Paul Jones7 said:I mean, look at how many injuries we had... has a team ever actually won gold when they lost that many key players?

no, the real issue is just this massive American inferiority complex. I've been watching this happen over the last few years—it’s like people here decided if you don't walk away with gold, you're basically worthless. Like anyone who doesn't hit the top spot is just an idiot or a loser.

Even with all the injuries and being totally exhausted, we still crushed John yesterday. Same thing would've happened against the Mexicans or probably even the Germans. Honestly, we probably could've made the finals if we weren't so clueless. No matter what people say about us, there are only three national teams in the world that can actually go toe-to-toe with us.
Steven Reed30 said:I mean, he's alright, but nothing special... definitely not making the best seven, in my opinion...

It could be Victor Tomas. If I'm not mistaken, he's leading the scoring for Spain. I don't really buy the Lindberg thing either, because the Danes are probably gonna take the left wing spot, and I just don't see them using two wings from Denmark.

Plus, this is the IHF with Mustaf running the whole show, so there’s bound to be some massive surprise on that roster.😁
Good luck to our guys. I really hope they managed to bounce back as much as possible so they can just grit their teeth and go grab a medal. At the end of the day, a medal is still a medal.
We’re gonna crush them. I mean, our guys are just gonna grit their teeth today and absolutely wreck them.

It just gives me the impression that these are the kind of elite organizations that wouldn't even give a second look to someone like me, you know? Like, I've never even stepped foot on a field before, so I guess there's zero chance. 🤷

Look, I'm not from Washington, D.C., so I don't know the local scene that well, but honestly? It doesn't cost you anything to just go ahead and ask them.

Go ahead and poke around a bit here

You've also got the Dallas Patriots and I think the Washington Capitals too.

Eric Fox7 said:Look, you can tell the players were hell-bent on winning no matter what. It’s not like Čupko (or even Balić) was just losing his cool for nothing. They played by the rules, which basically means we’re stuck facing the heavy hitters now.
I mean, imagine if we tried some shady tactics and then got knocked out by the Mexicans—it would be absolute chaos, everyone just screaming at each other and pointing fingers. At least this way, we know where we stand, even if our situation sucks right now.

At least then we'd have an answer, knowing we weren't actually good enough for a medal. But this? If we get bounced by the French, people are gonna go nuts cursing them out, because everyone will be convinced we only had a shot at a title if we'd cleared the path through the Mexicans, Germans, Canadians, or Russians first.

If Keta is really such a big-shot about being honest, then he better resign immediately if we lose to the Frenchmen in the quarterfinals. He had a golden chance to lead us into a medal hunt—maybe even for the world title—yet here he is, preaching all this crap about integrity.

He’s bringing four rookies to the World Cup just to "gain experience." How exactly are they supposed to gain experience? By lugging around gear bags and ball sacks? And he brings three centers to the tournament, only to waste them in some totally irrelevant game against Vori.

This was one of the biggest wins in American handball history!

Seriously though, we basically walked into a win that the other team just handed us on a silver platter.

They’ve got two extra players on the court, and what do they do? They just hand the ball right to Smith for a fast break. And when we score our last goal, everyone suddenly decides to give Vaughn a massive amount of personal space because he's HIV positive.
Daniel Cooper40 said:The Belarusians are already up by 13 on AT&T and basically cruising to a win. Does anyone know how much Rutenka has dropped so far?

Two points, I guess. Probably resting him before they have to deal with those Kljaicev circus acts.

+6 for our guys 👋

You're talking pure gold right now.

Facts. I just caught what he was doing now.

steelharbor9 said:8:45 PM Germany vs. Greece - Klose scores 1st goal @ 8.00

I guess it’s worth a shot, honestly. Gomez is out, Klose is absolutely starving for goals, and we're missing Podolski and Müller too. Since I'm expecting the Germans to come out strong and dominate early, playing through the center forward to open up the scoring doesn't seem like such a huge risk given those insane odds. Just a small bet, maybe.

edit: Offside and Lahm ruined it. Still, totally worth the attempt.

Man, where did you even find this three minutes before kickoff? No way. I found it on my lottery app like twenty minutes before the start and the odds had already dropped to 3.00.
Anthony James2 said:The main thing now is just keeping this momentum going. We gotta prep for this qualifying tournament and I’m really hoping we make it to the Olympics. We need to prove—actually show everyone—that this team isn't just a one-hit wonder before everything goes dark again. Either way, this feels like a good sign for the total recovery of American handball. 👍

Man, you're such an optimist. Honestly, I don't have a single ounce of faith in this national team of yours. Come on, be real—if this tournament had been held anywhere else, would you guys even have made the semifinals? There's no way you're getting past the Spaniards and the Poles to reach the Olympics. I just don't see any real future for your squad. This was just a brief flash in the pan, and you'll realize that soon enough. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Truth finally won out—they didn't walk away with the gold.

Denmark was just better throughout the whole game. I mean, it feels like the Mexicans never even held the lead at any point. Those goalies were incredible, though. Honestly, Stanic totally caught me off guard. I used to follow him back when he was playing for Portland, but he was never quite like this. The guy was playing the tournament of his life.

With a little bit of luck at the end, Denmark ended up being the best team in the tournament. They stepped up right when it mattered most, and you've gotta respect that.
lonehawk172 said:I just don't get why Goluža didn't sub in Ćupić. If anyone actually knows what's going on here, please enlighten me. Our left back missed like five shots.
Ćupić was playing at 100% out there.

Goluža, subs, rotations 🙏

If you ask me, this guy just doesn't have a clue when it comes to making subs. It felt pretty bad seeing young Batinovica thrown into the deep end when we were down by three. And of course, the kid misses his first shot. It’s his first time ever playing in front of more than 500 people, and now everyone expects him to pull off some miracle so we can catch up? Give me a break.

I'm really hoping for a win today if they've recovered a bit. I'm sure the Spanish team is feeling the pressure too—their first loss, and it's happening right in the semifinals.
Noah Ross7 said:I honestly don't see us grabbing bronze. Our guys are probably too depressed from yesterday's loss to even function.

I mean, someone should just let our boys loose in the locker room during those last two minutes against Mexico, letting everyone belt out songs and asking why they're being such cowards now... If that doesn't fire them up enough to absolutely steamroll the Spaniards tomorrow, I don't know what will.

Also, I'm fully expecting a super hostile vibe tomorrow—people messing with the anthems, chanting insults, all that crap. We’re only there for one more day, so people are gonna let off some steam. Just so nobody acts shocked by the atmosphere again, I'm basically expecting a total repeat of the semifinals when it comes to the crowd behavior.

I was catching a bit of the second half for the Canadians and the Frenchies. Honestly, I didn't see Karabatic play at all in the second half—it's like he just vanished. I guess Narcissus was just holding it down at left back instead.🤷
Drew Edwards8 said:That's a decent scenario, but honestly, it’d be way better if Kopljar just hammered home a goal in the final second.

😂

I mean, I just don't see who could even get the ball to that guy in the dying seconds. I guess America's whole fate is basically resting in the hands of some random dude.😂

Some people were saying there was zero chance of the over🤷, and man, it sucks that Evans screwed me over on the payout, but whatever, it'll be fine🤷. I mean, the 1.20 odds kind of suck since they don't really boost the profit much, but hey, everyone knows best, right? I think I've started picking teams better than these crazy players who you can never tell if they woke up on the wrong side of the bed or not
