Got bitten by a few mosquitoes the other day and man, they weren't small bites. It’s starting to settle down now, though. I've noticed a ton of people reacting like this lately—it's like the mosquitoes have gone absolutely feral this year. But... one of the bites has this redness about two inches wide and maybe an inch long.
Anyone got a suggestion for what I should rub on this? What can I apply (I started using cold compresses today) so I don't have to end up at the doctor's over this crap? If this is just a preview of what's coming for me this summer, I am screwed. We get swarms here all the time, but this year is just insane. 🙄
Are we talking about all these drugs coming from the same handful of big corporations? Like, the doctor writes a prescription for something from Bayer, but she ends up pushing something from Pfizer instead.
Look, it doesn't matter what side you're on, you can't deny things look shady when this kind of stuff keeps happening. If a doctor writes a specific prescription and they just insist on pushing some substitute—and then turn around and attack anyone who dares to push back—something smells fishy to me. 🤷

That was the issue in that specific thread, but what's the point of filing a formal complaint? I tried reaching out to dustyranger64 directly via private message, but he wasn't even remotely interested in listening. 🙂
I am well aware of what a Permaban is. If I held any semblance of authority here, hollowtrucker77 would have been hit with one ages ago; I haven't encountered anyone more obnoxious in my life, whether online or in the real world.
Well, have it your way. If they strip my partial access to Lies, it'll be about as permanent as moving a mountain, so don't come crying to me later.
In any case, I frequently stumble upon fascinating discussions where I could offer some insight or advice, only to feel that familiar sting of disappointment when I realize the conversation isn't happening on the USA site and I'm unable to participate. 😢
If you understand how a permaban works, why are you constantly begging the admins and mods to take away something you don't even have?
And why are you bringing up Sash in this at all? Why dig up some ancient bullshit from years ago? 🤷 What does he have to do with your personal vendettas? If you can't stand him, just put him on ignore. It's not that hard.
Sam Wright21 said:Look, my first instinct was to just request a permanent ban from every single board he moderates, but once I actually thought about it, I realized how futile and pointless that would be.
Besides, you remember that whole mess over on the Linguistics thread, don't you? After hollowtrucker77 made those vulgar outbursts that clearly warranted a permanent ban—which were flagged twice, mind you—he showed up just to lecture all of us in bright red text, specifically targeting Sam Wright21. Then, he went ahead and slapped me with a warning card over some nonsense involving Felix, even though I hadn't insulted him and he certainly wasn't directed any animosity toward me.
The point is, being persecuted by this individual seems to be a recurring theme for me, but since I haven't caused any trouble over on the Lies boards, I see absolutely no reason why you wouldn't lift my permanent ban. 🤷
Do you even know what a Permaban is? 😕 A Permaban means someone is permanently kicked off the entire site; it means if you had a perma right now, you couldn't post in this thread or anywhere else on the forum under any username. What you're asking for is a partial ban—a restriction on certain sub-forums.
And while we're at it, if you're going to beg for a partial or permanent ban, you better be ready for it. If it actually gets approved, don't come crying to me in a few days saying you changed your mind. I'm not lifting it just because you have a meltdown.
Did someone actually ban you just for using words like "hell" or "damn"? Or something along those lines? Which specific rulebook are we looking at? I need to know what to avoid since I tend to drop an "f-bomb" more often than I should. 😁
I’m assuming we all know the difference between saying "what the hell" and telling someone to "go to hell." First off, you aren't getting banned for it, and second, it all comes down to context.
I’m spinning this off into its own thread. Honestly, if anyone actually wanted to reply to you, they would have just done it on the other one anyway. But look, you seem to be in a massive rush, so I won't nitpick about the redundancy. Let it sit here and there. 🙂
Look, getting a Cardboard for breaking rules usually means you tripped over something listed in the pinned PDF at the top. Every single PDF has its own specific set of guidelines, so you really ought to read them before you start typing. What flies in one section of the Reddit might get you a Cardboard in another without any heads-up. If a moderator hands you one, you can always just ask them which exact rule you violated.
I normally include an explanation in the thread warning, but yeah, sometimes I just drop a Cardboard without much fanfare. The rules are right there at the top for everyone to read and figure out where they messed up. If things aren't clear, people can always just shoot me a DM and ask.
I think people are generally way too fearful. Out of pure intimidation, they don't even bother reporting issues, let alone filing a lawsuit, which means professionals wouldn't be nearly as careful as they should be. What's the worst that can happen? They won't just stop treating you or let you die just because you filed a complaint, right? I highly doubt it. Usually, when there's a massive panic over the threat of a lawsuit, people start sucking up to everyone instead of acting all arrogant.

I’ve been taking my pills very regularly and quite strictly for two months now; I haven't missed a single day, nor have I taken them at the wrong time, I suppose. Today, my boyfriend finished inside me for the first time, and I think I might be in my fertile window. I did take my regular pill last night. Is there any chance that I could end up pregnant?
If you're on the pill and actually taking it correctly, there is no ovulation. 😉
What’s the big deal? That warning was for Michael Diaz4 because he dropped a YouTube link to some guy who literally crapped his pants while working out. It was disgusting, totally off-topic, so I deleted it.

She's in a place where there's no more pain or suffering. 😢 She fought so hard, truly brave, almost martyr-like, yet incredibly patient despite the unimaginable agony she endured... pains we can't even wrap our heads around... all while dealing with massive doses of morphine.
But now, it's over. It's done. The pain is gone.
Goodbye, Mom... until we meet again on the other side. Thank you for everything. ♥

Besides, we’ve got this situation where the Democratic Party is all about enforcing strictness—acting like they're the judge of who knows what and who doesn't—throwing out threats, and then suddenly playing the victim publicly, acting like "oh, I'm just young/new and struggling." I can easily see some rookie user getting a bit overconfident in their ignorance and getting banned by a mod right out of the gate. Would you even be able to host a discussion like this then?
I've always been more lenient with new users. 🤷 My logic is simple: someone who’s been on the forum for two days isn't going to know the rules or the culture as well as someone who's been here for two years. I'll let newbies slide on things I wouldn't dream of letting veteran posters get away with—like typing in all caps, for instance.
The guys were installed on the 11th, which means they haven't even been moderating for five days. I think you're blowing this way out of proportion.
Look, when you start a new job, do you honestly expect to walk in on day one and perfectly navigate every situation, know exactly what to do, and handle every new colleague or client flawlessly? I highly doubt it. This is pretty similar; it's not a career, but the mechanics are basically the same, and you can draw those parallels.
Look, give them a break. These guys were just installed recently; they’re still finding their footing, and honestly, you all are breathing down their necks way too hard. Let them catch their breath and actually figure out how moderation works on this subforum. It isn't the same thing looking at some PDF through the eyes of a regular user versus seeing it through a moderator's lens. It takes time to adjust and realize when to let things slide, when to cut stuff off, and when to actually step in.
Raymond Brown10 said:Hemorrhoids are just a sign of a dirty liver ...obviously you've got bad diet, booze, smoking (or heavy training for athletes) to deal with too, but I honestly think detoxing your liver twice a year is essential.
Do you actually have a link to some medical study that backs this up, or are you just talking nonsense?
So it’s been a week and it hasn't let up? Does the pain fluctuate at all, or is it just constant? Are you positive it’s actually your liver and not, say, your stomach acting up? You need to see a doctor. It's been days now, clearly this isn't going away on its own, so go hit up your primary care physician. They'll run the necessary tests and send you from there.
