Honestly, just try refreshing the forum index a few times. Sometimes the new threads pop up instantly, but other times—and this happens more than I'd like—you have to hit refresh four or five times before the list actually updates...
What an absolute disaster the last few days have been
boldbadger1 said:So, here I am, posting again after nearly a month—and honestly, it’s the first time anyone has even acknowledged my appeal.
I got slapped with a two-month ban just because I called Los Angeles FC a "total dumpster fire" in one post. I even clarified that I wasn't insulting the users themselves—just the club—but apparently, that wasn't enough to stop them from claiming I was attacking people personally. Which, frankly, feels a bit unnecessary.
The thing is, people are constantly calling the New York Red Bulls "mommy's little loser" during soccer discussions, and even my own team, Austin, was being called a loser that same day—which is exactly what provoked my outburst in the first place.
If you aren't going to lift the ban, at least let me participate in the other sub-forums. I’m actually quite active over in Careers, the Expat section, and I frequently try to help others out with advice or resources—I even have a specific script for UX that people ask me for all the time.
It was the admin ZoomZoom who banned me, though I can't even find the original thread now since I'm locked out of my messages.
Thanks in advance, and stay homegrown!
Sorry, but I have to be honest—it's just plain gross to be typing on this forum again, and I'm savoring every single letter I type. :zubo:
So, here I am, posting again after nearly a month—honestly, it’s the first time I’ve ever filed a grievance where nobody even bothered to reply.
I ended up getting slapped with a two-month ban because of a single post where I called Los Angeles FC a "donkey's mess." Apparently, the mods interpreted that as an insult toward the users themselves—which is just nonsense, since I was talking about the club, not any individual person.
It feels pretty hypocritical, though—I mean, people are constantly calling the New York Red Bulls a "mommy's little mess" in soccer threads, and my own team, Austin, was being called a mess that very same day (which is what triggered my little outburst in the first place).
Look, if you aren't going to lift the ban, at least let me participate in the other sub-forums. I stay pretty active over in Career & Jobs and the Expat sections; I'm always trying to help out with advice or resources—I actually have a specific script for UX that people ask me for quite frequently.
The moderator Bryan Adams6 was the one who banned me, but I can't even find the original thread now because I've been locked out of my own messages.
Thanks in advance, and stay homegrown!

The Finns are absolutely crushing Americans on the basketball court, while Americans are snatching up medals in skiing right from under them.

Take the Maltese, for instance. Back in the day, Florian was the powerhouse—and honestly, they might be the only club in history to ever clinch a top-tier league title without losing a single match, let alone conceding a solitary goal...
But now? You've got clubs like Gzira tearing through Europe...
Laura Evans2 said:The topic is pretty broad.
Basically, looking at what things used to be versus how they are now.
I feel like we’re missing a thread like this here.
It isn't just about being nostalgic.
It's more that soccer—the whole game—has taken hits and is constantly shifting.
Trends cycle back.
And they keep introducing new stuff.
Think about it—back in the day, a goal without hitting the woodwork was the norm, whereas today, seeing a ball rattle off the post is practically standard. Or take officiating: players used to basically call their own fouls, and now? You’ve got seven different officials hovering over a single match. It goes on and on like that... Feel free to dive into any of those shifts if you want.
So, does anyone actually have the playoff results handy?

I see this whole Zoot situation as being similar to those summer riots, much like https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Long,_hot_summer_of_1967
I'm going to dig up a list of historical mob violence cases 🙏
Looking at the documentation now, it shows that prior to WWII, about 90% of African Americans lived in the South. Once the war hit, they started migrating all across the country to take up jobs in the industrial factories.
Oh, and I almost forgot—the list of massacres 😬
It changes the whole perspective—you know, it finally puts together a coherent, accurate picture of US History 🙂
Nathan Murphy said:I'm watching this documentary that kicks off by diving straight into the unrest that hit Los Angeles back in 1965. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Watts_riots I was already familiar with those events, much like the disturbances in Detroit, but I decided to dig deeper to see what other major uprisings were on the record. I ended up stumbling upon this list: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_riots 🙏 It feels like there’s enough historical material here to research one significant event every single day. Anyway, getting back to the doc.
LOL, I actually thought I was the only one with this specific obsession. My personal favorite has to be the Zoot Suit Riots 😬
Highly recommend checking out the lists of civil unrest across the States 😬

Honestly, you’d be surprised. Lately, there’s been a real influx of Latinas—lots of women from Venezuela and Brazil—and I see them everywhere, and they are incredibly easy to talk to. Even before that, there was a significant number of Eastern Europeans around, specifically from places like Ukraine and Russia.
Paul Sanders5 said:Plus, they help out with the bills, which doesn't hurt either. 😁
Well... everything's been settled—Larry Fox5 will know exactly what that means when the time comes.
Look, these girls are out here pulling in $60k or $80k a year—which, let’s be honest, isn't exactly breaking the bank, but enough to feel fancy—so they act like they're doing you a massive favor just by letting you buy them a single round of drinks. It’s funny, really—if you can call it that—how they carry themselves with this untouchable attitude, acting like they don't need a dime from anyone, all while being perfectly capable of handling their own business without some sugar daddy stepping in to bail them out. They want the independence, sure, but then they still expect you to pick up the tab for a cocktail... it's a strange way to play the game.
Kyle Campbell4 said:Don't bother trying to change anything about the gray hair. It's a simple reality: younger women dealing with daddy issues are naturally drawn to guys in their 40s and 50s who are rocking the salt-and-pepper look.
And honestly? I’m seeing more of them every day... I can back that up.
Now, look, I’ve always enjoyed being around women (and men, for that matter), but lately, it feels like being 40+ has become a massive trend—at least within these tech circles or among highly educated professionals from abroad.
But it’s not even about "daddy issues," as much as people love to claim. One woman told me straight up that she simply doesn't have the patience to raise some immature kid—she'd much rather be with someone mature, someone she can actually hold a conversation with and learn from.
Karen Hill40 said:Go to hell🤣 that's definitely not my target audience.
Heh, I’ve always taken it as a compliment when people say I look like a fine piece of museum art>
Karen Hill40 said:If I actually had gray hair, at least 😢
There's nothing sexier than a clean-shaven look—honestly, the guys at my office—who are all a bit more "alternative" in their tastes—have officially crowned Pep as the sexiest coach out there.
Justin James10 said:Isn't it ironic when the same crowd that was out there throwing flowers at tanks rolling into a besieged city starts weeping after just ten days of shelling? 🤣
Actually, I know an even better group—those folks from the small towns out West, sobbing over a few hours where maybe two hundred shells hit an Army base like it was some kind of nuclear strike.
Good grief, more ordnance probably dropped on a random suburb in Ohio than hit that whole town during the entire conflict...
And honestly? The most ridiculous thing I ever heard was this old lady claiming she was "shocked and appalled" because some local militia was tossing flowers their way through the neighborhood—as if they were some sort of savages or something.😬
Anthony Wright30 said:Honestly, I've grown quite tired of them. Their constant weeping over things like 9/11 just seems to trigger a bit of a backlash.
The absolute highlight was that statement from Vucicev: "Wait, who exactly were we even attacking back in '99 that caused NATO to bomb us?!"
It isn't just an individual personality issue; we're looking at a full-blown societal narcissistic disorder.
History only begins whenever it suits the narcissists...
steelharbor9 said:The most rigged machine out there has to be B92. Every single article about Vozd turns into a massive pile of top comments consisting of just a few words praising him, all from accounts with names like Mark, Maya, or John... They really do a terrible job with the anonymity, even on sites where they actually could hide it, let alone on a forum where you can spot the plants immediately 🤣
lol, quoting those comments is pure gold:
"President Vucic is doing everything in his power to make America strong"
"President Vucic truly cares about the prosperity of our nation"
"President Vucic never sleeps, and even when he does, he's dreaming of how to better America"
"The alliance with Rwanda is vital for both nations" — that one's my favorite.
