Maybe go grab yourself a handful—or a bucketful—of popcorn and see if anyone starts bowing down to you like that! Why not mention an actual musician who actually dealt with their struggles head-on instead of just chasing a high?
Let me introduce you to a truly honorable artist!
Eddie Vedder — People even turned on him and Cobain because they released the album "Vs." (we're talking about Pearl Jam here) without filming a single music video! Meanwhile, Nirvana cranked out five or six videos for the Nevermind album. Of course, "Vs." still climbed straight to number one on the Billboard charts. Instead of turning to drugs—even though he lost a ton of friends and his mentor was found murdered (it was a dark time, really)—he used his earnings to buy instruments and donate to charity. He writes songs with such soulful, melancholic themes, too, but man, maybe you just haven't caught the message in those lyrics yet.
P.S. Don't you dare try telling me you should be just like them and start using drugs...
Oh, and one more thing: damn you, Bon Jovi, damn you!

The whole concept of grunge 😁 is fine in theory, but it’s totally unachievable... Besides, why on earth would I want to listen to the ramblings of people who have completely lost their grip on reality? No way...
And yet, here you are, loving songs about how fat someone's wallet is (you know, rap and gangsta stuff), or songs about people's messy personal lives (like Britney and her crew), or maybe even those tracks about Jack's weight and digestive issues—or perhaps you prefer tunes about smashing faces and breaking bones (Limp Bizkit! And of course, the fun-loving crew)... or maybe it's all about big assets and sexy moms (Beyoncé)... lalala
Grunge was achieved a long time ago, my friend, and it's still very much alive—you're just clearly out of the loop.
p.s. Try brushing up on your English and look up a grunge lyric or two; maybe then you'll realize that you're the one who's actually losing it by spouting such nonsense! 🙂

I saw it listed for $79.99 at WOM back in St. Louis.
Naturally, I passed on that deal! Why bother? I figured I’d just grab a jersey from Hleb instead. In the end, though, I went big and picked up the most expensive one from Soldo and grabbed the the.Ramainz.live.in.new.york CD. For that same amount of cash, I even managed to snag the whole album for free through my university portal, including the DVDrip . I definitely didn't want to hand that kind of money over to those Krtna Luv creeps just to fund their habit... honestly, they can take it and shove it!
I honestly can't stand it when people drone on about how Nirvana changed the world and try to put them in the same breath as The Beatles. Give me a break, seriously...
But hey, no point in getting worked up over it now!
My take on the CD? Look, it isn't perfect, but I have to admit—it absolutely rocks.
However, there is zero chance I'm buying it until the price drops down to at least $30$117, because right now, this asking price is total garbage.
In Germany, you can grab it for about $80 (which is basically what I could spend on 7 or 8 Nirvana CDs), but here in Chicago$233, they can honestly just go jump in a lake...
I’ve watched the original, Night of the Living Dead, Dawn of the Dead, and Day of the Dead several times now—they're all sitting right there on my hard drive—and honestly? I have never once understood how those damn zombies, with their incredibly slow and uncoordinated reflexes, actually managed to take over the entire world! That said, I really dig how the set design doesn't feel like a total carbon copy of what came before.
The cast is solid, but let's be real: the special effects and the score are just as impressive. Even if you consider that the director set the story in the 21st century, the movie still holds up beautifully.
It’s been a long time since I’ve seen a remake this well-executed.
Now, we just wait for the sequels, Day of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead.😉
Day of the Dead and Night of the Living Dead rating 9/10
I really wanted to love this one. The concept? Brilliant. I'm totally on board with the premise, but man, the execution just didn't hit the mark for me. There were certain sequences that felt completely off. For instance, they could have leaned much more heavily on CGI for the werewolf transformations. And don't even get me started on that scene where the werewolf is crawling up the wall—it looked so fake and awkward! It was just jarring.
All in all, it’s a fun enough watch, though let’s be honest: once again, it takes a whole squad of badass women to save the entire country. Honestly, what would we even do without them? 😉 😛
Hehe, did anyone else catch this? I finally sat down and binged a few episodes after a solid 7 or 8 years away. Honestly, Jason is still such an absolute legend...
One, two, Freddy's coming for you... 😉
Does anyone happen to know if there's a way to find these on a digital platform or maybe a streaming service? I’m really itching to marathon the whole series—all seven of them—in one go!
It looks like quite a bit has gone down here while I was away! 😉
Regarding lonegardener14's comment about "Pearl Jam - Last Kiss"—actually, that isn't originally a Pearl Jam track 😉. It’s more of an older song that Eddie Vedder just happened to love so much that he decided to record a studio version of it. (There are actually a few other gems like that which people often mistake for original Pearl Jam songs, but they're such lovely covers, like: Throw Your arms around me, Soldier of Love, The kids are alright, or Gimme some truth... lalala.)
As for picking a top five list, of course, it's nearly impossible to satisfy everyone! Everyone has their own specific flavor of Grunge that hits home, so I’m really curious to know which bands the rest of you gravitate toward most. 😉 😛
Now, don't get me wrong—I'm not saying anyone's input will change my mind about a band. I know all of them inside and out; I've been studying their discographies and following their careers for years now... but!!
Listen closely, because here is the BUT!!! I am totally open to suggestions! Whether it's discovering a new band or remembering one I might have accidentally overlooked, I would absolutely love to dive into something fresh!

Based on my ten or so favorite spots, I’d say Nirvana is the whole MTV vibe... Honestly, I have no clue why anyone would even try to categorize them like that. Why the sudden urge to trash talk Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, or Soundgarden? They are playing the absolute best music out there! You can't just isolate great art from the rest of the world. Just because someone happened to catch a news segment on MTV and decided they hated the band—well, forget that and forget the whole thing!
p.s. Why are you flexing with Mudhoney? I own all their CDs, and they just happened to be left off this list, so let's not get worked up immediately.
I really don't know what the hell we're trying to fight about constantly.
I know I haven't included everything! I decided to stick with the more iconic bands for this list, which is exactly why I mentioned that you should let me know if I missed anything important!
So, I’m thinking this thread is meant for the more niche corner of the forum... maybe I've got that wrong?
Please, I want to hear what you all think!
Basically, we're talking about bands like: Mother Love Bone, Mad Season, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Alice in Chains, Nirvana, Bush, Blind Melon, Smashing Pumpkins, Stone Temple Pilots, Temple of the Dog, and Audioslave (to an extent)... honestly, my apologies if I missed anyone!😛
Here are my top 5 favorites (I’d pick 50 if I could, but let's keep it simple!):
1. Alice in Chains - Nutshell 2. Pearl Jam - Black 3. Temple of the Dog - say Hello 2 Heaven 4. Pearl Jam - Yellow Ledbetter 5. Blind Melon - Change
They're all pretty mellow... they aren't exactly heavy hitters, right? Anyway, catch ya later! 😛
