So, if your last period was around January 17th... you’re probably looking at ovulation happening roughly 14 days after that, though it really just depends on how much your cycle tends to vary from month to month.
Is there anyone else here who’s a bit "older" but still on birth control? I’m 39 and carrying some extra weight. I was on the pill for a really long time until I decided to try for a baby. Now, I’m thinking about getting back on them just to manage my flow. I don't know if that's the smartest move, but my periods are absolutely brutal, and it just happens to line up right when I'm planning a vacation. Honestly, the whole thing with blood clots has me pretty sketched out...
Hey, could I get some help too? I’m really hoping to snag some good holiday deals 🙂 I need a laptop for work—mostly just typing up papers, using Office, browsing the web, storing photos, and maybe catching a movie or two now and then. It needs to come with Windows. I won't be doing any gaming on it at all. Looking for a 17" screen.
Grab some painkillers like Advil or Voltaren to take, and definitely pick up some Tylenol gel at the pharmacy to rub on before you head to the bathroom.
Harold James25, I've been dealing with fissure symptoms—mostly pain and burning right after a bowel movement. From what I've read, that pain can be absolutely brutal and just lingers for a while afterward. It wasn't super intense for me, but I could actually see the fissure on the outside and feel it when I touched it.
cosmicviper18, you can head to any hospital that has a general surgeon specializing in that stuff (like Washington, D.C. University Hospital, or even a local Mayo Clinic branch). Just make sure you have a referral from your doctor. Since you've got coverage, it shouldn't cost you a dime.
I had surgery about 4 months ago—HAL-RAR plus a sphincterotomy. I was dealing with stage 2 hemorrhoids and a nasty fissure. Everything was going great until three days ago when, after catching a stomach bug and dealing with some bad diarrhea, a huge external hemorrhoid popped up with a lump about the size of a hazelnut. It’s been stinging and burning 24/7 since then. No bleeding, though. I've just been applying Fact cream and Hemoex. I'm guessing it's basically a thrombosed hemorrhoid. Will it just go away on its own? Any advice on what I should do?
hollowlynx66 said:Linda Ward312, you don't really need to go out of your way to do targeted wipes, though I suppose it might be a good idea to just get a standard PAP test done. You'll most likely end up with a "mixed flora" result. It'll probably mean you either get some vaginal suppositories or a combination of those and some oral tablets.
Thanks! She only swabbed me for anaerobes (still waiting on those results) and handed me some Medicated solution suppositories.
I haven't had any issues in a while :kuckucodrvo: since I switched doctors... so I was wondering what the usual process is like. I gave birth about 6 months ago. For the last few days, I've been dealing with this weird discharge—kind of chunky, no smell, and a little bit of stinging. Honestly, there aren't many other symptoms... plus we use condoms anyway. I'm going to book an appointment, and I was thinking about insisting on getting some swabs done (I haven't actually had them done in at least 3 years)... but I have a feeling she won't want to do it. It's a whole thing—my doctor is super stingy, she charges for ultrasounds without giving a receipt, and she wouldn't even let me get an ultrasound after I gave birth... With these kinds of symptoms, do you think I should push for the swabs, or should I just go along with whatever therapy she prescribes without them? She doesn't even bother checking for cleanliness levels... I'm honestly not even sure if she even has a microscope.
Hey everyone, I'm looking for some solid recommendations for a reliable printer-scanner-copier combo... mainly just for printing out documents.
I've been messing around with an HP OfficeJet 6310, but honestly, I'm feeling pretty lost here... Is it actually normal for the ink to dry up this fast? On top of that, it's being super stubborn and won't accept any third-party cartridges—just keeps throwing error messages at me. To make matters worse, the little access door where you swap the ink has basically snapped off, and now I'm sitting here wondering if it's even worth trying to fix it or if I should just cut my losses.
Hey there! Anyone got a solid recommendation for a high-quality USB drive to store some photos? I’m honestly pretty clueless about this stuff... just looking for something reliable that won't let me down when I need my files. ;-)
Some random lady was actually telling me my stomach looks too big—which is hilarious because I’m honestly worried it’s actually too small! She even went off on this tangent about how I might be expecting twins, though there's zero chance they would have missed that on an ultrasound by now. 😁 About 90% of the comments I'm getting are just people going, "Oh my gosh, is it a girl?!" (Nope, we already have a boy and this one is definitely a boy too).
Frank Scott said:I totally get it... My cough isn't that bad, but my throat has been absolutely killing me lately—feeling a bit better today though. I just grabbed some propolis spray on my own, even though the label obviously says not to use it while pregnant. Every time I look up a tea to drink, it either says "don't touch" or "use sparingly"... 🙂🙂🙂 I've been drinking lemon teas, but the sourness is starting to get on my nerves, so I figured I'd try sweetening them slightly with some GI control juice 🙂
For my throat, I've just been sucking on those sugar-free blackcurrant lozenges. I ended up picking up some Biogen pills just to help clear out the congestion a little. Man, propolis didn't even cross my mind, and honestly, that stuff sounds like it could be pretty nasty anyway.
Ugh, I am seriously losing my mind because this cold has hit me so hard. I’m coughing like crazy, and honestly, every time I hack, I feel like my uterus is actually going to pop out of my body. To make matters even worse, I’ve got gestational diabetes, so my list of "safe" things is basically non-existent right now. I went down to the CVS, but they were being so incredibly strict about what I can and can't take. They don't even carry any sugar-free syrups. So, I thought I’d be smart and just brew some marshmallow root tea since I know that’s usually fine... then it hits me—it has natural sugars in it, which means it’s a total no-go for me too! 🙂
So, I’m pregnant, and because life loves throwing curveballs, I have this big wedding coming up in June. Where in the States could I hunt down a decent dress or maybe a nice tunic for something like this? I really want something that doesn't look cheap or tacky.

But I honestly had no clue what they were even talking about. Is it actually true that women go blind from straining during delivery?! (Assuming they already wear glasses, I guess)
There is just no way I'm buying that!
I wear soft contacts, so I’d probably just show up to the hospital with those. Does anyone know if that's actually okay? 😕
I actually wore my soft contacts when I had my baby. I used Oasis extended wear lenses, so I didn't even take them out for five days while I was stuck in the hospital. I ended up having a C-section under general anesthesia and everything went totally fine! Maybe daily disposables might be a better bet... and definitely bring some reading glasses just in case. At the end of the day, it really just depends on how your eyes handle contacts.
Dana Wilson said:Maybe some C&A or maybe something from Modanasa... just a basic button-down or a polo, you know? Something oversized—since that’s basically the only thing they make these days—with the 3/4 sleeves..
What should I wear for a dressier occasion if I really want to hide my tummy? 😳 I was thinking maybe something black with short sleeves, and like a wrap style—kind of like a house robe where you have a tie that pulls through a little slit on the side 😉...plus something in a thicker fabric so it actually hides the extra fluff... I just have no clue where to shop for this kind of thing. Size 16.
Honestly, I never thought this would actually happen to us while I was scrolling through everyone else's stories on here... but all that constant buzzing and those endless texts asking "are you still holding up?" or "is the baby here yet?" and all that other stuff 😠 ...they aren't even bothering me anymore, they've moved on to bugging my husband. Normally, I wouldn't care, but since I hit the 40-week mark and there’s zero sign of labor, I'm just a total wreck and every time my phone pings, I feel like I'm gonna lose it. It’s just weird because it’s usually our inner circle asking—the people we were going to call first anyway, including my parents.
And man, everything just hurts. My pelvic bones feel like someone literally screwed them into place with a screwdriver, and I get hit with such sharp pains at the grocery store that I end up walking like I'm about to have an accident.😳😁
Oh, and don't even get me started on the grooming situation... since I could go into labor at any second, I feel like I'm shaving constantly and I'm seriously worried my skin is gonna peel right off my legs and down there.😲 (I mean, I always wax my legs and bikini area, but now I feel like I have to be absolutely flawless, so I'm just shaving everything), and don't even get me started on washing my hair.
Rebecca Vaughn7 said:It’s driving me absolutely insane that I can't feel the baby yet.
I know, I know—it's still early. It's my first pregnancy, the placenta is anterior, and I've got a pretty thick abdominal wall... but I just want to feel those little kicks. 😢
Don't sweat it 🙂 I see you're over 18 weeks... I was stressing about the exact same thing, so I checked with my doctor and they basically told me that given the placenta position and my own little extra padding 🙂 it's totally normal. For me, things didn't really start kicking until around 21 weeks 😍 and then it was intense. Now? Let's just say the baby is making up for lost time by absolutely wrecking me 😁 every single night.
