Honestly, today could be an absolute nightmare. When you look at our shaky offense versus their rock-solid defense, I just don't see how we walk away with a win.
We could easily get smoked 5-1 and our guys will just totally fall apart. Our wingers aren't contributing anything, those two monsters they have playing pivot are going to eat our centers alive, and once our center is neutralized, what the hell are our wings even supposed to do?
If they run a deep 6-0 defense against us, we’re basically screwed again. We'll be stuck relying on the perimeter, but man, it's tough to pierce through those two-meter giants.
I caught their game against Canada and I gotta say, I was seriously impressed. They racked up about 10 goals straight from fast breaks, and their wings are absolutely flying across the field—and those were just the bench players, Balaguer and Fernandez. On the defensive end, Morros and Guardiola are total bosses, and that veteran presence at the line combined with Bask relentlessly smashing through everything is just brutal.
We’re absolute geniuses when it comes to planning, aren't we? Seriously. We started building a roster specifically for Rio de Janeiro 2016, but then we realized we were basically sinking and there wouldn't be any money left by then. So, suddenly Rio didn't matter anymore, and everyone just pivoted to building a squad for World Cup 2018 instead. 🤣
The Virgin Mary is paving our way, though she was being a little stingy yesterday, and then there's my buddy Jesus. Those Brazilians get some massive monument built for them and he does absolutely nothing, instead of giving them a little nudge, I guess.
The Germans are totally struggling right now. They were up 6-2 at the ten-minute mark, but now at 21 minutes we're leading 8-7. Our offense is just stuck in neutral, though. Wolff is absolutely killing it in the net, though—going 10 for 17 is insane. 🙏🙏🙏
hollowbison80 said:I put it up. $67 I put my money on the US winning the World Cup right at the start. Odds were 15 to 1. A lot of people laughed in my face, but I told them straight up: don't you ever bet against Jesus and Our Lady of Medjugorje.
Jokes aside, we’ve actually pulled ourselves together, and I think we’ve got a real shot at the finals. We're gonna have to step it up big time compared to how we played in the group stage, though. If we face Spain, we’re gonna run into a brick wall of a defense and a team that transitions lightning fast. If we can handle that, I honestly believe we'll move on. Norway and Canada are both absolute nightmares to play against, but I think we're the stronger side. After that, whatever happens in the final, it'll be in the hands of Jesus and Zlatko. I mean, I totally played a little something on our side just for kicks with my buddy, but man, we’ve still got a long way to go before that winning ticket actually hits.
Man, this is way too long. Just way too damn long.
Egypt, Spain, Norway, Canada... I mean, I honestly don't think the friar is gonna make it through all this without getting roughed up.
