Twisting someone's name is textbook trolling. It violates basic netiquette and has no place in decent online discourse.

Have you actually tested that?

I was just trying to set up Bill Gates to see if it worked. It didn't. I have one computer pulling down about 400 KB/s right now. On the other machine, I installed Bill Gates. I even set up a custom filter using the router's WAN MAC address and its internal IP. Still, Bill Gates only picked up the local traffic from that specific PC, completely ignoring the 400 KB/s download happening elsewhere.

Honestly, I don't even get the logic behind how that's supposed to work.

The problem is they actually want to do it. It’ll tank the server speed, which is already struggling as it is. They should just scrap it entirely and let everyone use Google Search instead...

Check the router settings. Look for something labeled "bandwidth monitor" in the options. You can see it in the left-hand menu on my screenshots here (click the images).

But if you're using one of those cheap routers provided by Comcast, I'm pretty sure it won't have that option. That’s why I dropped a few hundred bucks to buy a decent router for myself.

Again, that tool monitors a single PC, not a router. He has multiple devices connected to one router, so that software won't do him any good.

If you're looking to track data at the router level, the firmware actually has to support it. Most of these apps just measure usage on an individual PC. If your router's firmware doesn't have that feature, you're out of luck. Your only real option—assuming you even have that capability—is to set up a dedicated machine to act as a gateway and run the monitoring software from there.

Here is what my router's bandwidth monitor looks like (both monthly totals and real-time stats):

Because both words are under five characters. If you want to search this forum (especially for short terms), try doing it like this:

Exactly my point... Subscriptions?

Just go into your account settings and set it up so you automatically subscribe to every thread you start or reply to. Then you can just monitor them easily (Quick Links > Subscribed threads). Seriously, it's only two clicks away...

I can overlook the lag given how massive this forum is, but the lack of such a basic feature is incredibly irritating.
Hell, I can't even figure out how to bookmark this while I'm typing this reply.🤷

Seriously, is it really that hard to just click your own username on a post and then select "find more posts from ZeeTso"? 🤦

You clearly missed this. Here are three ways to do it:
1) Inside any thread, just click on a user's handle—in this case, yours. A menu pops up. Then you select "find more posts from Kevin Martin35".
2) Go directly to the user's profile (which is here). Hit "Statistics" and then choose "find all posts from Kevin Martin35".
3) Head over to the "Search" section and pick "advanced search". Use the "search by username" feature. Type the name and hit "search Now".

As for unread posts... they show up in bold on the forums. Just click that little arrow next to their name ().

Well, that’s a whole different issue. I don't think that's going to work, at least not with just one PC. If you have another machine, someone could connect via Remote Desktop (or something similar) to do their own thing. But this way? Not happening.

To start with, you can only have one mouse and one keyboard connected at the same time. Sure, you could plug in more, but you won't be able to separate them to act independently.

How could you not? You just fire up a browser on a virtual machine while handling the other stuff on your host. I don't see what the issue is.

I have no say in the matter, but these designations already exist. Moderators have black handles, smods are red, and admins are pink... then you have regular users in blue, banned accounts in gray, and sponsors in green.
