life like normal, except I've stopped cleaning their litter box myself—at least now I have a solid excuse 😁. I actually chatted with my vet about the whole toxo thing, and he mentioned it's way more of an issue here in the States because we deal with so much hepatitis, HIV, and stuff like that; people are often on various medications that tank their immune systems, making them way more susceptible to catching toxo. It’s pretty rare around here, though. He even knows a vet who worked directly with sick cats and still managed to stay negative 😉
Kate Cox2 said:Wait, you aren't actually letting her sleep over, are you?? 😲😲
Can't you just suggest she crash at your mom's place or with some other relatives instead?
Man, I really hope not!!! So far she's been bouncing between hotels or staying with other family members. God, my family is such a weird bunch—like, the people who are supposedly closest to me don't even bother asking how I'm doing 🙄
Jeremy Thomas5 said:Mom's aunt... wait, no... she's not your aunt, or even the baby's😕 aunt, she's Mom's... wtf... and Linda, I'm sorry, I really hope she doesn't end up being too much of a handful for you. 😢
She claims she loves me to death (even though we've only met a handful of times) 🙄. I totally get where she's coming from—she's older and just looking for something to do... but damn, she had kids too, even if it was ages ago. I honestly can't tell how long she plans on sticking around 😱 I actually told my mom I'd pretend to be so sick I can barely talk, just hoping maybe that would get her to head out sooner 😁
So my mom’s aunt, who doesn't even live in the States, just dropped a bomb on me today saying she already booked her flight to come see the baby—literally the day before my due date!!! 😲 😲😠 I mean, wtf, what does she actually expect? Like, am I supposed to be playing hostess while I'm totally wrecked and exhausted from giving birth??? For the first month, I’m really just looking forward to having my own mom and dad over to help out, and honestly, nobody else! What is wrong with people? And the worst part is I can't even uninvite her now because she's already bought the ticket 😠 The whole plan was that she’d fly in for the christening we’re planning for maybe three or four months down the road, but now this! 😠
Honestly, this past week has been a complete blur, and I’m just totally losing it—between my neighbors being a pain, my husband driving me up the wall, and just feeling like my own skin is too tight for me, I’m seriously at my breaking point! 😠 I’ve basically spent the whole day crying and just venting everything out, whether it’s because life is actually overwhelming right now or if it’s just my hormones doing a number on me. If it weren't for the Normabel I've been taking, I honestly don't know how I'd be holding it together. 😢 Now I’m starting to spiral a bit thinking about how all this stress might affect the baby. 😢Every time I go down an internet rabbit hole reading about how stress impacts a fetus, I end up totally horrified by what I read. 😢 What do you guys think about all this?
-The wait for these amniocentesis results is driving me absolutely nuts. I called the clinic today and all I could hear was some women whispering in the background before they just told me nothing is ready yet. Like, seriously? If there was actually something wrong, wouldn't they just tell me over the phone? Damn, I’m going to be almost 24 weeks along by the time I finally get the 😢 . -It also kills me how I can't even scroll through my feed without seeing a hundred different people giving unsolicited advice on everything from bath time to feeding schedules to strollers... honestly, by the time I actually get around to doing some baby shopping, I’m probably going to be so overwhelmed by all the conflicting info that I won't even know which diaper cream is actually good or if the kid even needs 😠 in the first place.
Ugh... It’s driving me kind of crazy because I switched over to the sofa last night—which is way firmer than my actual bed—and while my arms didn't go numb like they usually do, my stomach and muscles were all achy this morning. I guess it was just too stiff for me.
I’m honestly losing my mind because I haven't slept a wink in two nights, just constantly being jolted awake by this sharp, stinging pain shooting through my hands 😠😢 Probably something going on with my neck or spine... I’ve been telling everyone for months now that that fancy Tempur-Pedic mattress everyone raves about is way too soft for me 👎
placidwalker6 said:🙂 Why on earth can't people just put a hand over their mouth when they're coughing or sneezing? 🙂 Honestly, it’s always been a pet peeve of mine, but right now I am absolutely losing my mind because someone just coughed right in my face 😲 And then, of course, I’m the one who ends up looking like a total crazy old lady just for trying to point out basic manners 🙄
And they just blow it right into your face like it's such a huge chore 🙄😠 People are seriously gross! 😠
Man, what a day... I’ve already had two massive headaches today: 1. Stopped by the Chase branch, but they’re totally remodeling, so everything is crammed into this tiny little corner with just two women working there. There was this old guy ahead of me—honestly looks like he’s been wearing the exact same clothes for a week straight—😳 just relentlessly badgering one of the tellers about something. You could tell she was trying her absolute best to walk him through it, but he just wouldn't budge. At the other window, some couple was hogging the teller... I finally thought, "Okay, I'm next," only for some lady to start offering them all sorts of little trinkets and fans...(if you work at Chase, you know exactly 🙄 what I mean). Tamann should have been my turn, but then this older woman just cut right in front of me... she probably only had one quick question 😠 but I was honestly getting so annoyed I almost started talking back out loud. 2. Sent my husband over to the gynecologist—trying to get his checkup done now so we don't have to sit in a waiting room during peak flu season—with just ONE referral for Petrov. He gets back and tells me the place is packed, like you can barely even squeeze through the door (the doctor is still announcing that he’s taking new patients 🙄), so he figured he’d just come back later. He heads back around 5 PM... he’s gone for an hour and eventually rolls back in with a referral that’s filled out completely wrong! 😠 So now he has to head back tomorrow just to get 😠 fixed.
Honestly, the thought of my nurses shaving me makes my skin crawl—I have my doubts about whether they actually swap out those razors for a fresh one every single time. I actually made my husband swear a blood oath that if I end up unable to reach everything myself once labor hits, he’ll step in and handle the shaving for me. If I happen to check into the hospital way ahead of schedule, though, I'm really hoping I can still manage to reach down there and do it myself. As for the exams, I had an appointment with Herman once where he was being so incredibly gentle that I almost told him, "Hey, you can go ahead, it's fine," 😁 but then another time with Starčević, it was actually painful—plus, I overheard a few other moms-to-be in the waiting room complaining about how rough he is.
I totally lost my cool today 😠 at this family reunion where—of course—the main topic was pregnancy. This one lady starts questioning why we pregnant women need so many checkups, acting like she knows someone who’s being sent for an OGTT and wondering what on earth the point is, or why I even bother with ultrasounds... just the usual nonsense. She basically thinks because back in her day, like 20 years ago, they didn't go to any doctors and just showed up to give birth, we should be doing the same. 🙄 It gets even more ridiculous, though, because she’s actually telling her own daughter to wait longer to have sex and that there's no reason to see an OBGYN since a woman should just "know" by her symptoms if something is wrong, and why bother with an annual Pap smear 🙄 in the first place. She hasn't even seen a doctor in 12 years... honestly, it's just depressing.
I was honestly getting so frustrated today trying to hunt down some comfy cotton maternity leggings, but I couldn't find a single pair of maternity pants anywhere near Columbus, Ohio—unless I just completely missed them 🙄. It feels like there’s a bridal boutique on every single corner here 😁. Seriously, imagine how much money they'd make if you could actually wear a wedding dress for nine months straight!
