Kudos to the Clippers 👍

That’s why you’ll be heading home earlier. 🙂

If anyone's interested, keep an eye out for today's offer once the Spurs post it. 🙂

LA Clippers vs Memphis Grizzlies
Pick: LA Clippers -3.5

Odds: 1.952

Bookmaker: Pinnacle

Confidence: 4/10

The Clippers had a rough one last night—a heated city derby against the LA Lakers that ended in a loss, despite plenty of tension and incidents on the court. Today they host Memphis, a team struggling on the road (4-5), while the Clippers have been dominant at home (8-2).
Having Chris Paul back is huge for Los Angeles; he’s easily one of the best floor generals and steal specialists in the league. He only logged 26 minutes last night, so he shouldn't be feeling too much fatigue. Even with yesterday's game, the Clippers should be well-rested given their three days of rest—meanwhile, the Grizzlies have played three games in just five days. Memphis is strong in the paint, but they tend to score about 12 fewer points in the interior when playing away compared to their home games. That’s where the Clippers hold the edge—with Blake Griffin and Jordan providing plenty of rim protection and blocks.
Memphis has been playing without their main man Zach Randolph and the athletic Jerome Arthur for a while now, so they're used to that rotation, but the Clippers are finally at full strength. When they're complete, their depth is intimidating. You've got Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, Jimmy Butler, Marvin Williams, and Chauncey Billups—players who can all drop 15-20 points on any given night. Toss in Jordan and Glen Taylor, and the Clippers don't need to sweat it if one of the starters has an off night.
Memphis has a decent starting five, but the Clippers' lineup is superior. Similarly, while the Grizzlies' bench is solid, the Clippers possess more depth and better options coming off the pine.

Confirmed:

Rajon Rondo
- (right wrist) is out for tonight's matchup against the Orlando Magic; Doc Rivers news suggests Avery Bradley will likely step into the starting lineup instead. Ray Allen (left ankle) didn't travel with the team, though Rivers mentioned a potential return tomorrow for the home game against the Indiana Pacers.

Mickael Pietrus (shoulder) is slated to start tonight in place of Allen, while Keyon Dooling (right knee) and Chris Wilcox (left calf) should both return to the Boston Celtics rotation. Jermaine O'Neal (left knee) is doubtful, but there's a chance he returns tomorrow night against the Pacers as well.

The only downside is that I didn't catch wind of him until he was already sitting at 16-0—but there's no sense in nitpicking now.

I haven't been following that guy closely—but I recently read somewhere that he’s a total fraud. Apparently, he only leaves up the winning picks and wipes everything else—including the comments on this forum—to hide the truth.

The Houston Rockets were hanging in there at 64-54 last night before getting blown out 70-86 in just a few minutes. 🤦

The Milwaukee Bucks are sitting at 32-6 now. 🙄

And they did it practically without Andrew Bogut. 🙂

Well, at least the Portland Trail Blazers lost ( 😢 ), so my day is almost back to even.

Anyway, some pretty wild scores across the league last night...

Bradley Kern6 said:Utah (h-17.5) vs Toronto
Isn't this a bit excessive? With Andrea Bargnani back, Toronto secured an immediate win—it's not like Utah is a squad that systematically dismantles opponents. They'd likely struggle to hit even 100 points against Sacramento, either. That said, scoring over 100 against Denver is a tall order. They haven't cleared the 100-point mark in their last 10 games, and their top guy, Marcus Thornton, is also up in the air.

Denver allows exactly 100.00 points on average. Only two teams in the league give up more.

My take—no.

The New York Knicks are shaky right now—struggling on both ends of the floor. Sure, the Cleveland Cavaliers haven't looked great lately either, but I just don't trust the Knicks.

Golden State vs Portland Trail Blazers
Pick: Golden State -3.5

Odds: 1.962

Bookmaker: Pinnacle

Confidence: 5/10

The Trail Blazers are facing their third game in three days—a classic back-to-back-to-back stretch. They picked up wins in their first two home games, but now they’re heading onto the road to face the Warriors, a team that has dominated them at home, winning 10 of their last 11 matchups. Portland tends to struggle on the road when playing on zero rest; they’re sitting at a dismal 1-4 in those specific scenarios this season. That said, they actually played in both previous days leading up to this one. They cruised past the Memphis Grizzlies last night, but it came at a cost—every single starter logged over 30 minutes.
It's obvious Portland has more raw talent than Golden State, but let’s not forget how the Phoenix Suns looked on a back-to-back recently—a brutal 25-point blowout loss.

I initially considered a heavier mid-range play here, but I changed my mind for two reasons. First, Golden State is struggling, coming off three straight losses and an ugly 0-6 stretch against West opponents. Second—and this is purely personal—I just can't bring myself to bet against the team I root for.😁

The reality is that Golden State is much fresher; they’ve only played twice in the last six days. They’re at home, where they have a long history of handling the Trail Blazers. Monta Ellis has been in incredible form lately, averaging a massive 32.3 points over his last four outings against Portland. Plus, having Stephen Curry back in the rotation changes everything—he always seems to find his rhythm against this squad. On the flip side, LaMarcus Aldridge has been underwhelming in his last seven trips to face the Warriors, averaging just 13.9 points with poor shooting splits.
Furthermore, Portland is significantly less efficient on the road, scoring about 13 fewer points per game than they do at home. That’s a substantial gap.

I expect big performances from Ellis and Curry—Wesley Matthews and especially Nelson Felton aren't going to have an easy time containing them. Other matchups should be competitive. Ben Wallace dealt with some minor finger issues last night, but he should still be able to dominate Chuck Wright on both ends of the floor. Aldridge holds a clear defensive edge over Chris Lee, though the advantage in the offensive department is narrower.

Ultimately, this pick rests on Portland's fatigue, their struggles in these specific scheduling spots, and the Warriors' consistent ability to protect their home court against the Trail Blazers.

Houston Rockets vs Milwaukee Bucks
Pick: Houston Rockets -4.5

Odds: 1.99

Bookmaker: Pinnacle

Confidence: 6/10

Both teams currently sit at 9th in their respective conferences—the Rockets at 10-7 and the Milwaukee Bucks at 6-10. Both squads are heavily reliant on home court; their road records are lackluster, particularly for Milwaukee, who sits at 2-8 away from home. Houston is dominant at home with a 7-1 record. They routinely drop nearly 100 points per game in their arena (99.6), whereas Milwaukee struggles significantly on the road, averaging just 88.2 points—an 11-point dip from their home production. Furthermore, Houston is riding a hot streak, having won seven straight. They should be better rested than the Milwaukee Bucks, who had one day of rest but were forced to play three games in the last four days prior to that. The Rockets' primary scorer, Kevin Martin, is in peak form, consistently clearing 20 points, with solid support coming from Luis Scola and Kyle Lowry. I expect that trend to continue against a mediocre Milwaukee defense. While the Milwaukee Bucks have recently taken down the Miami Heat and New York Knicks—mostly fueled by Monta Ellis—he is notoriously inconsistent, making a poor performance tonight entirely plausible. Andrew Bogut is effective when healthy, which he is, and serves as their primary defensive asset. That might be the only real advantage Milwaukee holds over Houston tonight (though Samuel Dalembert isn't bad defensively either, Bogut offers more offensive presence). It’ll be an interesting matchup, aside from perhaps a negligible edge on the bench, where both sides are essentially equal.

Here is a telling statistic: since moving into their current arena in 2003, Houston has played nine games against Milwaukee and won all nine—often quite convincingly. Milwaukee remains the only NBA team to have never secured a win in this building. Let's hope history repeats itself today...
Even before the move, Houston held the upper hand; their last home loss against Milwaukee dates back to 1999. 😲

Everything points toward a Houston victory. The spread isn't set too high, so I'm taking it.

It looks like everyone’s been chasing player props lately—hardly anyone is betting on the actual games anymore.

Trying to nail those player lines is a gamble in itself. You can never be sure if they’re going to go nuclear or completely disappear—maybe they pick up an early injury, maybe their shot isn't falling, or maybe a teammate catches fire and eats up all the usage. There’s always the risk they get stuck in foul trouble and see their minutes vanish entirely...

To me, there are just too many moving parts to make a reliable bet. 🤷

I also notice that almost every single night, people on this forum are tearing certain players to shreds.
In my opinion, you can get a much better read by analyzing the overall game flow and team dynamics instead.

But hey, that's just my experience speaking—not sure how the rest of you see it.

Portland vs. Memphis
Pick: Portland -5.5

Odds: 1.971

Sportsbook: Pinnacle

Stake: 4/10

Checking in on our handball guys—quick update here:

Both teams played last night and both walked away with wins. Portland handled business easily; Memphis barely scraped by. That meant the Portland starters got some decent rest—Aldridge only saw 28 minutes, Camby just 2, while only Wallace and Felton pushed past the 30-minute mark. That kind of recovery matters when you're dealing with back-to-backs. Memphis, however, had four of their five starters logging over 36 minutes—with Gay playing nearly the whole game at 44 minutes. They aren't exactly fresh for today.
Portland has struggled on the second night of back-to-backs this season, sitting at 1-4, but most of those losses came on the road—and we know Portland is a powerhouse at home.
Memphis runs a thin rotation of just six players. They’re strong in the paint, but they tend to struggle on the road, averaging about 12 fewer points in the paint away from home compared to their home games (52 vs 40).
Portland is dominant at home right now, boasting a 7-1 record at the Rose Garden, which has been packed for a long stretch. They rank third in the league in home scoring with 104.2 points per game, whereas Memphis averages a meager 85.6 on the road—nearly 20 points less than their home average, ranking them 26th out of 30 teams in that category.
With a deeper bench, home-court advantage, and the motivation to snap a poor road stretch, I expect Portland to break Memphis's seven-game winning streak. Portland took two out of three matchups against them last year.

Nicholas Chase34 said:Avoid Portland today—they’re struggling hard on back-to-backs (the Trail Blazers are 0-4 against the spread in their last four games with zero days of rest). 🤷 You saw the fatigue set in during that Detroit game.

True—I was just about to point out how poorly the Blazers handle back-to-backs. They’re sitting at 1-4 in those situations this season, and three of those four losses came on the road. We know Portland is a different beast at home, whereas they play like a mediocre .500 team when traveling.
They’re playing in their own arena tonight. Aldridge and Camby have seen limited minutes over the last two outings; Aldridge should be rested, and his backup, Craig Smith, has been playing solid ball lately. Plus, Crawford and Matthews are finally finding their rhythm from deep, and Wallace is back in the rotation. Combine that with the home-court advantage at the Rose Garden, and I’m leaning toward a Portland win. 🤷

After last game, Carmelo mentioned he’s planning to sit down with the guys—he feels like he might be hogging too many shots and realizes passing the ball more could benefit the flow. He took full responsibility for the recent slump, so we can at least expect a less selfish performance from him tonight.

Can someone please copy/paste the offer?

Dallas pulled off a six-point win—but let’s be clear—they held a comfortable double-digit lead for basically the entire second half. 😁

Dallas vs. Phoenix
Pick: Dallas -5.5

Odds: 1.952

Stake: 8/10

Dallas is missing both Dirk and Vince Carter tonight—a significant hit on paper. However, Carter has been on a steep decline over the last two seasons; he’s struggling this year, and honestly, it might be better for the Mavs that he sits. Delonte West and the speedy Beaubois can cover his minutes effectively. In the starting lineup, Dirk will be replaced by last year's Sixth Man of the Year, Lamar Odom, who hasn't quite found his rhythm in Dallas after that messy exit from the Lakers. That said, he filled in for Dirk last game and performed well—16 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assists. He also historically feasts on the Suns; last season, he averaged 19.5 points against them, including massive 29-point outings, while pulling down an average of 10.5 boards. He even dropped 15 points in just 22 minutes during their first matchup this season. He should hold his own. Jason Terry is in a bit of a shooting slump, but he’ll start—he's too high-caliber for this to last long. As for the Suns, they are the perfect kind of opponent for a team looking to snap a losing streak. We’ll see a veteran showdown between Jason Kidd and Steve Nash—should be interesting. On the defensive end, Shawn Marion should stifle Grant Hill and likely dominate him offensively as well. The Suns' only real edge is at center, where Marcin Gortat is a step above Haywood and Mahinmi. But Dallas boasts a top-tier defense—currently third in the league, allowing only 88.4 points per game—and they tend to play even more aggressively at home. They should give Phoenix real trouble. The Dallas bench is undeniably superior to Phoenix's, both in depth and talent. Plus, playing at home provides a massive boost. The squad is motivated to extend their winning streak to two games and improve their record (10-7, 7th in the West). The Western Conference is incredibly tight right now; teams are fighting tooth and nail for playoff spots, and the Mavs simply cannot afford to drop games like this—with or without Dirk.
Phoenix is a subpar squad. They play poorly, possess very little quality beyond Nash and Gortat, and have a bench that is currently out of form.
Dallas has won 9 of the last 10 meetings played in Dallas, usually by double digits. Last year, they swept all four matchups against Phoenix convincingly—winning by 15 and 25 at home, and 6 and 8 on the road.
Earlier this season, Dallas took the single meeting between them by 9 points (98-89). They actually led by 21 with seven minutes left, but they coasted, brought in the reserves, and ended up with "only" a 9-point margin. After those initial stumbles against Miami and Denver, Dallas has been dominant at home, riding a six-game home winning streak. I expect that streak to continue tonight.

This spread feels far too low. Phoenix is essentially Dallas's favorite victim; Dallas is much deeper, they're playing at home, they're on a six-game home win streak, and Phoenix is one of the weaker teams in the league. To make matters worse for the Suns, they play Toronto tomorrow—a game they really need to focus on. I'm convinced this spread would be significantly higher if Dirk were playing, but I believe they'll handle business easily even without him. Going with a high stake here.

Rondo and Allen will likely suit up today.
