Blood pressure, the weather, and this nagging headache!
The heat is absolutely killing me. Honestly, I’m thinking about moving to Finland just to escape these sweltering temperatures. My blood pressure was sitting at 100/30 earlier, but now it’s jumped up to 150/80—it's all over the place, really. My head is pounding, too; it seems like the longer the day goes on, the worse the pain gets.
Taylor Perez said:Do you get that sharp, stabbing sensation when you’re, say, bending over, shifting positions, or stretching out? It started just a few days ago for me, and honestly, the intensity caught me completely off guard—it actually had me feeling pretty worried... does this kind of pain usually pass in a couple of days, or is it something you're stuck with for good?😕
Actually, I just had a sharp pang right now—it feels lower down, almost like it's deep inside my pelvic area. It’s such a sudden sensation that my reflex is just to squeeze my legs together and tense up. If I try to push through it and keep being active, the pain just lingers, so I usually have to stop and rest. This all started maybe a week or two ago, and I suppose it might hang around for a while. It seems to flare up whenever I'm moving around—you know, like when I'm trying to stand up or even just walking. But if I'm just sitting still or resting, it doesn't really bother me.
Taylor Perez said:I’m dealing with intense bloating, shortness of breath, and this sharp, stabbing pain in my abdominal muscles from being stretched way too far. I can't even find a comfortable position to sit or lie down in, and my D-dimer levels are elevated... I just can't take any more of this.

Terry Ramos60, maybe you could take it down just a notch? Honestly—the girls just come here to vent and blow off some steam, and I think they really need that space. It probably wouldn't help to add any extra tension to the mix. 😉

It really gets under my skin too, especially since I have absolutely no desire to go into labor early. I mean, after the 38th week? Sure, maybe. But before that? No way. I honestly don't understand why people feel the need to push that idea on me.
Charles Miller3 said:brightridge19, you should also tell those geniuses that the fine is $167 if you aren't using a proper car seat for your kid. Maybe they actually care about "love" or whatever—since clearly safety isn't on their radar. People seriously underestimate how chaotic driving is these days. 🥳
Unfortunately, that's just how it goes. When none of the logical arguments seem to stick, I usually just bring up the legal penalties, and suddenly everyone goes quiet.
Ashley Price57 said:"Are you prepping your nipples for breastfeeding?" -"No, I read that it's actually useless nonsense" "But I was covered in sores! You have to scrub them with a towel!!!" -"I won't... That isn't recommended anymore. Thanks for the advice, though.." "Fine, maybe I am old-fashioned, but I'm just trying to help you. Everything has changed lately, but my intentions are good, you know? Don't take this the wrong way, I only want the best for you. Whatever, I just hope you don't end up having bad luck like I did with those wounds... I was just thinking of your own good, okay?" -"Right, thanks.." "Am I really that old-fashioned? Honestly, you modern moms have the internet and everything at your fingertips, but you can't believe everything you read. You say you won't give the baby chocolate, but just wait until they ask—you'll see how hard it is to say no then. It's easy for you to talk now, but I'm telling you this for your own sake so you don't make decisions too early. Not everything on the internet is accurate, you know..." -"Thanks for your opinion, but I'm sticking to my guns: a six-month-old doesn't need bananas or chocolate.." "BUT I'M TELLING YOU FOR YOUR OWN GOOD.........."
God, these conversations are so exhausting... Am I just being overly sensitive? 🤔
It’s funny how that works—my mom was rambling on about some random stuff she found online, and when I pointed out that the internet was actually saying the exact same thing she was, she just went quiet. It was one of those moments where there’s nothing left to say, I guess. She usually has her opinions on everything, though she did struggle a bit with the whole idea of how things work for a newborn here in the States; my sister and I eventually had to step in and walk her through it just so we could all be on the same page.
Charles Miller3 said:Lately, I've been hearing it from both sides—they’re all insisting I need some fancy baby carrier just to get the little one out of the hospital. Their logic? "Oh, we all carried you in carriers and look how fine you turned out!" Like, seriously? I've told them a hundred times—no, we're using the car seat. But nope, Mom’s back at it with her nonsense: "But I saw such a cute little Moses basket!". 😁😁
Newbiee, what do you say—want to head down to the workshop together? 😉
It feels like they’ve been dancing around the idea of divorce several times throughout their lives, but now—it seems like things have actually reached a breaking point. Honestly, though, what really gets under my skin is how she keeps dragging my husband into the middle of all this drama, which just ends up triggering a whole new set of complications... And then there's my mother-in-law—she just won't stop spreading rumors and trying to fill our heads with all this nonsense. We've already made it clear to her that we aren't interested in hearing any of it, but she just keeps doing the exact same thing over and over again.
Honestly, my in-laws have been driving me absolutely up the wall lately—it’s their senseless divorce, and now they're trying to drag my husband into the middle of it, and apparently, our house is next on their list of things to meddle with.
To’s funny—I’ve actually had a few people suggest that I should rethink the name we picked for our little one. But honestly, we just feel like why should we have to second-guess what we love?
Anthony Watson35 said:Bus situation today; heading back to my hometown from Washington, D.C. The driver? God help us, what is wrong with these people. At that stop near the Liszt concert hall, he pulls away without even glancing at the rearview mirror, the doors, nothing—he just leaves. This elderly woman starts yelling at him to stop. The idiot just keeps driving. She tries again, sounding totally panicked. Nothing. A few of us join in, shouting "stop !!!" But no luck. The woman finally reaches this moron, right on the edge of a breakdown, practically in tears. She’s old, looks so fragile it breaks your heart. And she keeps repeating, "Please stop, my husband couldn't get on, I have to get off, he has Alzheimer's." And the idiot does NOTHING. Does this half-wit even know what Alzheimer's is, let alone care? The poor lady was BEGGING at the next stop, but this absolute jerk wouldn't even give her the decency of a single sentence. It wasn't even rush hour, no traffic, nothing; he could have pulled over for literally three seconds, let her out, and moved on. When he finally did pull up by the Sun clinic, she barely made it out before tripping and falling because she was so shaken up. That stinking piece of trash just shut the doors and kept rolling like nothing happened—typical ZET-style behavior. Honestly, his sheer rudeness and lack of humanity pissed me off so much that I'm calling their damn headquarters right now to find out where I can file a formal complaint against their incompetent staff. I KNOW it’ll probably go nowhere—because when you're dealing with a thieving monopoly like them, who cares?—but I'm at least going to tell them exactly what I think. Poor old lady... I really hope she found him... 😢
I got so worked up I actually started tearing up. I'm writing them an email right now. May they all rot.
Anthony Watson35 said:I honestly got so upset that I felt like I was going to start crying from pure frustration. I think I'm actually going to send them an email right now—honestly, I hope they all get what's coming to them...
You should definitely write that email; what an absolute jerk! I mean, how can someone be that inconsiderate?! I really hope he gets a taste of his own medicine!
I had such an annoying encounter the other day with this nosy neighbor who kept badgering my husband about why we finally decided to take down that tree in our yard. Honestly, who was even bothered by it? My husband tried to explain—quite patiently, I might add—that it wasn't really a nuisance, we just don't eat the fruit and we spent the entire fall just dealing with the constant mess of falling leaves; plus, the tree was leaning right against the side of the house... But no, this guy just wouldn't let it go, constantly questioning why we’d bother removing it. It really got under my skin! I was sitting out in the backyard listening to the whole thing, though he didn't even notice I was there. Eventually, my husband just lost his patience and snapped, telling him that if it bothered my wife, then that was reason enough. I mean, seriously, why do you even care what we do on our own property? If we already gave you an answer once, why do you keep digging?
I think I’ve just started feeling more worn out lately. It’s funny—I’ve noticed this pattern where the transition between trimesters feels almost like a literal hour shift in my energy levels. Once I hit the third trimester, everything just became so much more taxing than it used to be. Even the simple things feel like a mountain now. For instance, I can't even tackle mowing the lawn without ending up stuck in bed for two days afterward because my body just completely locks up.
Roger Lopez35 said:I can’t stand it when people ask if the baby has "come back to life." It’s such an incredibly mindless thing to say, honestly. I suppose that’s just the kind of nonsense you tend to hear from the older generation...
In my case, I found myself having to explain to everyone that, well, the baby was already very much alive. I mean, I had actually seen the heartbeat myself during the ultrasound, so there wasn't really any doubt on my end. It was actually the medical staff who had to clarify things to me—they meant they were waiting for that moment when I could physically feel the movement, just so I'd have that extra reassurance. I did end up asking them why they didn't just phrase it that way, since the baby was clearly living and breathing all along. I suppose it’s just one of those old-fashioned ways of speaking—back before every pregnant woman was getting regular scans, people might not have felt certain everything was okay until they felt that first kick. After I spoke up about it, though, nobody ever asked me if the baby had "come back to life" again; instead, they'd just ask if I was feeling any movement or how things were progressing. Though, to be fair, I haven't the slightest clue what the baby is actually doing in there—I certainly can't see it! 😁
I’ll be the first to admit that my weight is a constant source of irritation for me—but... I don't exactly broadcast that frustration to the world. Honestly, only one close friend really knows how much I struggle with my body image. I haven't even made such a big deal out of it to my husband, if that says anything. I suppose I'd rather let people assume I have this perfectly polished, unshakable self-image. Because of that, I don't think I was ever really targeted by bullies growing up—well, except for those few random people who were only in my life for about five minutes anyway.
Steven Barrett6 said:Honestly, I’m actually stoked about it.😕 Like, I know for a fact I won't have any issues breastfeeding later. It doesn't just leak out of nowhere—I can pretty much grab those little drops whenever I want 😍😍😍 I just gotta pull my nipples out a bit first.
I’m also holding onto hope that this is a good sign for my milk supply, but honestly, why is it already leaking? It actually caught me totally off guard yesterday when I noticed a drop on my stomach. My nipples are always sort of in between being pulled out or tucked in, and it’s been going on like this for months now.
