Stipe, are you actually working with him on the kimono stuff?

And now, I have one serious question for the group. Which clubs actually stay active and run things normally over the summer in New York City? I was thinking about dropping by for some scrimmages or whatever else they might have going on

Jeffrey Taylor49 said:I am at a complete loss here. What exactly am I supposed to be explaining? You’ve provided absolutely nothing—no context, no background, just a vague demand for clarity. It is quite frankly baffling. How can one possibly provide an analysis or a breakdown when there isn't even a subject to work with? It’s like being asked to solve a complex calculus equation while staring at a blank sheet of paper. Truly maddening! Please, for the sake of my sanity, provide some actual substance so that I might attempt to address your inquiry. 🙂🙂

So, I heard this ridiculous story—honestly, it’s just absurd—about some girl who used to train at our local gym. Apparently, she ended up putting some poor gentleman in a triangle choke! Can you believe that? And yeah, okay, fine, if we’re being completely honest, they were both under the influence of alcohol. It happened during one of those wild neighborhood block parties where things clearly got out of hand. Just... total chaos. Typical. 🤣 ...but then again, she just went ahead and strangled him. Honestly! It’s all so incredibly chaotic. 🤣

So, I was just sitting there, minding my own business, when I noticed it. A tiny, subtle little bump right in the groin area. Just a slight indentation—hardly even noticeable if you weren't looking for it, which, let's be honest, nobody is ever looking for that! It’s one of those things that just catches you off guard. One minute everything is perfectly normal, and the next, you're staring at your own skin wondering what on earth is happening. Is it nothing? Is it something? I don't know! I'm not a doctor, obviously—I can barely manage my own schedule, let alone a medical diagnosis—but it’s enough to make anyone a bit twitchy. You start spiraling, thinking about every weird thing you ate or every minor injury from years ago. It’s unsettling, truly. Just a small, nagging little irregularity that stays on your mind.

unrecognized, please! That thing isn't even a real piece of clothing—it’s either some ridiculous novelty jockstrap or just a tiny scrap of fabric masquerading as underwear. Honestly, what are we even calling that? It’s absurd. 😬

No, seriously... it's not like you're still being haunted by those traumas from that whole triangle incident 🤣 🤣 😉

Check out this BJJ match from some no-gi tournament. This woman was competing against guys, and honestly, she absolutely tore him apart. 🤣
http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...5698939&q=nogi
P.S. The video file is only about 25 MB, so it should load fine.
Basically, the guy pulls guard, she passes right through him, moves into side control, and almost gets to the back mount—then he slams her! But she recovers, gets into mount, and snaps on an armbar. 🙏
The guy wasn't playing nice at all, either. He goes for the slam first, then actually stomps on her bicep just to try and break out of a triangle choke.

I think there might be an Alliance BJJ branch around here somewhere

He was weighing in at somewhere around 185 to 205 pounds, I think. They wiped him out in the first round—obviously, that’s why. Honestly, he played a bit dirty against a smaller opponent by catching a leg with a heel hook, and the guy refused to tap just because he was ahead on the scorecards. What a mess.

Sarah Booth said:Hey there... this is actually my first post here, haha.

So, I’ve been training Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu on Saturdays for a while now... Classes run through July, then we take a break until October. Since I won't be heading to the beach, I want to use that downtime to level up my standing game and build some actual strength—because, frankly, half the crew can't even defend against me since I'm 17 and they're already 20, haha. I've noticed my lack of power is a huge hole in my game during rolls, so I was thinking about signing up for a Judo, Sambo, or maybe even a Muay Thai club over the summer... What do you guys recommend? Any specific gyms?

Generally speaking, I'd lean toward Judo or Sambo because those takedowns are vital for my entries. Right now at my club, we mostly stick to the basic stuff—you know, those predictable shots straight for the legs that get read easily and turned into a mount. On the other hand, Muay Thai would help with raw strength and striking (which isn't strictly "needed" for BJJ, but hey, I want to train that area too; the dream is to be a complete martial artist one day)...

So, what’s the move? What do you all suggest?*

One more thing... Are there any BJJ competitions in the US for cadets or juniors (whatever category I fall into)? Like how Judo has them. As far as I know, the only tournament I can realistically show up to for BJJ is the Vegas Open, but I feel like the competition there might be way too advanced for me. It reminds me of those heavy-duty state championships. Hehe.

What does it matter if they're 20 and you're 17? Absolutely nothing. It all comes down to the work you put in on the mats.
As far as I know, you can't find Sambo anywhere around here. So, if you don't have sessions over the summer, look for another BJJ gym further out—ask around, there are a few other solid clubs in the city. If not, go with Judo; it'll fix your takedowns.

Right now, there aren't really any BJJ tournaments around here besides the Vegas Open. And why on earth do you think the competition is too old for you? Two guys from my club competed in the last two tournaments, and both were just barely 17.

How to trim an MP3 file? in Software ·
Paul Lee28 said:Alright, thanks! I'll give that a shot. Honestly, what I really need is a way to take, say, an 80-minute electronic set and split it into several different files, just so I can jump straight to the specific parts I actually want to hear.

Man, I am in the exact same boat here. It is taking me forever to manually cut and paste these specific sections. I know for a fact I used to have some software where you’d just mark a spot, hit "new index," and boom—it would slice the whole set into pieces for you. But now? I'm staring at this program and I cannot find that function anywhere. Does anyone out there actually know how to do this?

He’s actually acting proud about hating country music because—get this—he fancies himself some kind of radical extremist. It has absolutely nothing to do with the music. Honestly, it has nothing to do with having a brain, either.

Look, I don't call myself an extremist, nor am I trying to act like some big-shot ultra-patriot, and I don't like country music. It's simply because that stuff is absolute garbage.

Let me just jump in here and give this guy a quick response.... I was born in a real city, but now I’m stuck out in some tiny backwater town where all anyone listens to is that mindless country trash... In a town of 5,000 people, about 4,100 of them listen to that garbage.... leaving us 900-odd rock fans as the total rejects.....

That’s some pathetic excuse for an average, though honestly, I think there might be even fewer of us left.....

"wanderingridge"

You’re as dumb as they come, no offense intended... but that’s just how the cards fall.... I’m not a Mexican.... I'm an American.... but you remind me of one of those ultra-nationalists who claims to love their heritage while blasting that cheap pop music... give me a break :kill:

Look, you are genuinely dim-witted, and I wasn't even quoting you, I was quoting steelwolf80, so try using your eyes to read better next time. For the love of God, where did I ever say I listened to country music?!!? 🤣 Now we're just making stuff up to suit the narrative.

Just some city boy. Tell me, how are you even different from us hillbillies?
Miles Davis rules.🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂

It’s pretty obvious you listen to that low-rent pop trash... judging by the way you call it "music." 🤮

Either that, or you're a Mexican. If it's the latter, I can't say I blame you.

Absolutely disgusting. Honestly, I can't wrap my head around it either. Just pure, unadulterated idiocy.
The People's Temple in Movies ·
Yeah, so it’s from that series. I borrowed it from a buddy, thinking it was just going to be some mediocre, typical American adaptation of the whole thing... but man, I did not see this coming. If I’d known, I wouldn't have even bothered watching it. I wouldn't go so far as to say it’s objectively "bad," but it is absolutely sick, plain and simple. Especially the way they shot it—just when you finally get immersed in the movie... it's revolting.

I’m still just sitting here, staring blankly at my monitor, completely paralyzed by the shock of it all...😱

The People's Temple. Honestly, I’m not usually one for heavy cinema, but for some godforsaken reason, I decided to borrow this flick today thinking I could handle it.
Ugh, it was just... depraved. Truly. I actually feel a sense of regret for sitting through the whole thing.😱 😱 😱 🤮
And man, that guy who filmed it? 🤮
PS. I saw that thread about "disturbing movies," but honestly, this one is in a league of its own and deserves its own damn discussion. 😲
