Well, the front office *was* pressured early on... Hrvoje went to Cleveland regarding the deal, but after Abba's reaction, they shut that whole process down pretty quickly and decided not to bring him on... however, after Radman's little blunder at Dodger Stadium, the board ended up hiring him anyway, and that's when the total fallout with management began and the protests against the fishermen kicked off... and let me tell you, nobody ever cheers for an octopus after he makes a save, nor do they spit on him afterward (and I'm talking specifically about Abba).

Another thing—you guys can barely pull more than 50 people together. Maybe 15 or 20 from a place like Portland, and the only time NYC showed up was with 500 last time.

If you ask anyone in the States who Californians are, they’ll first tell you people from LA, San Diego, or San Francisco. I mean, if you go asking people across the US who the Istrian or Rijeka natives are... they’ll give you those specific labels, and you’ll just swallow it whole... again, right?
And as for those valley folks... well, that label is just like calling your "true urban Californians" by some local nickname.

Long story short: I hope tomorrow, both the coastal types and the valley dwellers take that heavy workload from our Northern colleagues and melt it down into something actually valuable!

Exactly...but honestly, it’s not even dark enough yet. I assume there are still some pessimists lurking around here? We kind of need them to gear up for the game... though personally, I doubt even that will save us. I just don't see us having the legs to actually run out there. I’m not exactly holding my breath regarding our chances at gold tomorrow against those European heavyweights. Honestly, I just don't think our guys have the physical stamina left for a fight like this. Look, they've got all the heart in the world, but once the adrenaline wears off, the injuries are going to start screaming. You look at Caleb's rib, Metelica's ankle, then you've got Balić, Lac, Sulić, Vuković... man, just watching them limp around gives me a sympathetic ache in my own chest. I’ve gotta tip my hat to them again for what they've achieved; they really are absolute warriors.
