Chris Johnson88 said:melloworca6 mentioned on another forum that TSH should be at 2 or lower and that anything else might be an issue... So I'm not really sure.... 🤷
thanks...
Look, I'm telling you, this is a normal result by standard measures, but since you're trying to conceive, it's probably a bit high.
We've already gone over this thyroid stuff before; every endocrinologist seems to have their own little theory. One doctor tells you it's fine, while another insists it needs to be between 1 and 2 if you're planning a pregnancy. Then you get some doctors who ignore the TSH and just look at the T4, deciding on treatment based solely on that. It's all a mess 😵
That's why I'm saying, just go see an endocrinologist. Bring all her lab results, tell them you're doing IVF or trying naturally, and ask for their take. Personally, I think they'll put her on medication just to rule out the thyroid being the reason things aren't working.
For example, when I'm ready to have a baby, I’m going to push my TSH down to that 1-2 range. For those of us with thyroid issues, levels tend to spike fast during pregnancy, and I don't want to deal with that headache. Even though I'm functioning pretty normally right now with a 3.5.
If you have more questions about this, just head over to the thyroid thread. We can hash it out there; this place is getting a bit off-topic. 🙂
