It’s been two days since they took the tampon out, and honestly, once I finally caught up on some sleep, everything just vanished... no bruising, no wounds, no discoloration, nothing at all.
Honestly, I stopped following this thread ages ago because I finally realized there’s no substitute for listening to your own doctor. Following advice from random people on an internet forum is a losing game—most of it is just plain wrong, anyway... plus, every doctor operates on their own specific set of principles. As for Dr. Pocket... look, it's not that he isn't following his own rules; it's just that you can't exactly walk into a clinic and demand a tiny, dainty nose if you aren't genetically built for it. I really went in thinking I could pull off a miniature nose, but nope. My face is what it is. My skin is thick, my bone structure is heavy... a tiny nose was never on the table for me. In fact, the surgeon narrowed it as much as physically possible, and it still doesn't look small. If he had gone any further, I wouldn't have been able to breathe, and since my thick skin tends to "expand" the appearance of the nose... well, let's just say a tiny nose wouldn't have suited my head at all. 😁 Ugh. Regarding the surgery itself... it's been a little over a year now, and I think I'm looking at a second procedure. I've had some complications, which you can read about in my previous posts, but basically, a lump has grown larger over time and shifted away from where they glued it. It makes me wonder, would any of you actually go through with a secondary rhinoplasty in a situation like this?
Looking for a specialist... in Health ·

I dealt with a brutal case of demodex that she failed to even recognize, let alone test for, even after dozens of visits. She was swapping out my medications and creams like I was some kind of lab rat in an experiment!!! In the end, she actually had the nerve to tell me to see a psychiatrist and take something for anxiety because apparently, nothing was wrong—meanwhile, my face and neck were a total disaster!
So, I headed over to the San Francisco hospital. At the time, Stanic was the specialist on duty. She looked at my neck and said, "This is a textbook case of demodex," but insisted we run an analysis anyway, which confirmed it immediately.

Kosanovic is an old schizophrenic woman whom I would NEVER step foot near again! Later, I took the results from Irena back to her and told her she should be absolutely ashamed of that degree of hers... I mean, how does demodex not even cross her mind? It was like we were all playing charades instead of practicing medicine. 👎

My advice? Avoid Kosanovic like the plague! 👎

Honestly, you should stay far away from Irena Stanic too.
northernmaker84 said:Hey everyone... I could use some advice. :-) So, I'm heading in for nose surgery after the summer—purely cosmetic, really. I just want my own nose, just... a smaller version of it. I'm torn between going with Zambelli (who's right here in my city) or seeing Glumicica. What do you guys think?? thanks

Honestly, there's no way for anyone else to tell you that... it’s purely subjective and frankly, a bit of a roll of the dice. Just go with whatever your gut is telling you! 😉
So... here's the thing. If you were dealing with a lump—something you can actually feel when you touch it, or see if you get really close, even if it isn't obvious from a distance—would you actually go through with a follow-up procedure? Like, an actual revision surgery?
no..
I finally made it down to the beach after being stuck inside for a week 😉 so all I really need is a hat, and honestly, that’s about it...
Absolutely terrifying... honestly, you'd think they were operating while drunk.
I decided to trust my gut instead of listening to everyone on this forum... and honestly? I am just so incredibly relieved with the doctor I chose!!!!
Honestly, I couldn't care less about who’s running their mouth. I don't even bother reading half of it because there's just too much nonsense floating around, and let's be real—half of it isn't even true. I know what I've seen with my own eyes from people who have actually gone through surgery and all that. I have my own doctor; I ask him what needs to be done, and that's that! 🙂
I wonder how that actually works out... my doctor didn't mention anything about getting a massage
restlessfox3 said:Has anyone actually dealt with skin getting stuck to their nose after surgery?
Can you just massage it loose?

What on earth does that even mean?? 😁 When I put on moisturizer, I just rub it over my nose and call it a day.
Sam Kim12 said:So, what’s the point of having foil in the nose sitting right above the packing, or any kind of internal reinforcement for that matter?😉 Oh, yeah, a totally great idea to have the packing act as support for your septum🤣, just wonderful to have a fully engorged tampon shoved up your nose for several days😬. Who even is this, Dzepina or Toncic🙂?
Don't go yelling at people if you don't actually know what you're talking about. Hardly any doctors use packing anymore—mostly because 90% of them are from those private clinics, which use outdated surgical methods. Plus, that's where the highest percentage of revision surgeries happen—on those same private noses🙄.

I've dealt with breathing issues my entire life, and it's only now, after uncovering all the nonsense, that I'm opting for surgery. And I'm going to a hospital, not some private clinic where I'll suffer for half my life and they'll force half a meter of packing into my nose that doesn't even need to be there for seven days

.

Fine, sure, go ahead and do whatever you want. I have my own opinion😉. 😂

rowdyfalcon35 said:Thank you so much for the support; it truly means the world to me. Right now, my main priority is finding someone who can actually fix this so I can save my career. At the end of the day, people have to take responsibility for their actions, and I won't stop until they do. I'm a person of faith myself, so I can forgive, but I simply cannot move past being lied to. I can't handle someone looking me in the eye, refusing to admit fault, and then making me feel foolish by claiming I'm just imagining things. I respect everyone and I'm sure many have been helped, but what happened to me was a criminal error that is obvious to everyone, from laypeople to the top specialists in America. This isn't bad luck; it's a botched procedure. They went to extremes without my consent, and that is just wrong.

I sent you a message😉 regarding Glusac. He came off as completely unprofessional... basically like, "Oh, don't worry your pretty little head about it, just come in and don't f***ing worry, I'll fix it in a second, we'll pull the packing out tomorrow and you can go home..." (that is literally how it played out)... ever since then
rowdyfalcon35 said:A word of advice to anyone weighing surgery if you're dealing with breathing issues: just go to a hospital. If something unexpected goes sideways during the procedure, you actually have a full team of experienced doctors right there to step in, offer their expertise, and ensure things don't spiral. Plus, you can often negotiate the aesthetic side of things, which saves you a fortune. In a hospital setting, the surgeon isn't just left to fend for themselves. They aren't operating under that "assembly line" mentality where they give everyone the same cookie-cutter nose—which, by the way, is how you end up with a nose you never even asked for because the doctor decided it would look better on your small face. At least in a hospital, you won't deal with a surgeon who ruins your septum or over-refines the tip just because they felt like it. I used to be one of those people who thought paying top dollar meant getting more personalized attention than someone at a public hospital. What a massive mistake. And honestly, it’s not just me; I see it happening all the time. This is exactly why hospital staff get so frustrated with fixing the botched jobs from private surgeons; they just look at you like, "Well, you paid for that mess, now you can deal with it." You're basically left alone to suffer through your own bad decisions.

God, I'm confused—did you go in because you couldn't breathe or for the looks? Honestly, if I were you, I'd check out Dr. Davor Dzepina. He specializes in exactly what you're looking for. He's even worked on Mirko, though Mirko went back for more work because he ended up with a bit of a mess...
rowdyfalcon35 said:In my case, they took them out way too early, then had to put them right back in because the bleeding just wouldn't stop—which isn't surprising given my nose basically fell apart and the mucosa ruptured. Given all those complications and needing multiple surgeries involving a single Tampon, they definitely should have left them in longer than a day. That happened twice. It led to blood pooling and cartilage necrosis, and since the septum never properly stabilized, it just collapsed. Now I'm stuck with a perforation. Does anyone know someone who used a silicone button to fix a septal perforation? Is that a permanent fix or just a temporary patch?

Good grief, my own nose actually aches just reading this. 😢 I am so incredibly sorry you're going through this... if I were you, I’d look into seeing Dr. Davor Dzepin. He did reconstructive work for Mirko Filipovic and even helped some guy after a fight once... at least, that's the word on the street.
They aren't STUPID questions at all; I mean, surely a person knows what they're talking about... it’s just logical that those Tampons provide some kind of support to the septum during those first five days...
it isn't some random idiot who doesn't know his stuff... he told me the same thing regarding those tubes you're mentioning... that's just nonsense... it actually makes breathing even harder because mucus, congestion, and blood all pool up inside those tubes and everything just gets blocked... so I've decided I'm not putting any ridiculous gadgets in my nose... I wouldn't recommend Zambellia either, since she uses an open technique where you can see the incisions right under the nose and the recovery takes way longer—plus, the look of the nose she reconstructed just wasn't my style... but hey, to each their own...
Go ahead, solve this one if you think you can... The truth is, you’re going to need a mountain of cash, plus an infinite supply of patience and the nerves of steel required to breathe through your mouth for five miserable days (don't even ask how I survived that)... But honestly, the surgery itself isn't the terrifying part since you're under anesthesia and won't feel a thing. It’s just incredibly uncomfortable overall. And for some people, it leads to real dissatisfaction because they end up chasing a version of perfection that simply doesn't exist, so they keep stacking surgeries until they don't even recognize themselves anymore... you know how that goes. If you want my advice, go see Dr. Davor Dzepina in Washington, D.C.... you won't regret it. I wouldn't recommend Toncic because of the local anesthesia, and definitely stay away from Glumicic since he isn't an ENT specialist... nor would I suggest Zgaljardica or Zambellia... or Glusca, because I find the idea of having Tampons pulled out after just one day absolutely unbearable... those Tampons are there to support the septum. Maybe Dr. Bastaic is an option! 😉)
I’ve got these little bumps on my nose right by the eye—right on the bone... and it’s already been 10 months
For those who prefer subtle tweaks—Dzepina is the perfect choice... but if you're looking for something more drastic, you might as well head over to the Glumičić Clinic.
Thanks for the reply, but I’ve got the scars to prove it—and they’re pretty deep 😢
