But what if someone else is using the computer and you don't want to leave a digital footprint? That doesn't seem like a real solution—I mean, we should be able to just log in normally without all these extra hurdles.
Koala, I found that my period started out pretty much the same way back when I was taking Logest—and honestly, even after I stopped altogether. I just kind of assumed it was the start of my regular cycle.
Does it actually specify which day of the week on the packaging? For instance—and this is just how I tend to handle things—I always make sure to start my pills on the exact same day every single week. So, if I happened to kick off a cycle on a Saturday last time, I’ll pretty much always be starting the next pack on a Saturday too.
I’ve been running into this frustrating login issue myself lately. It starts when I first hit the site—everything seems fine, and it shows me as being logged in. But then, once I actually dive into a subforum to reply to a thread, I'll type out my whole post, hit submit, and get hit with an error saying I don't have permission and need to log in again. I end up having to re-authenticate over and over for every single topic. Or, even weirder, I’ll be mid-thread, browsing through the pages after making a post, and suddenly the system just treats me like a guest again. This has only really started happening recently on this specific forum; I haven't run into any of these glitches on other sites where I have to sign in.
gentlegardener83 said:Until recently, I didn't even have a visible bump despite being six months along. Everyone was acting so surprised by how flat I looked. Now that it’s finally showing, it feels like every person I encounter thinks they have a right to poke at my stomach, which is honestly driving me crazy😠. That space is reserved for my husband and me—and maybe anyone else if I actually feel like inviting them in. It shouldn't be an open invitation for every random relative or acquaintance to grab at me . And then there are those classic unsolicited comments... you know the ones. "Just wait until the baby gets here, then you won't be able to just lie down and relax or enjoy some peace and quiet," blah blah blah...🙄
Ugh, I absolutely loathe this! It honestly feels like people are trying to threaten me—like they're wishing all the worst upon me, hoping the baby won't sleep or won't eat... Honestly, just back off. You have your child, we’ll have ours, and we’ll both be perfectly fine.
As for people touching my stomach—well, all my friends and family already know that I’m generally not much of a touchy person, so they’re already asking if they'll be allowed to feel the bump. I told them, "It depends on my mood." If anyone tries to touch me without asking first, they might find themselves losing a finger. And that goes for more than just now while I'm pregnant; it's just how I am.
My husband just completely drove me up the wall. I was picking him up from work, and he casually mentions that he needs to drop something off for one of his colleagues. I thought, "Sure, let's get that done so we can head home, tackle the housework, maybe prep some dinner—I was thinking about making a big batch of chili and some homemade cobbler or something"—but apparently, that wasn't the plan. No, we’re heading out for drinks instead. He didn't even mention it earlier because, honestly, he knows I wouldn't agree if he'd been upfront, especially since we have so much to get through at the house. He promised he’d help me out, but now he’s just been glued to his phone for the last hour, giving me the silent treatment because I'm rightfully annoyed that he isn't stepping up to help.
Gomez — how did they actually confirm it was the flu? Did you get tested? And what are you taking for it?
Honestly, even when I’m not pregnant, nothing gets under my skin quite like firecrackers. I absolutely loathe them! I sometimes find myself wishing everyone else would just lose a few fingers to them. Then there’s this acquaintance of mine—she's a little further along in her pregnancy than I am. She drives me absolutely crazy by prying into my private business, and then she turns around and dumps all her own intimate details on me. It's just... well, neither of us needs to be in the other's business, I suppose. To make matters worse, her husband is all worked up about how "pitiful" we men are now. He keeps trying to egg my husband on, insisting he join in on the pity party because—for heaven's sake—I asked my husband to bring me some tea since I wasn't feeling up to it, and he actually did it. So what now? Is he supposed to feel sorry for himself just because he was being a decent partner and brought me a cup of tea?
boldpilot13 said:Ugh... I gave birth six months ago, but the memories are still vivid. I absolutely loathed it when acquaintances would reach out and grab my stomach without asking. And God, the sudden influx of self-appointed gynecologists was unbearable—my mother-in-law was the worst offender of them all. - "Your bump is sitting too low; you won't even make it to your due date," she claimed. I delivered exactly on schedule, June 16th. - "The baby will likely be bald, maybe even hairy, 🙄 given how much acne you have." My child is currently as hairless as biologically possible. 😍
- "Oh goodness, all those ultrasounds... why do you insist on radiation exposure?"
- "Just get some sleep now while you can; you have no idea what's coming once the baby arrives." As if I were heading straight into a concentration camp 🙄 rather than parenthood. My child started sleeping through the entire night at one month old, and they haven't woken up since.
Et cetera, et cetera...
Protect your peace, ladies. Some people simply feel a biological necessity to run their mouths. 😁
Honestly, that really gets under my skin too—the implication that you can somehow "stock up" on sleep beforehand. It’s just not how it works.
"What's the point of buying all that? The kid will outgrow it in a week, and you won't even have time to do the laundry anyway..." "Why bother? You know how much free stuff you'll get once the baby arrives, right?" etc., etc.
Yeah, sure. Like I'm expecting someone to drop off size 2-month-old outfits during those first few weeks. Honestly, I'm barely planning on letting anyone through my front door for the first month anyway. ☕
That's just not true, though. I've mentioned this on the forums before; my sister actually ended up missing out on those tiny little outfits because she listened to everyone else. She simply couldn't keep up with the laundry and drying. It might be true that babies don't wear certain sizes for very long, but you still need plenty of pieces because of constant changes and washing. And you certainly don't get those newborn-sized items handed to you during the initial visit period.
wanderinghawk said:Advice 🙄... Honestly, who cares about a crib? The kid will just be sleeping with you and your husband for the first year anyway! ☕... What car seat? You basically just carry a newborn in a swaddle... 😲 Now you’ll probably have to get rid of the dog. It’s common knowledge that dogs get jealous and go after small children. I heard a story from a friend of a friend of a neighbor—some lady's acquaintance had that exact issue. Her dog ate her baby... or maybe the dog will just get jealous and toss the kid around like a football. 🤣 🤣 🤣 ... I don't even know whether to laugh or cry at this point. 🤷 And how on earth are you getting to the top floor without an elevator? I guess you'll just have to carry them up in pieces...
Fortunately for us, nobody really commented on the crib situation—though there were plenty of people claiming their own kids never used one and that ours wouldn't either. Right, because they're clearly experts. As for the car seat, I actually ended up getting into quite a debate with my mom when my sister had her baby—it was the exact same argument as above—but luckily, we managed to convince everyone how important safety is. Regarding the dog, my dad was the only one who asked how we'd manage it. And he got his answer.
Michael Barrett11 said:Honestly, my hair is driving me absolutely crazy! 😠 It’s gotten thinner lately, and I swear I'm losing way more strands than I used to. I suppose I just inherited this from my mother.
I'm feeling the same frustration regarding my hair. It has zero shape and gets greasy so fast—not to mention I've noticed strands falling out too.
And honestly, the "helpful" comments about what I should be eating or what counts as healthy food really get under my skin... especially since I don't feel like explaining to everyone that I don't exactly have money to throw around on organic superfoods, so we just eat whatever we can afford.
To be honest, I’ve been feeling pretty frustrated lately by some comments from a woman I work with. Most of the time, we get along just fine—she’s actually quite fun and we're usually on the exact same page—but the second the topic shifts to kids or babies, she becomes this incredibly depressing, pessimistic person. It’s constant... she just keeps going on about how terrible everything is, how much you have to worry, and all those other gloomy scenarios.
1. Oh, you have no idea... you don't know what's coming. You won't sleep, you won't even have time for a bathroom break, blah blah blah... you just don't get what having a newborn is actually like. 😳 2. You've put on some weight... I mean, not that you're fat, just, you know, "lovingly" soft. 🙄 3. (Ever since my doctor told him I was in labor) So, how's it going down there? Any progress? Are you doing okay? You having the baby today? 4. (The "genius" father-in-law after I had my mucus plug pass) It looks to me like you're just scared. Why? I mean, I once had surgery for a hernia... 🙄 5. Random women who don't even know me, yet feel entitled to weigh in after I sneeze once: "Don't you dare catch a cold," "Are you serious?", "You really need to take care of yourself."
There's plenty more where that came from, but honestly, the more I think about it, the more annoyed I get... so I'll stop listing them...
This whole thing is starting to get under my skin, too. I mean, honestly, I couldn't care less about how things are "supposed" to be; right now, I feel great and everything is going smoothly. Even when I eventually can't sleep? Well, that'll be fine too. It’s just frustrating being told how to feel!
Edward Rodriguez4 said:Damn straight! I don't know much about this specific thread regarding what bugs us during pregnancy, but I definitely know about another one on here where someone (not naming names!) basically made a complete fool of themselves recently... ☕
Honestly, my husband is the one driving me crazy right now! For real! He's been snapping at me constantly for the last three days... then I end up tearing up—which isn't even like me, I don't cry easily—and he just goes, "Why the hell are you crying?" 🙄 Listen, honey, you better watch how you treat me, because if you keep this up, I'm putting a dash instead of your name on the baby's birth certificate!!!!! 😬 But seriously, I actually want him... ☕
I second that! Though, if I'm being totally honest, I am a bit of a crybaby anyway.
Zachary Thomas12 said:I’m not exactly an expert on all this medical stuff, so I’m hoping someone here might be able to shed some light on my question. My friend just picked up a pregnancy test from CVS, and she’s wondering if it’s actually okay to take it this afternoon. The instructions suggest waiting until first thing in the morning for the most accurate results, but she really isn't in a position to wait until tomorrow. Her last period started back on October 5th, and her cycle is usually pretty regular—somewhere between 26 and 28 days—though it did stretch out to 32 days once a while back. Honestly, we’re both feeling a little bit anxious about the whole thing...
It looks like you didn't get an answer the day you posted, so I assume your friend probably already took the test by now. Anyway, I figured I'd share my own experience. Personally, I almost always ended up taking a test in the afternoon, but I wouldn't just go out and chug water to make it happen—I'd wait until I actually felt the urge to go, and in my case, the results were always accurate. That goes for both negative and positive results, too. I used to buy Victoria's Secret or Mini Cooper tests, and while both instructions suggest using the first morning urine, it's not like it's a strict rule.
Hannah Roberts86 said:Alright, here's the lowdown on my OBGYN visit... went in yesterday since my period is super late. It's been over 22 days now, so I was totally hoping I finally knockeded it up. We've been trying for like 4 or 5 months straight with zero luck, and sadly, this month was another bust. I'm pretty sure we timed it perfectly last month—hit it right on ovulation day or maybe just a day before or after—and since I know sperm can hang around for a couple of days, I thought for sure it would work. But nope. My doctor mentioned my left ovary looks a bit polycystic, which basically means getting pregnant might be an uphill battle. He tried to play it cool though, saying nothing is set in stone and some women barely even have periods and still conceive. Still, I'm freaking out because I want that positive test so bad and it’s just not happening... Maybe I just need to chill and stop obsessing. Anyway, my doctor put me on Duphaston to get my period started, so I started taking those today. I'm already on day 52 of my cycle. Got one more question, might sound dumb but whatever. :About a week ago, I noticed that stretchy discharge and my ovaries were actually aching . Is it possible my ovulation was just that delayed? Like, 15 days after my period was supposed to show up? And can you actually get pregnant after your period was already overdue? I don't have any symptoms that my period is coming soon either. I'm totally lost... the doctor says everything looks fine on the ultrasound, except for those cysts. 😕 😢
I honestly can't say for sure, but I have heard—though I'm not entirely certain how much truth there is to it—that some women actually experience two ovulations within a single cycle.
shadowbear49 said:Look, I don't want to freak you out—and honestly, I can't speak for every single brand out there—but I'm on Yaz, and with my specific pack, you really have to finish the whole thing. For me, my period starts about four days after I finish that last pill, so completing the cycle is super important! I really hope you aren't on Yaz and that other brands work differently... -.-
Well, you're definitely being a bit alarming here. While it's true that most pills require you to finish the full cycle, if someone misses a dose—like what happened in this situation—missing just one wouldn't necessarily throw everything off; her cycle might just shift by a day, or maybe nothing changes at all.
Walter Anderson13 said:I have a dilemma. I’m taking Logest (on the good days) and I’m supposed to start a new pack tonight, but my period hasn't arrived yet. I’ll take a test just to be safe, even though I don't think I'm pregnant. What now? If the test comes back negative, should I still start the new pack tonight or wait?
If the test is negative, then yeah, you should definitely just keep going and start the next pack. And if you miss your period again next month despite a negative test, that's probably when you should check in with your doctor.
I figured I’d jump into this thread too—mostly just to vent a little because my period is running late. It’s only been three days, granted, but still... it’s late. Usually, things arrive right on schedule or even a bit early, though I did have one instance about eight or nine months ago where it was five days behind. My ovulation seemed to happen a bit later this cycle than usual, so I’m thinking maybe everything is just shifted back and I might get it any day now. Then again, there’s always that possibility of being pregnant, though I honestly can't recall if we were being perfectly consistent with protection every single time. I’m definitely going to pick up a test, though I didn't grab one today because my husband and I got into a bit of a disagreement over it. He thinks I'm just wasting money on tests and is convinced I'm not pregnant.
