Help! Some random person is harassing me in my DMs in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Linda Price5 said:I honestly don't think there’s a single active woman on this board—or even a guy with a deceptive username 😁—who hasn't been hit with a hundred of those filthy, jaw-dropping pick-up lines that leave you completely breathless.

Well, they don't necessarily have to be deceptive. 😬

boldwalker12 said:Just go into your settings and toggle the option so you only receive messages from moderators and specific contacts—then just add the users you actually want to hear from to your contact list. Problem solved.

I find that approach a bit clunky—honestly, a little too rigid—because occasionally someone will reach out with a genuinely thoughtful message or a pertinent question (which, let’s be honest, I do myself from time to time), yet we haven't "met" on the boards before—meaning they wouldn't be on my pre-approved contact list. It feels unnecessary to have to track down a specific thread where I've been active just to tell them, "Hey, add me first if you want to talk."
It’s much more elegant to simply ignore the unwanted noise; it takes me all of three seconds to hit delete and move on with my day.

I honestly can't wrap my head around how people come up with these notions—or what kind of bizarre logic they use to pick targets in the first place.
At least I don't go around looking for attention myself...🤷

In my experience, there isn't some grand set of criteria; it’s more like you just happened to pop up on someone's radar at the exact (right or wrong 😁) moment.
Personally, I wouldn't waste my energy overthinking it or trying to deconstruct it. 😁

Don't even bother replying to his message—not even to tell him you're ignoring him. 😁
This strategy has worked perfectly for me since I first joined this forum. Every once in a while, a random message pops up in my inbox, but I’ve never actually received two from the same person—let alone had anyone actually harass me—simply because I never even notice those messages exist in the first place.

The food was fantastic, and the platters were well-stocked, though honestly, the only people who might leave hungry are the ones too shy to ask for more. You should definitely tell your guests to speak up if they want seconds; the servers are wonderful about topping everything off without a second thought. 🙂 In fact, there was so much left over we could have easily fed another fifty people, and trust me, nobody went home with an empty stomach! 😁 😁

Best, 😁

Personally, I find it a bit silly—even a little tacky—that guests are expected to essentially "beg" for more food just to ensure they aren't starving.
In my book, it should be standard practice for the staff to monitor the platters and replenish them continuously throughout the dinner service. At the very least, I wouldn't feel particularly comfortable having to flag down a waiter to ask for more food—though, of course, that’s just my own take. 😁 Generally speaking, I've heard whispers that people end up leaving those halls hungry, though I haven't attended a wedding there myself, so I can't speak to that from first-hand experience.
From what I *can* say from personal experience, we weren't happy with a New Year's Eve party we attended at one of those venues; even if it isn't quite the same thing as a wedding, it was enough for me to cross them off my list for any future celebrations.

Honestly, I think anyone specializing in custom stationery could whip something up like this for you. 🙂
It’s all about finding the right designer—someone who actually understands the aesthetic you're going for.
For instance:

(they're based out of Savannah 🙂)

Folks, does anyone in the Midwest know where to find a truly reliable bakery for youth birthday cakes? 🙂

gentlehound9 said:How far in advance should I be booking makeup artists, florists, cake designers, and all that good stuff?
We’ve already checked off the big essentials—like the band and the venue—but honestly, I haven't the slightest clue how early I need to start locking down everything else.

I booked my Makeup and hair as early as humanly possible. To be specific—Chic Studio only just started taking reservations for this year back in December, and I jumped on it immediately, even though I would have pulled the trigger sooner if they'd been open. 😁
Our cake is actually included in the venue package, so we just need to find a wedding cake—we haven't done that yet, and neither have the flowers (we still have six months until the big day). We’re planning to tackle those within the next month.
The reason we’ve been so nonchalant about some things while being incredibly aggressive with others—like my insistence on Chic Studio and nobody else—is pretty simple: there are certain vendors we absolutely refuse to compromise on, whereas for other things—like flowers or the cake—our policy is basically "if our first choice is booked, we'll just find someone else."

If you know there is a specific person or vendor you absolutely *must* have—it is never, ever too early to book them; that was our golden rule, and that’s how we handled those specific bookings. Everything else? We're just playing it by ear. 😁

I mean, surely the guys at the dealership would give me a heads-up if things were actually going south. But hey, we'll see what happens tomorrow... who knows, maybe I'll score a killer deal on a wedding venue while I'm at it... haha

That sale isn't happening at all the Nicole dealerships—it's strictly limited to the single retail location in Vinkovci at the Midwest Orlando Magic store.

Alexander Rodriguez2 said:graniteridge6, my wedding is on September 20th, and I'm actually heading in to meet them next week. The lady told me to come in early—not just for the flowers, but because of the decor, the vases, and the candle holders I want. She wants to make sure they're reserved for our date.

I’m also wondering about the general price range.

Thanks for the heads-up. My timeline is slightly ahead of yours, though I don't plan on diving into the deep end of this planning process for another ten days or so—once I get through a few busy stretches at work. 😁

Does anyone have a ballpark idea of what the pricing looks like at Mozaik (I realize it’s highly subjective and depends on what you're after)? Also, how far in advance should one ideally book an appointment?

silentraven18 said:I gave the Slastine makaron (macarons) a shot, thinking I might put together a little dessert table. I picked up four of them—yellow, white, green, and red—for $8.25 each, and I have to admit, I wasn't exactly blown away. Since I haven't really had macarons before, I can't say for sure if the issue lies with the bakery itself, but in all four flavors, the taste of the actual "dough" kind of overpowered the cream that was supposed to give them character.
At first glance, they look different, but once you take a bite, you're just left with this singular flavor... just the taste of the cookie base.
I suppose I'll have to find some decent macarons somewhere else. Maybe that's just how they're supposed to be? I don't know, since I haven't tried others. But if that's truly the standard, then I'm pretty disappointed 😢 🙂 😁

To be clear, I didn't try the fancy ones—just those tiny little bites sitting out on a platter near their service counter. 😁

Ladies, I have a quick question regarding body care services in Indianapolis or the surrounding areas. Does anyone have a solid recommendation for a cosmetologist who specializes in treatments for the décolletage and back?

There was also the Slastine makaron crowd. Honestly, they’re the only ones who actually made an impression on me at the expo. I sampled some of their more delicate cookies—and while I really shouldn't be snacking on sweets during a lecture, I am seriously considering picking some up as a little side treat.
The rest? Pretty pathetic.

Michelle Phillips54 said:I said it then, and I’ll say it again—moderators aren't actually obligated to issue warnings; it's entirely at their discretion. And yet, looking at this appeal, people are even finding fault with the moderators if the warnings aren't delivered in some sort of overly timid, apologetic tone.

Well, fine. 😬
It seemed to me that there was a new standard where a warning is always issued first—it feels like a much more frequent practice lately—so I assumed you all had reached some kind of consensus on that. 😁
Personally, I prefer it that way, though obviously, you can't please everyone. 😬

(By the way, I thought those warnings on the thread about divorce were triggered by that heated debate with Victor—which, in my opinion, while intense, was perfectly fine and I didn't quite grasp why the discussion had to be stifled—but I missed the side chatter because, clearly, it had already been scrubbed, so when the warning popped up, I jumped to the wrong conclusion.
It wasn't until I saw this specific thread that I realized there were actually deleted posts happening in the background. 😁
Honestly, I was referring to that particular debate when I mentioned that we should let people sharpen their wits against one another a bit... but now I see that isn't really what's going on here at all. 🙈)

Well, you’re certainly allowed to say you’ve been thinking about me. 😁
Honestly, I shouldn't have even brought it up—it was a pointless comment, and frankly, enough time has passed that it should stay in the past. My mistake.
(And, if I may be so bold, I did notice that since then, there seems to be much more verbal sparring before anyone actually gets hit with a formal warning—which suggests some kind of shift in how things are handled here). 🙂

Please just disregard my intrusion; it wasn't particularly appropriate and really had nothing to do with the original grievance.

In general, we need to inject a little more life into these threads—give them some soul, if you will. In the real world, when people debate, things tend to get a bit heated sometimes; that’s honestly where the magic happens. It shouldn't feel like a sterile, sanitized lecture from a corporate HR seminar. 😁
And besides, this tendency to treat users like toddlers in a preschool—well, that’s a trap moderators fall into all too often, and not just on this specific PDF. I doubt it's intentional, but it certainly feels patronizing.

You didn't imagine it. The whole PDF setup is incredibly clinical and sterile.
Personally, I ended up getting flagged because I told one forum user she might want to actually read my post before she started talking nonsense. 😬 (Honestly, it was just that one single sentence).

Then they gave me the whole lecture on how ZUD is simply structured that way. And, well—whatever. It's my choice whether I decide to participate there or not.

If they get some sort of satisfaction from this retroactive sterilization of threads—well, let them have it, I suppose—honestly, I didn't even realize they were deleting things until now. 😁

I honestly can’t wrap my head around why everyone is approaching this discussion with such sheer aggression and intolerance.
It is precisely for that reason—that palpable hostility—that I generally steer clear of these kinds of debates; frankly, I find the atmosphere on neither side particularly appealing.
I have zero interest in dissecting anyone's hidden agendas (and let’s be honest, plenty of people here certainly have them)—instead, I prefer to simply process what is actually written using my own brain, rather than obsessing over which "side" the author happens to represent.
Perhaps I ought to just add a disclaimer to my signature stating that I am against the motion, just so I might be considered a more credible conversationalist.
