I tried using those nasal drops my doctor prescribed, but my nose was so stuffed that the second I stood up, they’d just leak straight out... honestly, even now, I have no idea what the point of those drops even was?! 😁 Then, four days later, I went back for the follow-up—nasal cleaning, removing the mold, applying the tape... and there it was, that brief moment of breathing again... only for things to get congested again a few hours later. So, I spent the next four days "breathing" through this half-open airway until my next check-up where they cleaned me out and took the tape off... and *that's* when things finally started feeling somewhat normal (so, about nine days post-op). Everything before that? It wasn't breathing; it was more like gasping through gills. 😁 For those first three or four days, I was definitely strictly mouth-breathing.
Sarah James93 said:So far, my experience recovering from surgery has been surprisingly positive—recovery is actually going smoother than I anticipated. It’s been about ten days since the procedure. The pain wasn't overwhelming; I had quite a bit of swelling, but that, along with the bruising, is mostly gone now. I didn't deal with any bleeding in the throat, thankfully. The biggest headache was definitely the nasal congestion caused by the packing; since I couldn't breathe through my nose, my mouth was constantly dry and my throat was pretty sore.
Beforehand, I was honestly terrified of the anesthesia, but it turned out to be zero issue. I was under general anesthesia, and once I woke up, there was no nausea and no sore throat at all. In fact, since the surgery took a while, I actually managed to get some decent rest 🙂 and slept so soundly that I didn't even feel sleepy afterward.
rustygardener172 said:Two days?! No way. The only way that makes sense is if she left a tampon in for five days and then finally released everything two days after taking it out... but then we're talking seven days, not two. You're definitely looking at about ten days... maybe even a week or two. Heck, jadedriver0 even mentioned three weeks.
😲 So you've just been mouth-breathing this entire time? 👎👎👎
She took the tampon out the very next day, just like pretty much everyone else at those private clinics.
jadedriver0 said:Ugh, when was that? It was roughly three weeks ago, and I was already losing my mind.😠 🙄I have to say, though, Daria and Lana👍 were absolute lifesavers... I’m not actually sure if they’re still working over at the Glumičić clinic, but they really helped me through. And honestly, the lady staying in the apartment right below the clinic—she kept me going with all those homemade soups and veggies. That was my saving grace.🙏
Three weeks??? One girl told me it only took two days....
jadedriver0 said:Did you ever do those facial and nasal lymphatic drainage massages after your surgery👍, because Dr. Glumičić suggested I try them just to prevent any weird indentations or bumps from forming up later on👍
How long did it take before you could actually breathe through your nose again? Honestly, the congestion is absolutely killing me... my throat is so parched because of it🙄
So... I have this acquaintance who supposedly had to undergo nose surgery for medical reasons (though I’m not entirely convinced that was the actual driver, but whatever). It’s been a month and a half now, and honestly, you’d never even know she had anything done... there’s zero swelling, nothing looks off... just completely normal... I just don't get why these massive "A-list celebrities" lie so much about cosmetic procedures... it’s like they all collectively suffer from breathing issues... hahaha! Even with Zanamar—please, if she actually had trouble breathing, she would have sorted it out ages ago; I mean, how else would she sing? Pam and Neda were telling you earlier that Nika doesn't need any plastic surgery because she’s beautiful exactly as she is, even if they support her choice... and yet now Pamela is claiming Nika is going under the knife because of breathing difficulties... I mean, who is saying what to whom? What is it that makes them so ashamed to just admit they're getting aesthetic work done...
Honestly, ladies, please, let's not get into a shouting match over this :/ At the end of the day, you just have to be prepared for anything... stay chill and don't go spiraling about some massive catastrophe, because nothing is truly devastating until it actually becomes serious... I mean, if all those other people managed to pull through, we'll find our way too... Now, if we're talking about a simple little catarrh, I wouldn't worry, but then again, everything is relative... Anyway, that's pretty much my take on the whole situation 🙂
Honestly, people just love to talk... For instance, when I had to go in for a gastroscopy, I read horror stories from about 80% of the people online. It actually freaked me out quite a bit. But once I actually got it over with? I was just sitting there laughing at myself for being such a fool. It just goes to show how everyone experiences things totally differently, despite what all the noise says.
I’m on the same page as Sophia Hill22🙂 It isn't even the surgery itself that gets to me—it's the aftermath. I'm terrified of how I'll react once it's all over, especially since I've been dealing with this chronic sore throat for years now and nobody can give me a straight answer. They just shrug and say it's allergies or some other nonsense... But honestly, this really matters to me...
jadedriver0 said:Look, let’s be real here—it’s going to hurt. You’re going to deal with swelling, dark circles under your eyes and around your nose, maybe even some blood in your throat. It won't be easy to swallow anything, and you won't be able to eat anything crunchy for at least two weeks. Your nose is going to stay swollen for quite a while, too. Honestly, you won't see the actual results of the surgery for about six months, and even then, it rarely turns out exactly how we've daydreamed it would in our heads. There’s always that gap between expectation and reality, so you really need to think this through.🤷
How can you claim to know how much it hurts if you haven't actually gone under the knife? As far as I know, it isn't "painful," per se... just incredibly uncomfortable, obviously.
jadedriver0 said:No, she’s actually a really close friend, so we're just looking out for her, but honestly? It’s starting to piss me off. Every time I turn around, I'm hearing more horror stories about them. Even the "secondary" stuff—the things that are supposed to be minor—turned out to be total garbage. People are coming away with noses that look like lumpy potatoes or just completely flattened with weird indentations. How am I even supposed to describe it? Just... uneven. Total mess.🙄😠
It all really comes down to what the person is actually looking for. If they’re dealing with a nose they absolutely hate, then yeah, any change is probably going to make them feel better regardless. But if there isn't some glaring issue to fix? I highly doubt they'll be walking away feeling particularly thrilled. I mean, look, I was trying to say that my health should come before my looks—that it’s just plain stupid to jeopardize my actual well-being just to chase an aesthetic. But honestly? What am I supposed to do when I'm stuck with this fucking potato nose? 😂 I’m feeling a bit uneasy about the whole thing. Honestly, I have zero desire to deal with any actual suffering once the surgery is over. My throat is already feeling incredibly sensitive—kind of like a chicken wing that's been left too close to the flame. xD
jadedriver0 said:I honestly know a few girls who went through nose jobs, and they’re all somehow unhappy with the results. For some, it actually ended up looking bigger or more swollen than before—even three years down the line, and some even after a revision surgery... just, fuck off. :2up:🙂🙂God damn it...😠🙄
Believe me, it physically cannot get any worse than my current nose... :// Are you actually planning on getting surgery? And if so, which surgeon? O_O
Carol Diaz31 said:Picked some stuff up at DM today. Only 8 days left 😲 Kate Taylor59 and I am absolutely terrified by the whole thing, but I already put down the deposit, so there's no backing out now. 😂 Reminds me of that old saying: beauty requires sacrifice 😍
True enough... though when your health starts acting up, it’s not exactly a trivial matter anymore... Where exactly do you think you're headed?
rapiddriver14 said:So, nine months post-op, and I finally had my follow-up with Zambelli yesterday. Honestly, I went because while my nose is basically what it should be, there was this narrowing issue—essentially a gap on one side that he had to fill with cartilage. Well, he might have overfilled it just a hair, so now I have to go back in to get it "trimmed." There’s also the matter of it not being perfectly straight. Even though everyone tells me it looks fine—and even he suggested I wait until the one-year mark to fix anything (since you really need a full year for everything to settle and for the final result to actually show up) so we can correct it. I am really crossing my fingers that I won't have to pay extra for this, considering I already dropped $2,400 on the initial surgery.
He mentioned he’ll be doing the correction under local anesthesia, which absolutely terrifies me!!! Look, Zambelli is the type of guy who won't sugarcoat it; if it’s going to hurt, he’ll tell you straight up. It’s just a little sting, he says, but I feel like I’m about to die from the agony...
All things considered, my nose is fine. I’m not 100% thrilled, but I’ll sort it out at the one-year mark. Most people don't even notice the flaw, but of course, I see it clearly.
Let me reiterate: removing the packing hurts. At least, in my experience. I literally passed out. The pain is momentary, sure, but it is absolutely brutal—like someone is trying to pull your brain out through your nostrils. Not trying to scare anyone, mind you; everyone's experience is different. As for the general anesthesia, that part was fine for me. No nausea, no dizziness, I could even nap for a bit while watching TV.
The nurses at Zambelli’s clinic are wonderful. One of them actually held my hand while I was crying when I first woke up after surgery... I panicked a bit because my mom wasn't there. 🙂😍
Just a quick heads-up: I was torn between choosing Kinčl or Zambelli. When I went for a consultation with Kinčl and mentioned that the nasal bridge felt a bit too long, he told me it couldn't be shortened, blah blah blah... But when I asked Zambelli the exact same thing, he said it was doable, and more importantly, he actually did it, and it looks great.
😛
😲 cried 😢(now I'm scared... And what was that again? You can't breathe for seven days? Okay... I guess my surgery wasn't all bad after all... but thanks anyway...
jadedriver0 said:Anyone have actual experience with him? Has anyone actually gone to him? Did he do a decent job on your nose, or were there any issues?☕
I'm curious too. 😁 Check back around pages 70, 80, or 90... "Fatty" laid out the whole story regarding her experience with Zambelli over there.
quietwolf182 said:Look, I can tell you from experience—I haven't had any stinging sensations since my surgery about six weeks ago—but those first few days? Total nightmare. You’ve got your whole nose wrapped up, and you're forced to breathe exclusively through your mouth. Once they finally pulled the packing out after five days and I could actually use my nose again, my throat just went into full revolt. Everything in my mouth felt like it was on fire. It was so painful I couldn't even swallow food for a couple of days. My nurse basically told me there isn't much for it other than sipping warm tea constantly...☕ but honestly, that part ended up being more miserable than the actual surgery and the day immediately following it.😢
Thanks so much for the heads-up 🙂 That’s exactly what I’m worried about... I have an incredibly sensitive throat, so I'm a bit nervous about how this is going to play out. 😢
Can someone please tell me who here has actually gone under the knife for a rhinoplasty? I need to know... does the nasal mucosa just constantly itch? :O
