I put my money on Chris Bosh over the New York Knicks, mostly because the Miami Heat "eventually have to show up."😍

Just kidding. Here is the breakdown I am using to argue why this should be pretty close:

I mentioned earlier tonight that he had an excellent game. It was obvious that he and Carmelo Anthony aren't quite sure who should be handling the rock in those final minutes, but they’ll likely find their rhythm again as the game progresses. It's a shame they still have to face the Miami Heat shortly; that will be a massive test, even if they look decent against them on paper:

Jeremy Lin > Mario Chalmers (assuming Lin keeps this pace up, though there are hints of a slump coming, at least regarding his shooting percentages)
Amar'e Stoudemire and Chris Bosh (I am referring to how Bosh is playing right now—he is incredibly passive and honestly tedious to watch, so I am expecting Amar'e Stoudemire to step it up a bit)
Carmelo Anthony < LeBron James (The gap isn't huge, but you have to give the edge to LeBron James, for crying out loud)
Tyson Chandler >>> Carmelo Anthony (No discussion needed here)
Fields < Dwyane Wade (And by a wide margin)

Furthermore, the New York Knicks bench is just as solid. You have J.R. Smith, Danilo Gallinari, and Mychal Jeffries—who is proving to be an elite defender—all looking like top-tier Sixth Man candidates, plus Baron Davis, so Jeremy Lin doesn't necessarily have to play 100 minutes straight through the night.

Also, a 9.5 spread is a massive number. Even in blowout situations, the Miami Heat tend to keep things somewhat competitive; I recall Orlando leading by something like 20, only for the lead to shrink to 12 or so.

It's a shame Carmelo Anthony isn't on the Stat Sheet; I have a feeling he’s going to have a much better performance tonight.

Pau Gasol in his matchup against Chris Bosh caught my eye too. I assume Tyson Chandler will be guarding Bosh to make life difficult, especially since we all know Amar'e Stoudemire is a liability on defense. Gasol dropped 24 yesterday, so maybe he hits 18 today. That should be enough to outproduce Bosh, who has reclaimed his role as the primary playmaker since Dwyane Wade returned.

In the end, I played:

Orlando Magic
Chris Bosh over New York Knicks
Pau Gasol over Chris Bosh

As far as Jeremy Lin is concerned, it’s a great read.

The narrative surrounding Jeremy Lin being a "stopper" against the Miami Heat is gaining traction, and it’s worth a deep dive. People seem to forget how much defensive grit he actually brought to the court during those matchups. It wasn't just about his scoring or that sudden surge of popularity; it was about his ability to disrupt the rhythm of high-level guards. When you look at the tape, the way he pressured the ball and forced mistakes from players like Dwyane Wade was significant. He didn't just play alongside the stars; he actively worked to neutralize them. There's a specific kind of toughness required to face a lineup like Miami's, and Lin showed he could hold his own in that environment. It's one thing to be an offensive spark plug, but it's quite another to be the guy tasked with shutting down an elite scorer. He did both, and we shouldn't overlook that aspect of his game.

Goodnight, everyone 😍

It is an undeniable truth. The Oklahoma City Thunder and the Oklahoma City Thunder share remarkably similar patterns when it comes to blowing leads and losing games they should have secured.

Joe Johnson is definitely out. He even pulled out of the All-Star Game.

I find it strange that nobody is talking about the Knicks vs Hawks matchup. Atlanta is going to be playing without Joe Johnson, Al Horford, and likely Monta Ellis as well. Carmelo Anthony and Jeremy Lin have had two days to settle things between themselves, and they probably would have even taken down the Brooklyn Nets if Deron Williams hadn't completely shut them down with his tricks. At 1.50, I am definitely taking this one.

If only I had known ahead of time that we'd be seeing NBA news regarding the rest of Tim Duncan and Tony Parker. 🤣

A massive 40-point gap. 😢

Just for today:

San Antonio Spurs +4.5

Portland played a brutal game against the Los Angeles Lakers recently, and they just aren't finding their rhythm. They’ve been struggling lately, sitting at a 4-6 record over their last ten outings. On the other hand, you have an incredible San Antonio Spurs squad headed their way—they are riding a massive 11-game winning streak right now. Tony Parker has been playing lights out, essentially carrying the entire team on his shoulders.

I honestly expected the odds to be set differently here. When you look at a team that's clearly sliding versus one that is currently acting as one of the most dominant forces in the league, a 4.5 margin feels like an excellent value play.

Good luck to everyone tonight🙂.

Sean Sullivan87 said:Which sportsbook are you using? I placed an under 19.5 bet at Supersport.🙂

Call me a fool, but I’ve been rooting for Jeremy Lin to be the sixth man my entire life, only to have the NBA rules go and make him the sixth man anyway. 😵
That’s about all you need to know regarding me and my basketball expertise. 🤣

Supersport. I locked it in at 1.70 odds around 2:00 PM. 🤔

The moment I walked through my front door, I saw they had dropped the line to 19. It’s just my luck—some guy sinks a three in the final minute and ruins everything. 🤦

Man, Jeremy Lin just completely wrecked my parlay where I had five different legs winning. 🙂

🙂

He finished the game with 21 points but picked up 6 fouls.

Results:

Joe Johnson under
New Jersey Nets
Dwight Howard over
Allen over
Jeremy Lin under 21

darkgull11 said:Even with the bookmakers fixing things, thanks anyway... I've got 3 bucks left on those side bets... San Antonio 2, Clippers 2, and Lakers 1... what do you think?

Those first two look solid, but man, what is going on with the Los Angeles Lakers? That's their third one in three nights.

Sean Sullivan87 had all 5, I counted and it looks like he was just trolling with that one🙂

On another note, the Oklahoma City Thunder are getting absolutely hammered by injuries; they're going to be missing nearly half their roster tonight.

darkgull11 said:Did anyone catch the Chicago Bulls game just now to let me know how it actually wrapped up? I took the handicap at -9.5, but I'm getting conflicting info everywhere. One sportsbook is showing a 90-79 finish, while others are claiming it ended 90-82. Anyone have the official word?

They still ended up winning by 11.http://www.nba.com/games/20120220/AT...#nbaGIboxscore

Sean Sullivan87, it’s obvious that I’m celebrating the streak continuing rather than any injury. You were quite rude to edit my post like that.🙂

But he won't hit the over.

edit - actually, no, he won't.

Looks like a knee injury.

The single bet cleared. 👋

I would simply add my own thoughts to the mix...

Jeremy Lin over 19.5, under 1.85.
What an incredible player. Personally, I am just floored by him. The sheer guts that guy shows on the court is something else entirely.🙏 It feels like just when you think Carmelo Anthony is finished, he finds a way to claw his way back into the conversation. I have this nagging feeling that he’s going to push himself hard today, trying to prove everyone wrong. Honestly, it's a bit disappointing that he isn't even an option in the betting lines right now. If he were on the floor, the dynamic would shift. Plus, you can't forget about the presence of Amar'e Stoudemire and the rest of that lineup. 4. guyWell, look... lately, everything seems to be reading low for me. I mean, looking back at the last seven or eight games, almost every single one of them hit the over, except for that one outlier. Correct me if I'm wrong on that.

Dirk Nowitzki over 23.5 at 1.85.
It feels to me like he’s finally finding his rhythm again. He’s returning to form. Some nights, he just looks unstoppable.🤷He’s putting up 30 plus. It’s entirely possible he does the same thing again tonight...

The odds are sitting at 6.33.

You got that wrong, J.R. Smith. 🙂

Saving Tracy McGrady; because of him, Joe Johnson won't be stepping in 😍
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
My goodness, Joe Johnson's scoring explosion during the third quarter was absolutely unreal. 🤣
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
I personally took him at under 21—it actually dropped to 19 just five minutes later. Yesterday, he put in 41 minutes. He’s being guarded by Deron Williams, who definitely has the height advantage here, plus Carmelo Anthony is back in the mix. Honestly, someone has to step up and shut him down eventually.🤣
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
Joe Johnson knocked down 6 two-pointers, while Luol Deng was just lurking in the corner somewhere.☕
NBA Betting: Vol. 2 in Betting Forum ·
Joe Johnson has been struggling significantly, averaging only 13.6 points through those 11 losses while shooting a meager 38.9 percent. He's averaged 13.5 points against the Bulls this season, shooting 3 of 17 in the loss AT Chicago.

Less than 18.5 @ 1.85

Too much for today. 🙂
