Living with Asperger's Syndrome in Health ·
There’s actually a whole psychology thread dedicated to this. Here’s the link: Asperger's syndrome

It even includes a link to some kind of assessment if you want to check it out for yourself. 🙂
Why can't I call a troll a troll? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Brenda Collins3 said:Just realized. But you gotta admit, he’s a total troll 🙂

Not necessarily. 😉 It’s easy to think certain people don't actually exist, but unfortunately, there's plenty of them out there.

It's just easier to label someone a troll than to accept that people like that actually exist in real life.
Look, you can hit the gym all you want to build forearm strength, but don't hold your breath waiting for your wrists to get thicker. 🙂 I’ve got skinny wrists, plain and simple. Every bracelet I’ve ever bought, I’ve had to take to a jeweler just to size them down. And those high-end watches without the extra holes in the strap? Forget about it. They just slide right off. Believe me, I've tried both ends of the weight scale, but whether I'm gaining or losing, my wrist size stays exactly the same.
Sure, let her make the Papu and all those wipes too.

Brenda Barrett58 said:Is spotting actually a thing during ovulation?

Yeah. 🙂

I actually went to my OB-GYN once—had no clue I was even ovulating—and they told me right then and there that I was mid-cycle because they could see the blood. It happens to me every now and then.
Whatever. Most of those things aren't even supposed to be used while you're on your period anyway. Plus, since the uterine lining is shedding during menstruation, the symptoms usually don't hit as hard as they do during the rest of your cycle.

Canesten isn't just for fungus; it can also be used for certain bacteria, which means it can give you a false result. Generally, it’s recommended to wait at least two weeks after using anything—whether it's oral or topical—otherwise, you might end up with a false negative.
I honestly think she shouldn't apply anything right now. If she uses Canesten and starts applying creams before the OBGYN takes a swab, the results could come back false negative.

To me, this looks more like a bacterial infection. That isn't something that just clears up on its own, and creams aren't going to fix it either; she needs to see an OBGYN and get swabs done. If it were actually yeast, the discharge would be yellowish-white and clumpy, which would make using Canesten make sense. Otherwise, it's better to leave it alone—maybe use some calendula ointment or something similar externally just to stop the itching and irritation on the skin.
Kate Brooks2 Hey, just a heads-up—try not to write in all caps. On the internet, that's basically yelling, and the mods here will slap you with a warning card for it.
Katherine, type out the whole report.

Look, please stop nitpicking over posts like that. There’s a reason they get flagged and removed by the mods. 🙂
Thanks. 🙂
Hrvoje, I realized that was actually negative. I was just curious which specific value would have spiked if the test had come back positive. (I'm one of those people who needs to know every little detail, so if it ever does turn positive in the future, I want to be able to make sense of it myself right away.)
Thanks everyone for all the responses.🙂

Basically, I already had a pretty good idea about most of this because I’ve spent quite a bit of time digging through books and searching online. I know my doctors are essentially trying to figure out if this is just Sjogren's or if it's actually tied up with SLE (honestly, I'm praying it's just Sjogren's).

The only thing that really threw me off was the whole serum protein electrophoresis thing. I stumbled upon some stuff online mentioning non-Hodgkin lymphoma, and seeing that in relation to my results actually spooked me a little.

edit: one more quick question—what exactly constitutes a monoclonal protein? If that comes back positive, what would my results look like (I mean, besides gamma globulins, what else would be elevated)?
vividsailor7 said:For Lupus, you look at these markers: Anti-Sm, Anti-Sm/RNP, and Anti-histone. Those are also used for Sy. For Sjogren: Anti-SS-A/Ro and Anti-SS-B/La.
So, it could be Sy.Sjogren or SLE.
Some of the results are borderline high.
The immunologist gets the final say.
If anything else isn't clear, just ask.

I don't know why, but I've realized that histones are specific to Sjogren.

As for a Lupus diagnosis, I don't have one yet because my anti-dsDNA is normal, my LE cells are negative, and my lupus anticoagulant is normal. The only thing is I haven't had ANA antibodies checked yet, and those are usually elevated in most people with Lupus.

I forgot to mention that my CBC, ESR, CRP, and urine tests have always been fine so far (actually, my sedimentation was up by 20 units just last time, but that was right when my left elbow was super swollen, so I figure that was the reason).

Oh, and I also had a serum protein electrophoresis done recently, here are those results:

Total protein 94.9 g/l
A/G: 1.33

Albumin - 57.0% (58-70) 54.1 g/l (42-50)
Alpha 1 - 1.8% (1-2.8) 1.7 g/l (0.7-2)
Alpha 2 - 7.1% (7-12) 6.7 g/l (5-9)
Beta - 7.8% (9-14) 7.4 g/l (6-10)
Gamma - 26.3% (8-17) 25.0 g/l (6-12)

Comment: hypergammaglobulinemia

So, if you can explain what this means—this is basically the only part of the results I don't understand or know why they even ran it.
melloworca6 said:So, could it actually be lupus?

Regarding those symptoms from my undefined collagen disease, I’ve got swollen joints (especially the small ones in my fingers), dry eyes—basically zero tears, which led to a diagnosis of keratoconjunctivitis sicca—and a dry mouth, meaning no saliva...

Honestly, I don't think Sjogren is even on the table for me right now. My main concern is whether it could be lupus, because both Sjogren and Raynald, along with thyroid issues (they haven't confirmed Hashimoto yet, but there's suspicion since my anti-Tg is borderline), can all be linked back to lupus.

Anyway, let me repeat my post to Hrvoje. 😁

Like I mentioned—I’ve dropped 15kg and I’m eating as clean as possible. As far as iron goes, I don't think it's a diet issue. I've had blood work done over the last few years back home and my iron levels have never been anywhere near low. I actually just had blood drawn after my diet two months ago and everything looked fine. That's why I'm confused..

Oh, and you guys mentioned—can this cause hair loss?
Not to exaggerate, but I feel like I've lost at least 50% of my hair. 🙂

I'm missing half my hair, half my eyebrows, and two-thirds of my eyelashes too. 🙂 It's probably the thyroid.

Here’s my take on this.

Your thyroid hormones (ft3, ft4, tsh) look fine, but your thyroid antibodies (anti TPO) are elevated. High antibodies usually point toward an autoimmune thyroid condition—like Hashimoto's causing hypothyroidism or Graves' causing hyperthyroidism. In your case, it looks like it's still in the early stages since your hormone levels are still within the normal range.

That hair loss could definitely be linked to it. A lot of people start feeling the symptoms of thyroid issues long before the actual lab work shows anything out of the ordinary.
