I want a permanent ban in Feedback & Suggestions ·
amberangler99 said:The whole thing just proves something is broken when people are begging for permanent bans instead of just being banned. If people actually stopped showing up, nobody would even care. At least this way, they make it known they're leaving because they can't handle it. Now, reading some of these appeals, I actually feel bad when someone gets a permanent ban, since they didn't exactly "murder a forum member" to deserve it.
I also don't get why the rules aren't applied equally to everyone. I have zero issues when I get flagged for off-topic posts, chatting, or insults,
but it feels cheap when I get penalized for off-topic stuff or spamming, only to see endless cases where people chat or spam constantly and nothing happens—their posts stay up just fine.🤷

You are still quite new to this forum, and to put it briefly: either adapt to the culture, or move on from the community entirely... 😍
Why is hate speech against Muslims being tolerated? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
feralpilot0 said:You linked back to the Politics/World section, yet you seem to be discussing Religion.

My focus is on racism and hate speech, which I encounter frequently in the Religion section, and I am providing a recent example from Politics/World... unless, of course, hate speech and racism directed at Muslims is permitted there (at least by your estimation). I certainly haven't seen anything to suggest such behavior is allowed in the Rules, so if it is indeed tolerated—given that no one seems to react or issue sanctions—I would request that you clearly state in the Rules exactly what kind of conduct is expected when a user registers for this forum...
Isn't this clearly incitement and hate speech? in Feedback & Suggestions ·
hollowtrucker77 said:First, I would like to apologize for my delayed response...
Secondly, in my estimation, the post is perfectly acceptable; it serves merely as an observation on how the erosion of fundamental liberties inevitably leads to conflict...
I certainly did not perceive any threat directed toward Muslims within those words, particularly since even certain tenets within Christianity have become somewhat antiquated by modern standards...
As I interpret it, the post addresses universal values...

With all due respect to the forum administration—and citing both my current grievance and links to previous complaints regarding similar topics such as this one and this one—I am reaching out to the forum owners. I am not writing this to intimidate anyone (there is no need to remind me that I am free to file a formal complaint), but rather to make my position known publicly so that I am not perceived as someone complaining behind people's backs. Nor am I writing this under the assumption that it will certainly effect change, but rather to fulfill my own sense of civic duty...

All things considered, I would feel remiss if I were to silently overlook the typical anti-theistic rhetorical inquisitions being conducted within the religion subforums against institutional faiths (primarily, though not exclusively, Islam), especially when such rhetoric receives tacit approval or overt support from the administration...

To be clear, I am not suggesting that the forum as a whole is lacking—I rarely visit other subforums—but I am simply offering a critique of this specific, and in my view, inconsequential segment of an otherwise solid community...

Thank you for the response, regardless of the delay...🙂

Chris Peterson53 said:The moderators aren't obligated to notify every single author when their posts are erased, nor do they have the time to do so.
Whether a post should be removed depends entirely upon our own internal guidelines, rather than the subjective judgment of the individual author.
Deciding whether to issue a warning is also at their discretion.
As for your persistent argument—this attempt to pressure the administration into changing rules so that deleted posts remain visible—that is not within the moderators' jurisdiction. Such a proposal can only be addressed by the forum leadership. Attempting to exert pressure on the moderators is nothing more than an obstruction of their duties.
Attempting to dictate moderation policy instead of following the established roles... well, the intention there is quite obvious.

While it is true that the mods don't have any obligation or the capacity to handle everything, that doesn't serve as a valid excuse for treating forum users inhumanely, though I shall address that matter separately in a dedicated thread at another time. ☕

Now, looking back at your post, given the translation you provided here.
Considering your stance that only officially registered religions are legitimate, while all others are merely cults (as you stated in a different thread), this deleted post wasn't just off-topic; it was overtly condescending and insulting toward believers who belong to non-registered groups—regardless of how much that matters to you—because you referred to them as mercenaries, implying they are essentially being paid to post on this forum.

If we are adhering to the law, then we follow the law. What exactly are you looking for, an emotional approach to everything? 😍
So now I am being judged for labeling unregistered religious attempts as cults, yet they show no respect for us by forcing us to conform to their specific demands—so where is my freedom of religious expression if I must constantly fear someone telling me what I need or must change? 😲

And I did not label every cult member a mercenary; I specifically offered a greeting only to those who might actually be working on a contract, so let's not be dishonest 👎 and return to my original quote:

and greetings to the cultists, especially the mercenary ones.

Chris Peterson53 said:It is remarkably easy to create a misunderstanding between what an author truly intended and how their words are interpreted; it is quite evident from your interpretation right here in this thread, where you accuse and call out others for hate speech and incitement....
And yet, the three of us moderators did not reach such a conclusion...

It is quite evident how beautifully the three of you perform your duties here; it seems my introductory post is destined to be erased, while someone else's hate speech and incitement to violence remains untouched—truly marvelous...🙄

Chris Peterson53 said:Let us leave the former moderator alone, and your disagreement with him is not the issue here (though in this specific instance, his expertise is certainly lacking)... I am glad you have come forward, because as a moderator myself, I also wish for certain matters to be clarified.
You wrote those two deleted posts in the thread regarding the Tekoa, if I am interpreting correctly as a meeting place for Muslim forum members.
However, the facts remain:

The topic exists within a PDF where there are no religious or national enclaves.Every member has access to it and can contribute to the same discussion.
This is an American forum, and its official language is English, though related dialects are understood by all.
Yet, as you have done in your deleted posts—and as a significant portion of other Muslims do—you utilize Arabic and Turkish loanwords that are unintelligible to the vast majority of other forum members (not including your religious greetings).
Your posts become incomprehensible to members who lack knowledge of the aforementioned terms.
In doing so, you—which I personally believe is intentional—are excluding people from the Tekoa, whereas Shady proved that one can write in a way that remains understandable to everyone wishing to participate in the Tekoa by simply using translations next to the words.
And I personally feel that the basic culture of international, religious, and personal communication requires that you Muslims behave accordingly... (and this is by no means intolerance toward Muslims, so I ask that you do not accidentally imply such a thing to me).

If my interpretation is incorrect, then the administration (my superiors) will correct me, and your posts will be brought back into the light; I would even offer you a public apology.
Since a link to the deleted post is not possible, here is the transcription:

-Special greetings to the community and greetings to the sectarians, especially the honorary ones (smiley face)
-Of course, hello to hellos and cash for the cash (smiley face)

Now I ask everyone who does not live in an area where these loanwords are common, how do you interpret this?
As I understand it, this is off-topic.

- First of all, deleting is not right; you could have issued a yellow card and explained the reasoning (deleting without a trace, explanation, or notice is everything but what you claim to stand for when you speak of the "basic culture of international, religious, and personal communication").

- And then, a secondary point, though not unimportant at all: regarding the explanation about using unknown words: "special greeting" is a very common greeting, "community" is a well-known term, "hello" is an even more well-known greeting, and "cash" is money... I suppose I am just as confused.
But what is more important than these "allegedly" unclear words is that the Tekoa itself was intended to be a somewhat internal topic. If you are proceeding from a standpoint of ambiguity, then you should have provided a translation next to the word Tekoa immediately, because I guarantee you that, say, in the rural Midwest where there are almost no dervishes, 80% of American Muslims would have no idea what a Tekoa is😲, and a very similar situation exists elsewhere.
Therefore, the title of the thread itself is unknown—you did not translate it, nor did you emphasize it in the opening post, yet we have used many larger loanwords before and they were not deleted...

Gregory Turner71 said:I find myself in agreement with blue bird... it seems this particular passage has been entirely stripped of its context. The entirety of the post does not serve to incite violence or issue threats, but rather functions as the exact opposite...

I am requesting that the administration carefully review the post and provide a formal determination as to whether this constitutes hate speech or a threat toward those who wear hijabs during wartime or otherwise.

Tell us exactly how much any woman would actually enjoy that, or why the moderators would ever need to step in regarding such things. These women aren't wearing headscarves simply because it's their personal fashion choice...

5) It is strictly prohibited to deliberately present unverified or false information as if it were factual and proven.

They wear the hijab because they want to live as practicing Muslims, and that is what Muslim women do...

Where exactly do you get the authority to spread misinformation about the intentions of women who choose to wear the hijab? 🙄

hollowtrucker77 said:Jason Clark7, then a man comes along and says, "I lost my thread..."
The administrator or moderator ought to utilize their psychological intuition to discern which topics are unfolding, precisely when they occur, and where...
If everyone were permitted to post whatever they wanted, wherever they pleased, then there would be absolutely no need for moderators at all...
No, if you would just take a moment to examine the unmoderated forums, it would become instantly apparent that they truly are...

We certainly require moderators, just as we require these forums even more; they enhance our experience in many positive ways, yet the core issue remains that moderators ought to be treated with a level of respect that honors our very attempt to gather here and grow together...

The fact that you all struggle to locate erased content only reinforces my suggestion... we should establish a dedicated "Trash" (or "Archived") thread where we can provide direct links whenever we submit an appeal...

And so they have arrived on the Tekoa thread... Erased... Two introductory posts, which I was required to follow... Twenty-four hours of silence... I find myself having to ask once again, yet even today, I still cannot quite grasp the meaning... Why... And once again, it turns out they were supposedly "off." To be honest, I stepped away from this forum for three or four months because of how Shady handles his bans and strikes. It is my custom that when I return, I stop by Tekoa to say hello, which is perfectly normal behavior in real life... yet my first interaction after such a long absence results in being erased... And now, during this latest session regarding Shady's improper moderation, there is a constant demand for evidence, even though that very evidence vanishes whenever a moderator decides to erase...

I am writing all of this solely in the hope that this forum can become a dignified space for our online community... I truly hold no personal animosity toward anyone here...

I am filing a formal protest regarding certain posts by Brezovke, specifically concerning passages that imply Muslims face threats of war and bloodshed because of the hijab and similar religious practices. I have no intention of engaging in a debate—nor am I personally attacking the individual—regarding whether Brezovke is a well-meaning forum member or what her true intentions may be; however, good intentions do not guarantee accuracy, and the end does not justify the means. Consequently, this post serves primarily as a critique of the moderators, to whom I previously submitted a report that went unaddressed, and I now request that they provide an explanation as to why they determined that these quotes constitute legitimate forum content:

If you burden us with nothing but material concerns, even down to wearing a headscarf, we will go to war.
For that blood, those who committed injustice against others in the name of faith and in the name of God shall be held responsible.
They were laying the foundation for new bloodshed.

Later on, within the text itself, I responded and used red lettering to highlight the contentious portion

Therefore, I ask our moderators to find the appropriate time to explain this section, which I find highly objectionable.

I am grateful in advance for the time and effort invested in this matter.

P.S.

Regarding this protest, the PDF moderators have already stated that they see nothing wrong with the content.

Thus, I politely request that the administrators also weigh in here...

Thank you in advance...

And why wouldn't there be a designated trash bin for discarded posts, serving as tangible evidence when one needs to file a formal appeal against a moderator? I mean, if we are being asked to provide proof and logical arguments when contesting a moderator's decision... if that isn't the case, and if we are expected to assume that moderators are infallible, then there truly is no point in asking us for arguments at all...
Let's talk about erasing things in Feedback & Suggestions ·
And while we are on the subject of erasing content, I intend to draft a comprehensive thread regarding this matter once my schedule permits, but for now, I will simply note that such deletions occur with alarming frequency and intention, effectively scrubbing any evidence of moderator misconduct against us regular users. And then, quite predictably, when one approaches the administrator to report a moderator's behavior, the administrator demands that we provide proof...😲
Finally, I wanted to say a quick goodbye to you all! (moved) in Feedback & Suggestions ·
Why must there always be winners and losers? Why can't we find a bit more middle ground through compromise? I have had my own disagreements with Eminem and the rest of the management team, and in certain instances, I find their positions entirely understandable, but one must study history to realize how many unjust regimes have existed; do you truly believe the leadership on this forum would be any different?
I have already stated this once before: this digital world serves as the ultimate proof of human injustice. I am not particularly surprised by actual world leaders, but here, people act out of pure spite over trivial matters—essentially just trying to fill their own internal voids of identity through unfairness and baseless superiority... 😢

My advice to you is to become a winner through compromise and simply remain 👍
