rustydrifter10 said:Meaninglessness is just another way of saying someone broke the rules—it’s just phrased a bit more specifically. Basically, if a post or a thread isn't well-developed enough, it doesn't belong here.
We don't keep track of stats.
I really shouldn't start dropping links to all those locked threads that were left up despite being "meaningless"...
And let's not get ahead of ourselves with the attitude—the guy asked a perfectly valid question and didn't do anything to deserve being shut down like that...
rustydrifter10 said:Here’s how thread opening works. Any posts that don't meet the requirements can be locked, deleted, or moved to the archives... depending on the specific situation and the moderator's judgment.
The site moderators make the call. If you feel certain threads should be removed entirely, just report them—we'll take a look and see if action is actually needed.
The community guidelines specifically mention "sanctioned and locked" or simply "locked." You're basically twisting a clearly stated rule that doesn't say anything about deleting senseless threads.
Locking things keeps them visible but contained—just like archiving does—but deleting them under a rule that doesn't exist... well, that just creates doubt.
Just don't act surprised when people start accusing you of overstepping your authority—you're really just asking for it at this point...
So, I’m asking for some clarity on the specific rule used to delete meaningless threads—you know, the ones that get wiped while the offensive or "spring fever" posts just sit there being ignored... Also, I'd like to know the exact criteria for when a thread is deemed "meaningless" enough to warrant a hundred-point penalty.
With this kind of approach, you're running into two major issues—and I’m talking directly to the administration and the supermods over at PZ... just so we're clear who I'm addressing here: It feels like you’re just trying to shut people down—like you’re using those kinds of expressions just to silence someone else... You’re breaking the rules by trying to enforce regulations that don't actually exist—and honestly, this isn't even the first time you've done this...
Take Splendid, for instance. You ended up leaving two completely pointless threads behind—all because you decided to delete the original one just because you personally thought it was nonsense...
Besides, since when did you all become the official benchmark for what makes sense...? Just take a look at the first two pages of the PZ... honestly, don't be surprised when a bunch of weirdos and bizarre characters start pointing fingers at you for absolutely nothing—because actions like these are exactly what invite that kind of behavior in the first place...
This time I really am not at fault—I gave a perfectly on-topic, reasoned response to a valid question and ended it with a direct quote... only to be met with this:
Quote: Ace of Diamonds said:Since you clearly have special protection on this forum—and it’s been proven on the main site that the rules don't apply to you like they do to everyone else—do me a favor and take your condescension and arrogance elsewhere... just leave me out of it.
Ace of Diamonds said:You're actually hilarious.
I'm not just talking for the sake of it. Either you're incapable of understanding what was written, or you just feel the need to dump your daily dose of crap on this forum—or maybe you just enjoy being a bully and exploiting people you can get away with, and now it's finally biting you back. 🙂
Anyway, you're just not worth my time. Bye! 👋
I don't entirely agree with my own warnings, honestly... I didn't come anywhere close to insulting her nearly as much as she insulted me. But fine, let's say I got flagged because I chose to engage with this nonsense, even though I knew beforehand it would lead to a warning. I guess I got them because, given how long I've been around here, I should have been smarter and just used the ignore button. I'm not going to make a scene about it, though...
But things like "you aren't exactly smart" and "maybe stop watching those psychic shows" don't even come close to these outbursts of pure frustration and insults.
It’s not even surprising that the mods have to read your posts with extra caution.
And yet, I'm apparently such a big deal that you're digging into how the mods operate—and am I such a big deal to them that they're just ignoring me? Or did they give you access to the staff area? Or are you some mod's clone? Interesting, either way.
So I guess you just want to be nominated for moderator again, so you're making up complaints.
If you could see past the end of your own nose, you'd realize that's NOT how moderators are chosen. Usually, it's long-time contributors with thousands of posts. 🤣
I never put my name in for a mod position (who even does that? 😕), it's not something I want, and I didn't even bring it up in my appeal. But hey, everyone's got their reasons for scratching an itch. 🤷
Good grief, this is worth a ban—you've been getting on my... nerves for what, a year and a half now? Finally, a chance. 😁
It's funny how you didn't get banned, but rustydrifter10 was right on top of this topic. This kind of blatant stalling of an actual reasoned appeal, combined with personal attacks instead of actually addressing the topic at hand, is definitely ban-worthy according to the rules. rustydrifter10 used to hand out bans left and right for much smaller trolling than this, yet this gets a pass. Interesting. I guess she finds it convenient to belittle me like this so the appeal resolution follows that same tone. 🙂
Ace, you’re honestly just so irritating and arrogant in how you carry yourself—acting like there isn't a single soul around you (which explains why nobody even knows who Paul Morales3 is)—that it’s really no wonder the mods have to read your posts with extra caution. This topic you've brought up is about as relevant as the outskirts of Topeka or Lansing... basically a zone of special government concern. It's not like any woman said anything terrible to you, so I'm assuming you're just making up complaints because you want to be nominated for moderator again.
If you could see past the end of your own nose, you'd realize that's NOT how moderators are chosen—you'd need to be a long-time contributor with thousands of posts like 🤣
Go take a nap, and maybe come back once velvettrucker52 finishes rearranging the kids' room and actually has some free time... perhaps then your little complaint will gain traction and Kate Foster12 will nominate you for mod.😬
Good grief, this is worth watching—honestly, you've been getting on my nerves for a year and a half now... finally, an opportunity.😁
I’m actually rooting for more emojis. In times as chaotic as these—maybe expressing ourselves through visuals is just better than trying to find the right words on a keyboard... 😳
goldenscout14 said:Haha, this whole situation is pretty interesting. I’d bet money that a few people in this thread have absolutely no clue what’s actually going on which—honestly—just adds to the comedy of it all... 🙂
On pages 56, 57, and 58 of the thread regarding moderation criteria over at the FBI, supermod Blood Moon is just out there provoking, trolling, and spamming—all by his own choice, apparently, "because he's dragging the admins into it."
I really don't think it's right to let this slide from someone who’s a moderator on the forum, especially since he made it clear the topic doesn't concern him—not that he understands it, either... though clearly, being confused shouldn't be an excuse to drag out three pages of off-topic chatter.
I’m kindly asking if someone could request that he either contributes something smart and constructive or just steps back. When a regular user makes a well-meaning suggestion to participate properly, it only seems to trigger these snarky responses like, "it's my personal choice, okay? 🙂" which, honestly, are viewed as nothing but pure trolling both here and on the other boards.
So, I’m not actually asking for a ban or a strike—just a warning. The guy is young, and maybe no one has taught him yet that forum members are actual people too... and that nobody is obligated to dig up links just because he can't be bothered to read two threads.
I’m honestly all for giving Larry Walker24 moderation rights over FIFA
Since he's already hanging around here, we really ought to be channeling that energy and drive of his properly... I'm being completely serious about this. 😳
I’d like to suggest that the moderators consider banning posts that clearly smell like religious provocations—it might be worth carding them, too. Around here, faith is so deeply intertwined with social issues, though that certainly doesn't mean it shouldn't be mentioned at all... The Zodiac Killer is starting to make a presence in the "nature and society" subforum, and if we pay attention and standardize our criteria, this could actually become a quite pleasant place again.
Why am I bringing this up? Well, because I was one of the first people to use terms like "non-humans" and "altar-lickers" on that very topic—which are basically insults targeting religious foundations. Unfortunately, I didn't realize what I had actually written until Kevin Mitchell20 and gzena warned me—each in their own way. Posts like mine should be carded, because from an outsider's perspective, it really looks like it's okay to lash out at an entire group with such ugly language. Just because most writers there probably know I don't have any personal beef with believers—especially not as a whole—doesn't mean I (or anyone else) should express myself that way. If nothing else, we should do it for the sake of the decent believers who just read along, but don't dare post because of the general atmosphere... or because they feel insulted before they even get a word in due to the prejudice that believers are inherently backward, or whatever other themes are slowly becoming the leitmotif here on the Zodiac Killer.
Insulting and marginalizing people based on their religious beliefs is against the law, whether that faith is the majority or a minority 🤷
As for politics—having concrete political debates wouldn't make the Zodiac Killer any more pleasant anyway; I actually like the ban. Politics in America is often just another word for corruption, and there are other ways to talk about it—bringing up things like the Civil War or the Red Scare feels pretty unnecessary...
I still can't shake the feeling that Xena was punished way too harshly. She was basically standing there all by herself, yet she ended up taking the heat for everything we thought about those booth crews—even though, if I'm being honest, I eventually went back and apologized for my own comments once I realized how I actually sounded... It was definitely heated, sure, but she was really just defending herself and her point. Could we please, please reconsider the decision?
Following the admin guidelines, I have a few questions...
Nica said:Discussion regarding ZK... Please, if you feel like you still need to talk about this, just start a separate thread—it doesn't make much sense to let all those thoughts get lost in here. This specific topic should really just be for the smaller questions that only need a quick answer...
electricjackal55 The user said:First of all—good grief—what on earth are you doing with those instructions?...
Just some quick stats—off the top of my head—for the group that actually showed up to collect the cardboard...
The group of people supporting the movement includes stormyraven14, Morticia Addams, coppermarlin13, Tick, Beta Female, Diana something (sorry, I can't recall her handle), steelskipper5, jpk, Skate, Sadie, Jamie Davis17, and silvertiger11... There might be more out there—honestly, I’m just typing this from memory...
Anti-Lyla, anti-Xena, and you—plus that other person with the mouse in their username, I can't quite remember the exact handle...
So, you actually went ahead and banned both steelskipper5 and Djepika—though I honestly can't wrap my head around why... Just tell me one thing: how do you people who claim to be against the gay community justify acting like such absolute clowns? 🍿
As for me, I’m strictly against that initiative—and honestly, I’m pretty much against anything being too gender-friendly... Please bring back the smileys... 🙂
And another thing—does anyone actually know what the new rules for the women's corner are now?... If it were actually allowed... Go jump in a lake, honestly. Just get lost already. Between the insults, the mindless name-calling, and the constant ad hominem attacks... it’s just non-stop trolling everywhere you look...
Since when...? I mean, have you actually read the wrap-up report, or are you just guessing about how those cards played out...?
Morticia Addams The user said:Why did Xena get banned? I can get where they're coming from regarding Lyla—she definitely gave her all and played it fair—but as for Xena? I don't know... 🤔 Aside from her telling me to go screw myself—which, honestly, was pretty hilarious—it’s just not enough to warrant a ban... 😳😁
Kevin Mitchell20 The user said:What I was pointing out refers to the women's corner in general—where the kind of language I bolded can actually pass without getting flagged...
Morticia Addams said:Isn't it basically defined that the women's corner is almost entirely unmoderated? I mean, isn't that what we fought for? 😬 And velvettrucker52 clearly stated at one point that things had spiraled out of control on this thread and that moderation would be tightened from that moment on.
It's honestly laughable... every few months we end up tripping over the same thing and it always ends the same way. I don't see anything special about this situation. 🤷
Kevin Mitchell20 said:Yeah, exactly—that's why I don't get the surprise, since that kind of language is perfectly legitimate in the women's corner. 😁
Well, yeah... freedom for everyone... always... everywhere... 😬
stormyraven14 said:Administration, please work with the women's corner mods and join forces to ban Xena. True, more of "us" have received warnings than "them," but that's only because there were more of us and everyone jumped on Xena because she was the only one holding the line and trying to actually maintain a discussion. It isn't fair to punish her just because she spent practically half a day alone against everyone—every single person was provoking her simply because she was the only representative of "their" side, and she eventually cracked because she responded using language that was much more polite than "ours."
It’s not fair; you really have to consider the circumstances. I'll offer this: just give me her last warning instead, because one of my posts probably should have been labeled as an insult rather than trolling anyway, so I'd end up banned regardless. I'm not great at math, at least...
Anyway, Xena handled herself beautifully, she wasn't being insulting, and it feels like she just "fell" so that everything would look fair.
Please review the decision and rescind her warning.
If you just give those Zidić women their Zidić back, I solemnly swear—on my stuffed bunny that happens to be exactly one year younger than me—that I will never, ever, EVER troll anyone or cause any trouble around here... not even a little bit.
To put it bluntly—without all the moderator jargon—quoting a post just to drop a smiley face is considered spam. Under our community guidelines, that’s enough to land you a warning card... If you aren't sure, the rules are pinned as the very first subforum on the main page, and you can also find specific rules at the top of almost every individual section here on the site.
